What is your favorite pony generation, and what is your least favorite?
I think my favorite would be G3, I grew up with them and when I here "ponies", G3 automatically comes to mind.
G3.5 however is my least favorite gen I honestly hate them. xD Won't even collect them.
My favorites go, in order-- G3, G1, G4, G2, and then G3.5 is not even liked. xD I like G2 but they seem very obscure to me. They interest me and I have three and want more, Ivy (Who I found at a Rite Aid, still in her package and everything, a few years back for $1. Crazy because Rite Aid's not a thrift shop, so I really wonder where she came from), Sunsparkle, and Flash, who just arrived in the mail today. I like them but the whole line just seemed very odd to me.

I apparently had a lot of G1s as a kid, and probably G2s...I was born in 88. But they were all sold at yard sales, so I really started collecting with the G3s. I love the variety and the colors! I do have a soft spot for G1s, but G3 is probably my favorite. G4 is a close second. Again, great variety and color.
G3.5 is my least. I have 2 my parents bought me that I tucked away in a box somewhere, and 1 I got as an extra from ebay that I love (only because its Dashie!). I'm not too fond of G2 either.

I think my preferred Gen is Gen 1. The ponies are whimsical and innocent and just so much fun to collect. Gen 4's are a very close second, they were my "gateway" ponies. I only started getting into MLP because of the FiM show. Next are the Gen 3's - Oh the colorful variety and the winter themed ponies :biggrin:
I just do not like the Gen 2 eye's. They seem so cold and expressionless, I just cannot enjoy them. Gen 3.5's, ugh, too cutesy and just ugh!!

G4 is honestly my favorite generation. While I grew up with G3, G4 really struck a cord in me.
G1 is next, I mostly blame My Little Pony Tales, its wonderful! But G1 in general is amazing. I'm glad I've gotten into it and started collecting it.
G2 & G3 are tied for third. I like them both equally. G3 for nostalgia and G2 because I love those slim ponies!
G3.5 is at rock bottom. I just.. no. Its cute (in a way.. I dislike the design) but I don't like the whole baby thing. I didn't like the animations or the toys either. The only G3.5 thing I liked were the parent ponies of the newborn babies. because I thought that was cool.

My favorites are the G3s. Even though I grew up playing with G1s, G3s are what I started collecting.
Least favorite, like many others, is the G3.5s. I think they're ugly.
So my most to least is G3s, G1s, G4s, G2s, G3.5s

Contradicting with everyone else here, I'll admit G3.5 is my favorite gen of all. *gets the weird looks and hides under the table* :bolt:
Don't ask me why I like them so much, there's just something adorable in them...
Least favorite? Probably G4, but when it comes to the toys only, I don't have a least favorite gen. I think all pony toyes deserve love.

I grew up with G1's so they have my heart but I do like G4. Least favourite would be G3.5 since their proportions are so out of wack. In order of preference, G1, G4, G3, G2, G3.5

G1s are my favorites. They're what I grew up with and I love the variety, their size and their character. :)
G3s are next. Again, I love the variety (pre Core 7) and all the bright colors. Next up would probably be a tie between g2s and g4s, with g2s having just a slight edge for their nifty accessories and the clip on wings. But I don't like the size of either one of them.
I really don't like g3.5s.

It's really hard to say! I think that it's a three-way tie between G1, G3, and G4. :)

G1 and G2 are tied. I really love them both so it's hard for me to choose! Then it's G4, G3, G3.5.

I love G1 and G3. I don't mind some of the G2s. I don't like G3.5 or later.

I'd have to say G1 is my favorite followed by G4 (though it would be nice if they would diversify the generation a bit.) G2 and G3 are tied well behind. Then G3.5...well G3.5 got lost and is currently headed for the crater an active volcano because it's too stupid to notice.

G1 is my favorite generation and I think it always will be. It was what I grew up with and what I originally collected. G2 are fine, but I have never found them appealing enough to collect. I was very excited when G3 came out and I avidly collected them. They had some great movies and a lot of diversity. When the core 7 stuff started, I stopped collecting for the most part. G4 is really cool, and I love the show. I collect the ones I want, but I am not trying to get each one. In order, G1, G4, G3, G2.

G1 is by far my favorite, since it's what I grew up with. I'd say G4 comes next, as I like the anime-style designs and the show. G3 is somewhere in the middle...I loved them when they came out and there are still several that I really like, but I kind of burned out on them and have been slowly culling the G3 herd. I used to not like G2 at all, but they've really grown on me and I now have several on my want list. I also like that they don't take up much space. G2 and G3 are about tied now. G3.5 is definitely last. I like the Newborn Cuties but nothing else.

G3 = I´m now collecting them, and I love them! :heart:
G2 / G1 = G2 is my childhood gen ^.^ and I like G1, but I have only one baby :huh:
G4 / G3.5 = I find them pretty, but G4 for me have weird faces :P, very angular and G3.5 remind me a bratz doll :lol:

i dont want to slam g3.5 like everyone else but they are a little out there but i love the g3.5 newborn cuties and like them more then g2 and g3's so its really hard to put them in order but will start saying G1 and G4 are on my top of the list :D

I forgot that they are G3.5, when I think about them I think in G3 :P

G1 is my favorite, my focus, my love! I got my first (Blossom) when I was four and my last was Wigwam. (I felt too old for toys, ha!)
My least favorite is G2, though they are growing on me. Same with g3.5, growing more lovable the more I see. G3 and G4 are great.
But nothing compares to G1 for me!

My favorite is G1. I like a few G3. G2 is meh. Not a fan of G3.5 or G4.

I grew up on G1 and I love how they look, especially their sweet and gentle expressions, so they are my favorite. I started buying G3 for my girls but stopped when they started making the core stuff. G3 grew on me; I love their symbols, how colorful they are, and that they made some really neat collector ones. Recently I've been buying more G3 "for" my youngest, but really they are kind of for me too ;)

Favorite generation: G1
Least favorite: G4...don't get me wrong, I like G4. I just don't like the lack of actual MLP toys (blind bags are not real MLPS to me). And I don't like how small the toys are.

G1 is my favorite gen and really the only gen I like (and even then I don't like many ponies Years 6-10). I think some of the G3s are cute enough, so I'd say they get a very distant second place, then G4 (concept has some appeal, toys seem cheap). I think G2 and G3.5 are equally terrible, but I'll give G2 the bottom slot b/c they have the worst looking accessories. But of course that is just my opinion, and I'm thrilled that other collectors get enjoyment out of them! The fact that I'm not after other gens only increases the supply! :)

G1s are definitely my favorites toy-wise because there are so many different ponies and gimmicks, and they look so friendly.
G3s also have a lot of different ponies, although they kind of blend together for me, especially all the white/pink/purple ones.
G3.5 and G4 are kind of tied for last right now; I love the G4 style and the uber cuteness but I'm so bored with the toy line. Plus G3.5 is pure core seven, and that doesn't work for me.
(G2 I've never even seen in person, so I don't think I could form a real opinion on them.)
In terms of the cartoons, G1 and G4 are both really great. The G1 movie and the couple of specials I've watched so far just make me laugh at how bizarre they are sometimes. (The Moochik just brings down Paradise Estate like it's a giant floating toy in the sky... :rofl: ) I love the soft animation and the personalities all the G1 ponies have. G4 is really fun, and I love the music and those characters too.

I'm one of the few who actually like G3.5, but they're not my favorite. I prefer G1, then G3, then G4, then G3.5, and lastly, G2. I've never really liked G2, but a few of them are starting to grow on me.

It's really hard for me to make a hierarchy for them, but still, I think I like G4 the most.
I still really like G1 for nostalgia and G2 since it's the one I actually have (love my Berry Bright!).
G3.5 really weirded me out since I had long forgotten about my G2 by that point and they reminded me too much of Bratz. Now they're just kind of there, they don't bother me anymore but I don't fawn over them either.
I feel like I can't really say much on G3 since I don't have any and don't collect them either. I do really like their bright colors though. :)

G4 is definitely my favorite. I know they don't really look like 'horses', but I think that's why I like them. They're very small and cute. Though I can agree that I can already see it getting a little repetitive.
I would have to agree with others that 3.5 is my least favorite. I think their faces are really... off putting.
I honestly don't like G1 very much. I wasn't a huge fan as a kid, either. I can't even pinpoint exactly what it is. The chubbiness, maybe?
I've always been pretty neutral on G3. Some of them I think are very nice, others not so much. Overall, though, I like the shape of their bodies and faces.

I've stopped collecting all the others but G3s would be my next fave if I had to pick.
Then the G4 -deer toys -G3.5 -don't even know what to call these *shuders* and G2 -Donkey toys would have to be my least favorites

I love all gens but if i had to pick a favorite i would say G1.
G2 and G3 share second place. G4 gets third place thanks to the boring toyline.
G3.5 gets last place. Since there are only 7 characters i don't think that is surprising.

Well, G1 is easily my favorite gen... They're the ones I loved in my childhood and that I have collected for my entire life! G3 is my second favorite -- they're so pretty! Poor G2 is my least favorite generation. I say poor because it kinda seems like no one likes them and they're weird looking. I still collect them to some extent, but I don't particularly love them.
My mood towards G3.5 changes often. In general, they're really weird looking and I don't like the way they look. But, strangely, they seem to be one of the most well made generations -- they're made with quality plastic and the painting is well done. For that reason I am kinda fascinated with them.

It depends on if we're referring to toys or the cartoons. My favorite toys are the G1s, while my favorite cartoons are G4 (FiM).
As for least favorite, I don't have any least favorite toys (I collect all of them), while G3/3.5 are my least favorite cartoons.

G1 is the one that I grew up and played with. G3 I do like their colors and designs they are neat. G4 are ok I like them and collect the toys. G2 I don't really like but I also love their designs. G3.5 - I just dont 'get' the big head thing.

I love G1 and G2. G3 is a close contender pre-Bore 7 (the sheer variety!) I like G4, but I was never able to get into G3.5. I don't dislike them ... they're just not my bag.

G3 is my favorite, and the only generation I really "hate" are G3.5.
Here's my order: G3, G1, G2, G4, G3.5

Fave: G1 -- this is what I had as a child... I like the babies!!
2nd: G3 -- my friend's kid liked these, so I bought these for her. 3.5 came towards the end of time that she still got ponies as gifts
Least: G2 -- I have no memory of these, so they aren't "ponies" to me
I haven't watched any G1 cartoons in recently, but I like G1 graphics over all the others. I watched some FiM but it didn't hold my interest any more than others.

By far my favorite is G1. I only have a collection because I wouldn't let go of them when I was "too old" for toys and most all went to donations. Generations two-today are all new to me. I had no idea until last year that they were still making ponies! So it goes G1, G3, G4... then g2 and g3.5 are pretty and I would not pass them up on a good deal just to have a few in my collection. :D

I would have to say G1 is my #1 and G2 + G3 fight out for 2nd and 3rd... G3.5 and G4 fight it out for 4th and 5th....

My favourite is G1. There's so many of them and there is so much variety! Seaponys, Twinkle Eyes, Twice as Fancy, Babies, Big Brothers, there is just so much diversity and thats why they take my personal crown.
Least favourite... G3.5, I actually don't dislike it, I think they're sort of adorable, but they just aren't as great as all the other generations!

I would have to say G1. I grew up with them. I never knew G2 and G3 existed :blush: until I started to collect G4's. I was aware of G3.5 and have never liked them.

Well I collect everything MLP from all Gens, My favorite will always be G1's! They are the ones I grew up playing with, :) and the ones that lead me to start collecting as an adult. It was well trying to look up their real names online that I stumbled unto the online MLP community way back when.

G2 - What happened to MLPs??? between my being to "old" for ponies and rediscovering them as an adult? OH well more to collect. :)
G3 - Yeah MLPs are back in stores!! their not as cute as the originals, but yeah new ponies to collect!!! :satisfied:
G3.5 - OK what where they thinking? they look like bigheaded Brat clone ponies... :|
G4 - Mouse ponies Really??? :blink:
G4D (dolls) - :shocked: (they really aren't that bad, kind of cute I guess, It's just the selling out principle of it that I object to)
G5 - If they keep getting smaller were probably going to need magnifying glasses just to see them... :cry: Look its MLP ants! ...

I grew up with G1s and they will always be my faves, they hold such sentimental value and is the essence of "My Little Pony", to me. These are the focus of my collection.
I do collect some G2, G3 and G4, as "fun" additions to the G1's, but they aren't as valuable to me (except maybe my prized G3, Diva Tink-a-too).

Certainly G1 are at the top closely followed by G4.
Then G2 they just started to grow on me one day
G3 I do buy some that I like and keep the ones that people buy me but I do not go out of my way to buy them
G3.5 I do not hate them but do not like them either but I confess to having 1 and that is were that branch of my collection ends.

I like G3 (but G3.5 disgust me =P). Just... WHY SO MANY PINK PONIES?! But there's variety =3
G4... I like it... but... WHY THE SAME POSES?! (and talking into account that where I live there haven't been 'new' ponies -i.e., characters- since 2011 ¬¬X I'm REALLY bored just seeing RD, PP, Fluttershy, Rarity, TS and Applejack... those are the only ones they carry -.-). Last 'new' characters I bought... Blossomforth and Ploomete so many moons ago o.o
And really sad for lack of variety... not even in the flea market for G4s ;___;

In this order... G1, G3, Tales, G2. G4.........and waaay down the line, G3.5. Then again, I'm judging things from a show perpective, with liking G2 for Friendship gardens and the books. G1 stands at the top for me, for it's dark adventures. G3 is fun and cute, a society where everbody is happy! ^^ Tales has some good, 'babysitters club' stories, and G4 has the best character development. 3.5 is... something I don't talk about. O_o

Well, I like (more or ...less) all generations. The list goes from best to worst:
G1 - I was too young too see them in stores, but my childhood friend had a Sweetheart Sister. I remember stumbling upon Dream Valley for the first time and falling in love with all the old ponies! I don't have many of them, because they're rather HTF and expensive where I live, but I truly do love them! The ponies were perfect and creative - not to mention the gorgeous artwork!
G2 - I grew up with them, of course I love them! They're so slim and fragile, they remind me of The Last Unicorn ;) I love their ethereal looks. I think that the gem stone eyes were really good idea.
You can imagine how strange G3s seemed to me when they hit the shelves....
The only thing that I dislike is the lack of interesting poses. The G2 ponies don't seem so interesting to collect, because the poses are too similar.
G3 - I like how they're a return to roots! Finding a G3 pony in a thrift store got me into collecting :) Lots of interesting poses and characters!(Of course pre-Core7)
G4 - I remember when first photos of the new ponies were shown - half the people on arena found them ugly. Everything has changed after the first episode of the show has aired. The same thing has happened to me. I think that they're sort of cute, but not interesting enough for me to start collecting. I bought one Rainbow Dash and one Fluttershy way before the brony business started and that's it - I don't really see the need to have more. I dislike how tiny they're :| And they don't look like horses at all...
G3.5 - the messed-up prototypes of G4, the missing link of pony evolution :biggrin: Well, the Newborn cuties were sort of cute, but the rest was just like G4, except all lose and no gain...
I also really love (good) fakies, I've even started a blog on them :blush: I know that most collector dislike them, but to me they're like the undiscovered story of MLP!
