Totally agree, I actually like that they look so different, less cutesy and more gutsy and "in your face".

Oh my.... I think if I was a little girl I wouldnt want to play with these....they seem a little scary for girls. I want them, but hopefully these are sold in hottopic and not at walmart or toys r us. I feel like there are already so many Rainbow Power ponies!

Oh my.... I think if I was a little girl I wouldnt want to play with these....they seem a little scary for girls. I want them, but hopefully these are sold in hottopic and not at walmart or toys r us. I feel like there are already so many Rainbow Power ponies! 

They will be toys r us exclusives, most likely in a pack similar to previous years Favorites collections.

The Taobao sellers have definitely caught on to the new pony thing- they will charge way more than the stores will charge once they eventually get them.  Why? Because people will pay it, that's all.

Besides personally just not liking the style and not seeing how it's at all appropriate for FiM, the thing that really irks me is that on these, from those taobao listings there are also pics from other angles and, all those designs mirror over on the non-display side EXCEPT the cutie mark! Hasbro is so stupid sometimes!

I have VERY mixed feelings...

On one hand:  I think they're fun for adult collectors, a quirky set.  They are also fun for teenagers who are in that funny stage of "too old for MLP", but also like it.

On the other hand:   Mane 6...     and gosh, goth is just not a good fit for the normal target MLP demographic, At. All.

O.o Am I missing something? Those gothy designs look like something my little sister and her friends (8-10ish) would love. There are "goth" dolls aimed at kids, and shows/films that celebrate that kind of thing for kids, so I don't get where people are getting this idea that the target demographic won't like it or that it's not appropriate/is scary - it's just some black paint and designs. If kids couldn't handle a bit of that then Halloween wouldn't be a thing.

I'm interested to see what they'll call the set - are they dressed up for Nightmare Night or are they going to call it something else?

It's not that I think it's inappropriate for kids or that kids can't handle gothy designs. (I highly doubt kids are gonna see them and think "sock fetish".) It's that I think the style doesn't suit MLP or the characters. I just don't really like that they are trying to make the ponies "edgy". I like them just being cute, colorful ponies. At Toy Fair they called the line Pony Mania (Mane-ia?).

Not my thing at all:/ If I do get the talking Chrysalis I'll probably take a bottle of nail polish remover to get those extra designs off. I'd rather them make a new line of original rocker ponies than paint a bunch of stuff on the main 6.

All I can think about when I see these goth ponies is "RAINBOW OF DARKNESS"
