They are recalling the sets with resin, citing the liquid resin violates safety guidelines.

I'm kind of like... yeah? We knew they had resin... I was kind of surprised they'd even gotten on the shelves at all. I'm curious what will be released in the future, because I feel like the entire brand is based on this.

I have a Lifestyle ball that I meant to open and never made.  I'm thinking I should leave it as is now that everything's been recalled.

I had wondered about putting resin in a toy like that, but it seemed okay as long as you followed the instructions even if the resin was hard to get out of the container.   If I had kids I wouldn't let them make the items alone due to the resin being a bit hazardous and not something I'd comfortable letting them use unsupervised.

Do the Mini Brands Master Chef use resin too?

Honestly, I saw this coming. What were they thinking putting resin in a children's toy!?

I'm just surprised it took as long as it did! Resin isn't something to be playing around with, especially not as it was aimed towards children. I loved the moulds but stayed away from the line for that reason... resin's not something I felt comfortable with experimenting with.

I do resin and have made quite a lot with it but you do need gloves and I do it by a window (epoxy resin) the UV one as all resin is is toxic until cured  and I think it does say in the leaflets in the balls to wear gloves when making it, so if you leave kids unsupervised with it then theres probably going to be accidents   I would have put the age on it as 12 and up hopefully it isn't all the balls as I do like doing them. all the ones I have had ave cured so maybe its some that have defective resin that stays runny/sticky (I have had that with UV resin bottles(NOT mini verse)  I got cheap on a shopping site

I checked my unopened ball, and it has a graphic that they aren't for children  under 4 and the recommend age is 8 +.   The notice says that the resin isn't as toxic once it's cured, but on the Make It balls I did I noticed that after the resin cured, the piece was very warm.  I'm wondering if a  child might have burned themselves while the resin was curing even though the instructions said to wait at least 10 minutes before checking on it after you placed it in the sun.

I was going to fill out the form for a refund, but they don't list the Lifestyles candles.

*snerk*  utterly not surprised on this news...  I always thought it was a disaster in the making to promote resin use among children and teenagers who don't take safety precautions seriously

I think its only in the USA as they are still for sale here in the UK and they are releasing a new formula resin instead to come in the autumn releases

This is what Target looked like the other day.  It's hard to tell, but they basically stuck Mini Brands Fashion balls in the boxes so it didn't look empty.  They also had the Spa Miniverse boxes, but had other products in them too.
