If you hit up tiggums on here she has a similar catalogue she got from a NZ toy shop in the day I have seen it but have never been fussed by historic release to pay attention to any of the detail
Interesting...I've always had the impression that, aside a couple of things Australia had largely the US line in the early years and then the European stuff later on...Your catalogue images certainly support that idea...even down to the names and the accessories involved...It's a shame the Sundae Best page isn't there because I want to see how much the names are messed around in it..Some of those images may also be in US catalogues? I feel I've seen a couple of them before.First time I've ever seen something officially hasbro amend the spelling of Watercolor to Watercolour Over here they got renamed to Colour Change Baby Sea Ponies so that problem didn't occur. But the catalogues are awesome to see and so cute I'm glad you're still digging into this. There are so many questions still about Australia ponywise that it's great to fill in some of the details!

Bunkie and Binkie? I'd love to know what the US catalogue says for them and also if they were ever sold under those names or if that was a late change...Also if the whole set had been sold in the UK, whether those were the names we would have had for the other twinsets. THe boxes for that year for the twins in the UK and the US are identical at the front but different on the back (showing 3 sets not 6) as far as I am aware so who knows! Also Puddles and Peeps...not Peeks! It's a shame the Sundae Best page isn't there because I want to see how much the names are messed around in it..Some of those images may also be in US catalogues? Interesting! I have a US catalog that has some of the same sets / pictures (like the Summer Wing ponies) but not all of them (mine definitely doesn't have the ponywear picture).
The TAF prototypes in the ad look really different to the actual releases. So cool!
Ah, lovely detective work... Thank you for sharing! It's a pity that the Big Brothers aren't here. There's a funny little mistake in in the American version, and I would have been interested to see what the Australian localizers did with it! Did Australia have the Mountain Boys, or were they just boy-less that year?
