Muffins flocked figurine
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:30:32 PM »
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has received their flocked muffins figurine. I would love to see a close up pic if possible. Also, what are your thoughts on deflocking it? Do u think it would ruin the figurine?

Is the regular figure sole out? Because they offer one without flocking...

Deflocking would definitely ruin the figure's value, seeing as the original version came without flocking and you could purchase one of those if you wanted. The whole point of the collectible is that it's flocked. As for removal, most deflocked ponies have some degree of glue residue and marks that can't be fixed afterwards, depending on how skilled the customiser is. So the deflocking process may leave some marks or damage on the figure which will also negatively affect the value.

None of that matters if you have your heart set on the figure and it's only for your personal enjoyment, but I would really recommend getting the non-flocked version if you don't care for fuzzies.

I agree its going to depend on how its been flocked as to whether its possible as well as how much of the figure underneath is made of painted plastic.

I think it would also devalue it; to date there have been more of the regular figure released than the deflocked one. I also would not be stunned if WLF have not finished releasing them - when they see $$ they are like any other commercial organisation they will collect!

If you would prefer a non flocked version I would perhaps try and trade the flocked one for a non flocked one or even wait and see if there will be a further release before committing to deflocking.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Mine will be here Friday (to match my second print version). I'll be putting pics up on my blog as soon as I get her. :)

Edit: Was pushed back to today... hope I get her today. My vacation started and I really wanted to wear my new shirt. XD

Also, to avoid getting dust on mine, I'm putting it in one of those plastic doll collector cases. :D

Cute but not enough to order another shirt that I really don't want in order to get her. I wish this one had come before the second limited series as i would have preferred the flocked version. Oh well, their loss for having to be sneaky in order to get people to buy stuff they don't want to get items that are really not limited. I doubt that I will be ordering from them again.

Oh my, she's cute! I hadn't heard of this figurine before, either.

Fun to see a flocked pony, though. Wish I had the funds (and space) for her... :)
