Did anyone else get this pony yet?  Her hair is not nylon- it is some sort of soft monofilament type stuff-  I can't think why they would do this unless it was just to cheap out-

Otherwise- she is very cute in person.  I do like the length of the hair (which is super long) if not the texture...

I wonder if this kind of hair is supposed to be "better" for styling or something. Like maybe it doesn't tangle as easily or holds styles better or maybe just has a better "feel"?

It is very fluffy textured so it tends to get messed up easier than nylon or saran would-  it is also not as shiny.   I will try styling it when I get her home (or more like this weekend)- but I've had a few dolls with hair like this over the years, and I have found that it doesn't take a curl very well.

So I finally got her hair conditioned and combed out- and most of the snarly mess came out, it is also a lot nicer.  The curls fluffed up just fine.

For any interested-
Her mane appears to be considerably longer than a regular FS, and her tail just slightly longer.

She also appears to be just slightly smaller than a regular FS-  but it may just be the way her head tilts.  Definitely a new mold.   Here's a photo (sorry for the poor quality) that shows her size and the length of her hair (after it's been conditioned and combed out) compared to a regular FS

  There are three "ribbons" on each side of her mane - she only has three rows of the fluffy hair, and then the fourth row I guess is where they inserted the ribbons.  Each ribbon is different.

I am wondering if for Hasbro she is like the G4 version of the super long hair ponies perhaps?

I think you are right Cat-  after all, little girls (and pony collectors alike) are suckers for the extra-long hair thing. 

I just wish they had gone with super long nylon hair and not substituted it for this fluffy tangly stuff.  The kids are going to make a mess of this pony the second she gets out of her package I fear...

Yeah...it sounds oddly inappropriate considering the target market and how it will be played with.

Maybe you will have a prototype? And the real releases will have regular nylon. That would be nice

I would love for that to be true- but given the numbers of these turning up, I think they are going to be released any day now just as they are.

I might be sounding overly critical though- the hair is kind of nice in its own way- like fluffy combed yarn.  I have some cute customs with the fluffy yarn hair- and I love them!  I guess it just seems odd considering , as you said- the target market.  Also, I can't help but suspect that they picked this hair to save on production costs...

This Fluttershy honestly doesn't appeal to me at all After seeing those photos was a deal breaker for me. I'm not a fan of fabric hair on a pony unless its stuffed

Given the way she appears to lean forwards and her huge eyes, it just reminds me of The Stare!

Have any of these new FS flutterahy's from taobao been confirmed for release of found in their packaging? I dont know which ones are prototypes or future releases... so far I have seen 3 i am after! I dont know which ones to buy now or wait until they are released if they are confirmed. Im want to collectal variants:


1. FS Fluttershy with big eyes, green and pinks in her mane, weird wings
2. FS Fluttershy with weird wings, big eyes, strange texture hair, fabric wavy pieces in her hair
3. Alicorn Fluttershy, super weird wings.

Have any of these been spotted in rainbow power packages? And can someone PM me a links from Taobao? My phone dpesnt load TB.

No none of them have been spotted in packaging at this time. I am sure a couple of them will be forthcoming though mainly due to the volume they have turned up in.
