help with smooze? @_@

hello everyone!

Not too long ago I picked up a Cotton Candy for myself. She wasn't on my wantlist but she was just so cute and sweet sitting on that shelf, I had to have her ;A;

But the problem is, she's got smooze. (that's the term for ingrained dirt, right? T_T i'm a little out of it lately)

And it's pretty bad.

I'm not sure how to go about cleaning her, and I feel bad because she looks so dirty. I tried scrubbing her with the toothbrush I used to clean some other dirty ponies, and while it worked on them because it was just surface dirt, it didn't do a thing for poor Cotton Candy.

Does anyone have any tips on getting smooze out of this poor pony? :/ thanks!

I think you have to boil the pony and use oxyclean to scrub off the smooze.

I know people who have done it successfully but I've never managed it.

ooh, that sounds pretty interesting @_@ I've done a few things before, but I've never really done any pony boiling haha

I don't recommend pony boiling myself - I know others swear by it but I had the eye paint on a blossom literally melt off when I tried it.

For smooze I just run it under really hot tap water and scrub really hard.

oh o_o that sounds scary, haha.

Yeah, I'm not sure about exactly what I'll do but that sounds a bit .. easier xD;

I use my fingernails and hot hot hot water...  sometimes baking soda scrubbed into the surface of the vinyl helps.

I use Mr.Clean Magic Erasers. Just don't scrub too hard on symbols.

I had this problem with some of the g3s i just got recently..
couple of things to do..
First.. make sure before you start on the schoomze that shes clean and any actual dirt dirt is off of her.. because you could work that in deeper..
so first give her a bath with some nice gentle soap and warm water.. I suggest baby shampoo it works well..
ok.. once shes clean.. there are a couple of ways to go about this..
what i do is ususally get some oxy clean or what ever you have and mix it with some nice hot water.. that and some elbow grease should get the worst of the dirt off.. tho its gonna take a lot of tries....
Another thing you can do...is get a magic eraser and again.. some nice hot water.. and scrub her down with that.
Be gentle on the symbols because they do come off .. speically if they are glitter.. I did all of this with my G1 glory she was practically BROWN when i started.
Or you can do both.. put your oxy clean in the hot water and then dip the magic eraser into the oxy water and do that.
just make sure you dont rub to hard on the eyes and symbols and she should come clean.. tho it will take again ... a bit of elbow grease.. i think you will be happy with the results ... i was .. my g1 glory is white again!!

And I agree you need warm water and elbow grease to get it moved.
