Congrats on making it to day 8!
I tried doing Insanity a few months ago and I don't think I even got to day 3. So believe me when I say I'm impressed! (I'm currently doing Jillian Michaels videos) I hope you're able to get more energy for playing with your daughter!

It's almost inhuman what some of these athletes do.
I often feel like they do amazing things, and then the commentators say something like "OHH THAT WAS A DISASTER, THAT'LL COST SOME POINTS" But you KNOW someone had a good routine when the JUDGES have their mouths open in awe

I can't watch online supposedly because I dont have cable. Stupid NBC! So I am watching via BBC streamed to my tv.
Stupid NBC indeed. I'm still outraged by their "coverage" of the opening ceremony. They shouldn't be editing things out, ESPECIALLY not the terrorist tribute (because "it wasn't tailored for US audiences") Can you imagine if America was hosting the Olympics and had a 9/11 tribute that BBC edited out?

I think it was for an eye doctor but it had a lady going "here kitty kitty" but the kitty was a skunk. I know it wasn't the point but I thought the skunk was cute.
Not one stuck in my head, but you reminded me of one that I saw years ago. It was during the Super Bowl, and I have noooo idea what it was for (beer? kitty litter? jeans?) but it was a bunch of cowboys herding kittens across fields/under fences, etc and talking about how it's a hard job but someone's gotta do it. When I saw this thread, the first thing that went through my head was "double-quilted, quicker-picker-upper! BOUNTY" but as I rarely watch tv anymore, I usually only get a jingle in my head if I'm by a toy aisle in a store and see one from the 90s. (gator golf, hungry hungry hippos, etc)

I wish I had the money for the big sets! I also really want ones from Star Wars, but those get to be mega pricey. I hope they come out with more LotR ones soon

DOOO EET!
I love CO 200x more than the other 2 states I've lived in (CT and NC). And I've been to most of them too. The mountains, the plains, the lack of humidity, there's just so much outdoor stuff to do. The people are pretty cool too. I can't stop finding new things and going to new places. And I have NO family out here. But they plan on visiting me soon! I don't even mind. This is really a great place for vacations. I have a year pass to RMNP and I go there about once a week and just let my mind and body wander. It's nothing short of amazing.
The job market is not so good. Is it anywhere? I've been looking for about 7 months now and nobody has invited me into an interview yet, but that will really depend on your major.
You can get houses for super cheap out here too!
I agree with most of what you said, it's an absolutely beautiful state and family will love to come visit you. My brother was just looking into moving there, the job market is about the same as everywhere else, but he told me that housing was AWFUL. But I guess it'll vary depending on more specifically where. Just be careful going to movie premieres...

Also, vanilla coke is still around...
I see the little bottles at some gas stations, but they don't sell it in supermarkets or in the 2-liter bottles. At least not here they don't.
Ah. Well. One point for the midwest then. I still see them in 2-liter bottles and 12 pack of cans and such.

Also, the DVD releases of Gargoyles should not have been cancelled. It's just cruel not to release the rest of the series.
Not quite on topic, but I wish they'd get with the DVD releases of Who's Line Is It Anyway! It's been done for 7 years or so now, I believe, and they've only released like the first season. :/ Also, vanilla coke is still around... And I forget who mentioned House, but as good as that show was, it WAS around for 8 years so you can't get too upset. I know Hugh Laurie had to take a few breaks from it (faking a limp so much was starting to actually cause one) so you couldn't have expected him to do it much longer

FIREFLY. I know at SDCC Joss Whedon talked about a new season but I think he was just talking about a comicbook, as I don't foresee any way they could bring back the tv show.
I also really miss eating Butterfinger BBs

Surely it's a mistake, I have more brains than brawn and I'm not at all brave.
Thisssss. The only reason I wanted Gryffindor is that their mascot is a lion. Snakes, ravens, and honey badgers are nice and all, but come on. It's a lion. The only other house I like Ravenclaw because of it's color scheme. Plus, Luna Lovegood omg.
now only if there was another house where their mascot was a giraffe or a puppy sized elephant...
What about Pizza John as the mascot? I'm in Slytherin and we got the first 4 chapters of CoS today! They say that the next few chapters should open up soon as well.

I agree with others, on that you should set aside money each month- in general, dogs aren't too expensive but you never plan on accidents happening. Anything from getting in a fight with another critter, to accidental poisoning, to ..whatever you can think of, vet bills can EASILY become very expensive, so it's always good to have at least a few hundred in savings for them. And I disagree with whoever said no to flea/tick medicine in the winter- you don't know about any other dogs yours will come in contact with, maybe it just vacationed in the south and picked up fleas and now spreads them to your dog...
Also, just something to keep in mind, adult dogs are way more relaxed and sleep much more than young ones, but also small dogs are MUCH more hyper and harder to tire than big dogs. And most shelters, if you can prove that you'll provide financially and talk with them about how you can work around your schedule (ex. come home on lunch to let the dog outside for a few), they shouldn't have a problem with you living in an apartment. (though you DO need to talk to your landlord before, some have very steep costs for pet deposits)
I know plenty of dogs that do well with people who work full-time jobs, my main concern is the fact that as you said, you JUST graduated and got a new job. The new dog WILL need a good deal of attention, especially in the beginning, which means that even if it would be good for your career if you stayed later or worked overtime, it won't be good for the dog. But even more importantly, you're young in life. I don't mean that as a bad thing, just that if you have a dog waiting for you at home, doing things like going out to the bar and drinking after a long day at work... not the best plan. Especially since you should be getting up early to make sure to take the dog out before going to work. Trying to restart a good social life and taking care of a dog can get hard- you shouldn't agree to go out to dinner after work, or go out to the movies, or spend the night at someone's place getting frisky.. I'm not saying you can't have any fun, just that your dog is fully dependent on YOU, and it's not fair to the dog if you end up being gone 12 hours most days and then want to crash soon after getting home. There are ways around it, of course. I know a couple who both are in grad school as well as working, which does mean they're gone from home a lot and so when they want to see friends, they invite us over to their place- whether to grill out food, or watch movies, or drink.. that way, they're still home with their dog but they also can see other people. I'm just saying it's another thing you should think about and plan for.

Tom Hiddleston is a great actor... In different interviews, he talked about how Mark Ruffalo would bring his son on set and Tom would ask him questions and play around with him, and how Mark would end up coming out on days he wasn't working just because his son wanted to watch the Loki scenes so badly. I'm really excited to see what will happen with him in Thor 2 Spoiler And it looks like I might be wrong about Avengers 2... I kept hoping that because it was through Marvel, they wouldn't let Joss Whedon actually kill off popular characters, but then Joss said this.. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I saw it last night and it was AWSOME! Every bit as good as I hoped if not better. I laughed so hard for some scenes.
I was however really annoyed when people walked up and left during the end credits. Hasn't people learnt that as long as the lights are out, there are bound to be something more inte the movie? Never walk out until they light the room or you'll miss out on something! And sit down for heavens sake! There are people behind you who want to see that last scene as well!
I went to the Marvel marathon (started at 11am and showed all their movies- Iron Man, Hulk, etc, then the Avengers at midnight) and it really annoyed me then. It's like, seriously? We just sat through 15+ hours of movies, in which YOU SAW that each movie had a teaser at the end and now you're going to get up and walk past me to leave right as the credits start to roll? Can you not make the connection of 'all those other Marvel movies had something at the end, and this Marvel movie probably does too'? Ugh. But if I see a movie after the midnight release, I just figure that those people came back to watch it a second time and already know what happens. Also, in one of the interviews before the release, they were asked something like what they did once all the filming was over and Chris Hemsworth answered "Had some Shawarma"- which now makes perfect sense I've seen it twice, and I'm now deeply in love with Captain America. Chris Evans is a beautiful man
I honestly can't pick a best part, but it did bother me that black widow and the agent woman whose name I can't remember were wearing heels the whole time. Why would you make heels part of a uniform?
Agent Hill. And to be fair, they aren't really heels, as it's all connected so it's more stable than say, stilettos. But I agree, especially with all the running and whatnot that they have to do.

I really liked it, though I know their stories pretty well so I was kinda more critical (and I do wish it was Edward Norton was the Hulk..)
Spoiler And they didn't actually explain how Loki got out of the prison. He's a trickster/really good with magic, as he showed in Thor, he's really good at making a fake image of himself for others attack. So he had a fake-self that Thor went after while he was really safe and hiding. It doesn't show where all of his drones are during their time on the ship though, so one of them could have easily gone and let him out. Also, who else hopes that Agent Coulson isn't really dead and will come back??
Spoiler It's Joss Whedon, so I highly doubt it. Knowing his track record, I bet it was difficult to keep Iron Man alive. DX I was scared there. Despite that track record with killing off beloved characters, I love Joss's ability to make a great crew interaction.
Spoiler I do love Joss, and he does have a tendency to kill people off, but this is different. Because Marvel tends to never let anyone die. We already know that Nick Fury lied about the cards, so why not Phil's death..? Also, I haven't heard anything about Avengers 2, so it might not be Joss writing/directing it again...
