My foot is so much better today.  I signed up for a 1 mile walk that will raise money for my nephew who was in the hospital last May and June.  They're also doing a 5k race but I hate running so I will walk instead.

Congrats Crowning Glory on getting so many of your goals for the day completed and earning your pony watch. Congrats Kiwi on getting the most votes and winning so much for the rescue.

I'm going to rate September as a bad month since I was sick for most of it. Hopefully October will be better. My goals remain the same for October and I hope I will be more motivated to stick with healthy habits and make better food and drink choices then I was in September.

Yes, well done!
BTW Chines pepper king prawns are food of the gods - deep fried, batter-coated prawns with onion, garlic, a few shredded chillies and Chinese spices; a non-sauce dish, each prawn is around 61 calories so I save them for a special day!

My foot is so much better today.  I signed up for a 1 mile walk that will raise money for my nephew who was in the hospital last May and June.  They're also doing a 5k race but I hate running so I will walk instead.

A great cause! I am not a fan of running either - it just makes my wobbly bits wobble more! Plus the out-of-breath thing... but I must say that compared to 6 months ago, my stamina has increased. On the rare occasion that my old gym would make us all run around the carpark, the last one I did I could actually complete: a) the full distance b) without stopping for breath c) not be one of the last ones d) not collapse on the ground afterwards (I was panting furiously, though!)  but, still, running... not comfy for me at all, perhaps I should put it on my list of new goals to smash - I have a nasty feeling my new gym will incorporate running segments in our workouts  :yikes:

September -
a good month, very productive, lots of house-prep work done (lots of money spent on getting those jobs done too, grrr). Did I visit the dump ten times last week? I have lost count...  :tellme:
A bit of a week's hiatus re: gym transition, the three intro weight-training sessions were hardly the same as the full-blown 1-hour beastings I am used to - however, this may change later this morning after my first REAL workout...  I am up early typing all this and am feeling nervous at what will be thrown at me!
Food/diet - mainly eating within my calories + logging 99% of my consumed calories; working at the old house I am too busy for big lunches (just convenient skyr yoghurt, fruit salad + water) plus it is giving me a mini workout too (especially lifting + loading junk/garden stuff, I can feel my heartbeat and work up a little sweat!)

October goals -
health:
carry on with mfp food logging / eating wisely
stick at this new gym + beat my nervousness at new things / change / meeting new gym buddies
life:
finish off the old house and put it up for sale  (cannot believe I am so close to this stage!)
continue instilling upon my child that we do our school homework the actual night we receive it  had a shock yesterday when I saw she had a book to read, some writing to do, practise for a spelling test and a bit of shape maths - luckily we did it all at my folks after lunch on their huge table so it was a fun environment for her  ;)
get to spend time with my husband more - we have been like ships in the mist the last few weeks - he has had longer work hours due to work buddies visiting the UK from the USA, lots of meetings and then the group evening meals... more again this week. Will see if he manages to get Friday afternoon off so that we can do our lunch date!

ETA:
November:
visit to the PCOS/Diabetes clinic to assess my weight etc. I want to weigh at least a whole stone (14 pounds) lighter than my visit earlier in the year (where I had only just started the gym thing and had so much health-improvement to do!) I am waiting to see the doc's reaction to my health improvement lol!

ok, enough ramblings from me, this post has turned into a saga!

As the post scroll like the sands in an hour glass, these are posts of the arena.  Wow I feel old. That sentence is a variant of an old intro to a USA soap opera called days of our lives. Good luck with all. It sounds exciting

Okay, I was SUPER slack last week, and managed to put on 2 kgs, which was two weeks worth of weight loss. I'm super bummed, but I think it was a bit of a combination of stress, stress relief, and maybe hormones? I'm breaking out like crazy. Tomorrow I'm getting back on the wagon!!! It's been raining all day/night, so I'm thinking maybe just a workout inside, but a morning one, then an afternoon one, but more area focused to take strain off of my knees in particular.. My joints have been aching with all the temperature changing craziness. It's been in the high 30's on sunny days, but then dropping down to below 14-16 degrees in the rain! It's FREEZING right now, I'm in my winter PJs again, rugged up in my fluffy gown with a hot cup of tea typing this! So today I got motivated, I got some really pretty nail polishes, so I have cornflour blue nails right now, so cute!! They match my planner, so I'm reminded of my tasks every time I see my nails. Whatever works...

My month, I must say, was pretty good overall. I'd give it a positive rating, I have been enjoying having healthy food, and doing exercise, but I've been struggling a little the last few weeks with motivation. I think my weight gain has really pushed me back into it again though - I did amazingly for the first 5 weeks, and then undid half of that again in one week, which has been a huge eye-opener, and I'm more determined than ever not to let it happen again. This month will be better, I'm sure of it!

Great goals Glitterball. Stormness 1  I feel the same way. I was doing well with walking and everything until I became ill and then I got off track and have had a hard time getting my motivation to be healthy back. I'm not sure what kind of a healthy day it's going to be for me. I woke up ill again this morning.

Thank you Crowning Glory. Hopefully there is something that can prevent it from happening so much. I'm beginning to feel like I am always sick. Despite not feeling well I still managed to eat a pretty healthy breakfast and evening meal. I went a little unhealthy at lunch  but ate a small portion at the evening meal so overall a healthy day.

Great job on staying healthy even sick. A ne diet can cause system changes where you feel sick, but your body working with change. Stay positive as part of feeling sick is a having a bit of the blues. It happens to me too.

Thanks Crowning Glory. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster right now.  Up days and down days. I had a pretty good day yesterday ate mostly healthy and got a lot of steps. Probably around 9.000  I couldn't get my step counter to stay on so I took it off but it said I had almost 8,000 by noon but I always subtract some because it doesn't count right. I also ate pretty healthy and refused an extra Coke.

Today my respiratory issues are not doing well. I have been up since quite early this morning dealing with them.

I am with you ponyfan. This round for me has been up and down. You made some good choicr, you have to be proud of the...i need to be making better choices when I am down.

So I can't sing. I have been aiming for 4 days strait and took a break...and I am still not up to par. So I don't have much confidence for my audition tommorow. Some days I tried to work out some not. This audition did inspire me to play more, so I need to be performing more. I had a long break from performing due to many out of my power things, so not sure how to get back into performing.

3/100 points to open up big Mack, or get soarin.

Funny note...i finally made the points for my watch. I have yet to wear my watch as I forget to put it on in the mornings:)

I'm sorry that you don't feel like the audition will go well.  Whenever I was really sick and lost my voice or had a really bad sore throat the last thing to return was my singing voice.

I used to love to sing but unfortunately  I had some people who told me I wasn't good or showed favoritism to relatives when picking soloists and now I'm pretty shy about singing in front of people.

We all have up and down days. I'm usually a pretty positive person but being sick all the time is really getting me down especially when it interferes with work.

I'm sorry everyone is sick.  If it's a cold, drink pineapple juice.  Seriously.  It cuts down the length of your cold to be from 3-5 days depending on how early you catch it.

I don't know if gargling while attempting to vocalize will help your voice return or not, Crowning_Glory13, but if your throat isn't sore I don't think it would hurt anything to try it.

So the "Step it Up" program finished and my work won the $300 prize.  Yay us!  I have no idea what we're using the money for but I hope it's something fun and not something lame.
