Pony Corral / Re: Accessory price checks

G1 Pic:
The hat and the saddle are from the Pretty Parlor.  Both are not worth much, maybe about 50cents.
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Pretty_Parlor

The shoes are G3, not G1.

The two brushes are probably not worth much either, unless they’re from a rare pony.  Try this site to ID combs/brushes:
https://mylittleponyaccessories.weebly.com/

The bottle’s also not worth much.

If the diaper and box are in excellent condition, together they’re probably worth a dollar, maybe a little more.

G3 Pic:
I don’t know the G3 loose accessory market at all, if there even is one really. So I’m sorry, no prices.

The long pink comb is G1, not G3.

The raincoat is an exclusive from Disney Build-a-Pony.  http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Disney_Build-A-Pony

The large pink brush is probably from one of the oversized So Soft Newborn ponies.
https://data.mlpmerch.com/g3/series/so+soft/

The necklace is from Crystal Lake:
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Crystal_Lake

The green felt skirt and the orange plastic butterfly wings are from the Butterfly Island playset:
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Butterfly_Island_Adventure

The bead clips, the clips with ribbons, and the blue glitter comb are probably from some Styling Ponies(probably at least a few are from Styling Rainbow Dash):
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/G3_Rainbow_Dash#Styling_Rainbow_Dash
https://data.mlpmerch.com/g3/series/styling-ponies/

The pink with fur trim hood is from the Christmas pony Mittens II:
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Mittens_II

The little pony charms were free bonuses that came in some of the first G3s:
http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Kimono

I’m not sure who the rest of the combs/brushes are from(it’s HARD matching up G3 combs/brushes to their correct ponies). I think the large blue brush is non-pony though.

I don’t know what that dark purple/magenta thing is.

I got the striped Tea Time from Bridget’s Mum(founder of the Arena). The other four outfits came from a single collector. I think I remember her telling me that a friend of hers either lived in India, or was visiting, and they found a small cache of Indian ponies and accessories in some random store somewhere. I think it was old store stock or something.

Thanks for all the well wishes for The Bun!  Her name is Fizzgig after a character in the Dark Crystal. She’s…very sick. She has multiple chronic issues from GI issues to a heart condition, and she keeps crashing randomly.  She’s been in and out of the ER vet constantly since February.  She was hospitalized 3 separate times for a total of 9 days during February and March.  This last visit was rough one, but she survived!  Poor little thing:(

There are 3 Argentina DnP ponies.  They come with similar but not quite there accessories.

I dug out the ponywear bin last night, and pulled the Indian ponywear.  Pics will hopefully be up soon. I’m at the ER vet with my rabbit again today, and that’s usually an all day mess to deal with.  Hopefully I’ll be able to take the pics in the next day or two, and get them up soon after.

Yay! The Bun survived today!  So I was able to photograph the Indian ponywear tonight.

Indian Best of the West
The bridle fabric feels like leather and has a dirty silver shine to it. The hat feels like it’s made of eggshells. It’s the absolute most delicate pony item I’ve ever seen.  It makes Flutter pony wings look positively sturdy. I store it in a padded box. I can’t imagine many these surviving long. I have no idea how this one managed to.

Indian Parade Pizzaz
The saddle has very Indian fabric and accents.

Indian Pony Royal
The fabric on this one is silk-like, including the “fur” parts.  Most Indian fabrics are this silky texture with very saturated colors.

Indian Tea Time #1
The fabric and accents on this one is 100% Indian.

Indian Tea Time #2
Another incredibly Indian fabric and lace.

These are just the Indian outfits. I have all sorts of Nivana ponywear including Greek, Argentina, Brazilian, Peruvian, Japanese, and even Spanish Piggy outfits.

The Dance ‘n Prance pony is one of the Argentina DnP ponies.

There are two kinds of mini ponies.  The more involved ones(they have actual brushable hair made from embroidery thread) are hand made by someone who used to be on the Arena, but I’m not sure of she’s still here, or if she’s still making them.  The Rapunzel in my avatar is one of these.

The smaller ponies and the mini UK dragons(those microscopic dots in front of the actual dragons) are 3D printed/hand painted, and from the same person who makes the playsets, which are also 3D printed/hand painted. They were on Etsy, but I don’t think they’re still selling the playsets on Etsy. I’m a member of their Patreon, and that’s where a lot of their playsets are from. I think these days you have to be a member of their Patreon to purchase any of their mini pony items.

Some of the mini playsets are from unreleased playsets like the Flutter playset or the Petite pony wedding playset.  Some of the playsets are the alternative versions(Megan’s Place, UK Waterfall, etc). Some are just themed for holidays or just for fun.

A friend of mine went on a 2 month European trip(she saved for years). She was all over the place, and she kept emailing me “I found ponies!”

She hit a lot of the Nirvana locations, and kept telling me she was finding ponies. Visions of Greek babies, Mountain Boys, and Spanish piggy ponies danced in my mind. I finally got the box - all G2s(and one extremely ratty Greek Minty).

Now, at the time, I wasn’t into G2s at all.  But a gift pony is a gift pony and is to be cherished no matter what, and the box contained the full first wave of G2 babies with their little outfits. That was it man. I was hooked.

When I went to Paris a year later, I found the Paris TRU(and other toy stores), and I went NUTS.  I’d leave in the morning, and come back to the hotel at night, carrying huge, huge sacks of G2s.  The front desk people all laughed at me, and there was more than one snickering French conversation in the lobby or elevators while I was staying there.  I’d spend the night opening them because I needed to condense them to a more reasonable form to get them home.

Those G2 babies are a gateway drug to G2s.

A few quick collection display pics(sorry they’re wonky). I need to dig out the ponywear bin to get the Indian ponywear, and I hope to get those up soon.

I got a bunch if these when they were new.  They were sold at a handful of Hispanic supermarkets in my area, and I picked up all I could carry:p  I also got the ones that came with furniture as accessories, the ones that came in plastic purses, and I think I got one of the Babyzillas. I didn’t realize there was so much interest in these. They were such a weird little blip in the G3 line.

She’s not ponywear, but she’s cute!  I already had these pics. I’ll take pics of my collection stuff a bit later.

Will any of those hosting sites allow me to post pics in this thread without signing up for the paid version?  It used to be such a basic part of image hosting, but now every place I’ve found that could do that is locked behind an obscenely expensive paywall.

I miss non-evil Photobucket, and I miss the Arena gallery service:/
Those were the days!

I’ll try to post pics if I can sort out some form of solution to this problem.

I got all three of the plushes from Amazon about a week ago.  I’m in the USA, but they came from the UK.  All three came in higher quality zipper bags that had the 40th anniversary logo and information on them.

Sadly, ever since Photobucket turned evil, I’ve had a hard time finding some place to host pics.  The Indian ponywear is crazy though. It’s obviously closely based off the same outfits we got in the USA, but it’s also so unmistakably Indian, I almost expect it to cause any pony wearing it to break out into a Bollywood style dance number:p

I believe there were only three(Blossom, Cotton Candy, Bowtie).  I got all three when they came out.

I think they came out at the same time with two sets of keychains by (I believe)the same company. One set was Rainbow Babies, and one was TAF Babies, and both sets were plastic ponies with brushable hair. All three sets had three ponies.  I used to shop at a local anime store back in the day, and all three sets arrived at the same time.

I believe there were other items(more key chains, cell phone straps), but I’m not sure how many were in each set.  I also don’t know if there were multiple waves of key chains or cell phone straps, but I’ve never seen a second wave of the plush purses.

I had a few significant pony infusions:

I got an upgrade MO Dabble and a mint TE Quackers for my birthday.

I got a lavender Woosie, an actual 80s carnival prize mirror, and some other G1 merch from a friend who was selling at the SoCal pony fair(I was unable to actually attend due to being a high risk household).

For my anniversary, my husband got me one of the Lil Litters rabbits complete with accessories.

For Christmas, I got MIP Argie Cool Breeze, the purple Argie Dance ‘n Prance Argie Baby Posey, the G2 painter(complete), Flutter Pony Tropical Breeze with wings, and another complete Lil Litters bunny.

Throughout the year, I also got some random accessories.

Pony Corral / Re: Thoughts about upgrading ponies.

Ponies tend to have different paths in my collection, usually determined when I get them.

Childhood ponies, gift ponies, and ponies that get associated with particular happy memories stay in the collection, regardless of condition.  If they aren’t in the best condition, I will upgrade, but I keep both.

Ponies that I buy that have no sentimental attachment,  and are in less than acceptable condition, get tossed straight into the trade bin. I don’t even try to bond with them though I will clean them up to truly assess their condition before consigning them to the bin.

Pony Corral / Re: Is this a G1 MLP Accessory?
« on: September 09, 2022, 05:09:55 PM »
That’s not an accessory that I’ve ever seen, from any generation.  I collect accessories and Ponywear from all generations, and I specialize in all Ponywear, especially Nirvana Ponywear(aka the weird stuff), and I’ve never seen that before. I have no idea what it could be. I have a passing familiarity with other girl’s toy lines from accessory lots, and I haven’t seen that one before.

You could scrounge around Ghost of the Doll and see if you get lucky. You can’t search for things like that on the site, but if you spend enough time going through the pages with a fine toothed comb, you might spot it in a picture.
