These are both so sweet! I love the one with Locket, the concept is great and I don't find her eyes creepy at all. No more than twinkle eyes usually are, at least :P

Baby Lickety-Split looks so excited - then again, I would be too, if I saw an ice cream of that size

Cute, the world needs more flutter customs! I also loved this character design in the film. Her eyes are so pretty!

Great work on AJ, you captured her personality well! And good to hear that about your scanner, sometimes it's trial and error until you get the results you want!

Still debating on changing/updating the thread name (can I even do that?) as this seems to be where I'm putting my pony art to share on the arena.

Sure you can, just click edit on the original post and you should be able to change the thread title, too. Or PM any of us art mods and we can do it for you :)  The original name will always be displayed in the replies so there is a track of the editing history in that sense.

Pony Corral / Re: Who's your fave? G3 2003 Winter Ponies!

I don't have any of these winter ponies, but my pick would be Snowflake too. I also love Candy Cane for her cheerful Christmas colours! It was a bit difficult to decide between the two.

Cool designs and great work on those detailed symbols, portraits are never easy even when it's cartoony characters!

My little sister and I were PlayStation girls but we got to play a Sonic game when we visited my parents' friends, their daughters were older than us and they had a Sega console. :D  (They also had the Show Stable and some cool ponies!!)

"Not good at people"... Pfffft! She looks amazing. I love the way you sculpted the folds in the fabric, and her cheeks are so cute!

Off Topic / Re: What are your favourite comfort shows?
« on: February 02, 2025, 02:16:45 AM »
I just realised I don't rewatch a lot of shows, some of the ones on this list are something I've only watched once or are still on-going and therefore don't really fit the definition of a comfort show...(?) In any case, they are my safe shows in the sense that I know what to expect (emotion-wise), they put me in a good mood and/or help me calm down, and are ones that I definitely would not mind watching again if I needed a show that felt like a warm hug.

Downton Abbey
Queer Eye (the "new" one)
All Creatures Great and Small (prob all adaptations but particularly referring to the new one, we just finished season 5)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I only saw it for the first time a few years ago but I'd love to watch it again soon, and I can totally understand why people view it as a comfort show! I do, too, even though I didn't grow up with it)
Supernatural (same here, I'm currently watching it for the first time with my husband who used to watch it... we're slowly ploughing through!)
2 Fathers (a silly Taiwanese show with a gazillion episodes, I watched it once but I'd definitely put this on for comfort)

Like Beth I also always enjoy 90s-00s sitcoms like Frasier, Friends, That '70s Show...

Arts & Crafts Corral / Re: I draw ponies!

Wow, these are amazing! So much eye candy. I absolutely love the Star Catcher x Morning Glory pony, I can't get my eyes off those gorgeous tropical colours! And your ponysona has such a pretty design, so soft and dreamy.

Some words of critique since you asked for tips to improve :) I very much enjoy seeing how you've been exploring different styles in these, the artwork definitely reflects your joy. :lovey: If you wish to take your art to the next level, I would pay attention to anatomy and perspective. Especially the shoulder, elbow & barrel area is something that can be more challenging to pin down in certain poses or angles. In my opinion it's a good idea to follow the general principles of horse anatomy when drawing ponies in order to make them look natural, even when heavily stylised. I know that in official MLP art (and the FiM show in particular) these rules are sometimes broken and that's fine, too, if a more human-like expression is desired. Anyway, I find that using basic shapes when sketching helps to avoid anatomical issues (and I still often get it wrong and realise it too late, haha :D ). But I think it's wonderful that you're trying out different things, dynamic poses and more unusual and challenging angles. You're very good at capturing the sense of movement and personality! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

(P.S. Mod note - I locked the accidental extra copies of the thread, I kept the latest one as I saw you had edited it, I hope I made the right choice!)

What a stunning set, pandabear! :dribble:  I love their hair and the symbol designs are brilliant. Do they have names?

Ah right, I didn't check the full thread for context, didn't remember these were Crystal_Sushi's designs. You did a fantastic job bringing them to life!
