I hope we'll get a lot of the brushables. I like what I'm seeing so far, thanks for the side view of the face. molded hair is not for me, but I can't wait to see more pics of these!

They seem to have a hard time translating the movie model faces onto the merch and toys. Front facing, the eyes seem really wierd both here and the previously seen bedding.

I noticed that too, they just can't quite get that front facing view right. hardly the first cartoon to have awkward front views, but it sticks out more here since they keep showing the ponies from that angle instead of just avoiding it and of course it's impossible to avoid it on a toy to begin with. I hope they straighten that out soon.

The yellow one looks like it might be a boy.  The head shape seems a little more angular.

Neat!  I'm glad they're throwing boy characters into the mix from the get-go this time.

The first set from the FiM line was molded hair.  I really like the hair they have on the one brushable they've shown so I hope they do more, too.

the front face mold is definitely a weird design choice.... i'm also not really a huge fan of the factory paint!
however, it does look like they would lend well to customizing, and repositioning the eyes that way! i don't see any pronounced
divets where the eye should be on the mock-ups at least.

I would have been ok with the heads if they had gone the early G4 route and gave them thicker necks with the back of the head lining up with the neck instead of sitting on top of it.
Also, just for the customizers sake, I hope the rooted head is a squishy doll head and not a hard plastic dome like G4.5. With a new face-up they could have potential to look G2ish.

I'm thinking of the head shrinking and stuff they did in the MH community and wondering how long before someone experiments with one of these.

It is really interesting how like G2 the bodies seem to be in proportion and also with the idea of poseable and not. I also hope for more with lots of brushy hair. That will probably win me over even though I'm not sure I like ponies looking like they can make disney princess faces.

I agree with this assessment.  Still loving the body designs as toys but the head got weirder...

I'm hoping these are bigger than G4s. I think G2 size would be really nice for this style.

I'm glad it's looking that way. Hopefully this will be the death of the disturbingly graphic side of the MLP fandom, I saw a tweet a few minutes ago that had screenshots of the infamous disgusting MLP fan forum where we got leaked info of the G5 pony names (if you know you know) and they seem to be HATING G5, so great sign! I also hope that the movie and subsequent series are appealing to children and families of all ages without pandering to older audiences like late FiM did. I hope they realize that this franchise is for children first, everyone else is just along for the ride.

I don't particularly like that hard angle of head to neck connection, it just looks like the head was forced onto the wrong body, it just doesn't quite look right to me.
