It's really difficult to get the mechanism back into her, so I'm keeping the two parts divided until I can decide whether or not to rehair her. She looks a little freaky right now...the mechanism is attached to her head by 2 wires kind of Frankenstein's Monster-ish LOL. I was going to make a video to post on YouTube after everything was finished, but I'll take a snap or two and post them on here just as soon as I can :)

Hello, all! I am a HUGE fan or Princess Rinse n' Spit (a fakie with a big toothy grin for those who don't know her.... http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Fakies#Princess_Rinse_.27n_Spit ) She has been a grail of mine for some time. Now I finally got one (with more on the way!!) a beautiful fuchsia girl who is missing her mane and tail. What she DID come with was her mechanism inside! So, me being me I took her to an electronics shop and had her repaired. Thankfully the wires just needed soldering and her speaker was in perfect working order. She now clip clops, whinnies, AND the light on top of her head works! It actually flashes in time with whatever noise she makes and is red, not green or clear as I thought it would be.
I just need help from you guys. Should I rehair her or leave her bald? And I if I rehair, should it be the same colour she originally had or should I give her a new colour (or colours)?? I'm also thinking about making her tail hole bigger for a more lush tail and a new line of hair for a fuller mane. So I guess I'm wondering if I should simply bring her back to her original glory and keep everything as is, update her look, or just allow her to remain beautifully bald?
Thanks for your ideas everyone!!

Pony Corral / PC Stardazzle, comb and bracelet?
« on: December 04, 2017, 02:52:42 PM »
Hello, all! Looking for a price for Stardazzle with nice, pink hair, pink "blanket", comb and intact bracelet? Not sure where her key is...I am willing to separate them, so individual prices would be appreciated, too. I've never had one of these girls before, so I know nothing about them! LOL! Thanks all!

That sounds so neat, Taffeta! Thank you for taking the time to find that for me. I think I'll start nicknaming my little Bourke's parrakeet "Uta" when she sings to me or when I want her to sing. I call her different names when she does different things for me...it's quite confusing to people who don't live with us! LOL

You can try the peroxide and sun method. The sun won't further burn her because the UV rays won't be able to act on the plastic. Putting the peroxide in the sun simply increases the change of the peroxide to water and oxygen (that's why it's sold in a dark bottle and not a clear one) The whitening action is due to oxygenation, not bleaching (which is what putting her directly in the sun does). It isn't the UV acting upon the plastic, but the sun acting upon the peroxide that works.  It acts pretty quickly, so do it on a sunny day when you're home all day so you can go out and check her often.

EDIT - The peroxide turns into water and WILL intensify the rays of the sun if left out, plus the extra oxygen created will have dispersed, so the oxygenating action will be exactly the same as regular tap water...so pretty much nothing. The conversion of peroxide into water and oxygen will only take a few hours.

I read this whole thing and I think it's fun! I really enjoy different people's differing interpretations of things, especially historical and mythological histories (including present day religious ones) so this thread is right up my alley, including the passionate discussions! Taffeta, how does one pronounce "uta" in Japanese? Do you say it as it is written?
I also like when new words and meanings (like "fridge") are introduced to me, especially when they're patiently explained as well :D I sometimes feel a little old myself when people say things like "headcannon" and "trope". Learning new stuff is exciting for me! So thank you, everyone, who used new language on this thread!

Your Peachy looks almost identical to mine, right down to the stage of the spot! It's nice to know that what I call a Rare-Common pony is appreciated so much by others and not just myself! My present goal is a spotless Gingerbread. I think I may have a Holy Grail task on my hands which may very well take just as long. LOL

I kept an eye on pony lots on ebay, and finally won a lot with her in it (and she was a big reason I fought for it, lol!). So I'm interested in her value too since she's harder to find (I lost count of how many Peachy's feet I examined close up, lol!). But like Chipster said, I guess individual value may depend on who's looking.

I adore my girl, too, seashellnbubbles! Something special about the FF's :)

I looked at many a Peachy foot, myself! She's in nice condition...a couple of faint spots, but with a Flat Foot I'm not going to super picky. What condition is yours in? It took me a few to find one that wasn't *too* banged up...LOL. Not picky, but picky enough.

I have a beautiful FF Peachy and was just wondering what she normally sells for should I ever wish to replace her? I haven't seen on in a while, so I wasn't sure if she's more valuable or not, or just the same as a regular Peachy? Thanks all!

A lot of people I've spoken with actually prefer the non-permanence of the Kool-Aid dye because it isn't forever. Some people despise re-pinking, so if you're planning on selling the pony on, it gives the new owner the option of easily getting rid of the new pink and bringing it back to white. It's all about options, I think :)

Whoof...those are quite the ponies! I knows most of the European ponies go for much more in North America, especially the Nurse ponies. UK Princess Sparkle (a personal favourite) doesn't seem to be as popular and I'm not too sure why. I'd keep an eye on the big Brothers....I can't remember if those two have a Spanish variant, but they're much more as well. Sorry I can't be more help...you may find more info in the Nirvana section, however. Good luck!

Personally, I absolutely love the variation in paint colour. Maybe I don't want a loud pink Fifi...maybe I like her better with more subtle colouration :D I like some of the funky Peachy's I've seen kicking around on the internet. I like faded pink hair on some ponies. However, if you're looking for what the "actual" colour is supposed to be, I'd independently research what ponies look like mint in box or mint on card (not the ones with yellowed plastic domes) Those will show you what they were meant to look like. Honestly, you can't even go by the old ads from the 80's on TV or in print, because those were often completely different in style and colour than the items that were sold (I'm looking at YOU non-beddy-bye-eyed Baby Sundance)

I put the playset into a garbage bag and put a container of baking soda inside and sealed it up. It worked pretty well!

I'm in the middle of doing an experiment with different nail polishes and application techniques. I used a clear nail polish to fill in scratches and scrapes on badly damaged Twinkle Eyes, and am trying some various polishes and even an applique that I found at the craft store. We'll see how it goes!
