Zero feedback seller+ great items = to good?
« on: December 21, 2012, 01:29:37 PM »
Last night I found a couple great lots of ponies! Ponies that I REALLY REALLY want. I bid on them immediately! Then I went back today to check my status and stuff, and realized the seller had no feedback )hmm) These lots are bound to go high. Then I realized that she was selling 2 of the same set......in PERFECT condition.  :lookround:

What do ya'll think? I wrote her and asked if she had feedback anywhere else. Waiting to hear back. I have an icky feeling though..

Well, just keep an eye on your paypal 45 day window, worst case scenario, you just won't get the ponies you wanted, but you'll have your money. Everyone has to start out somewhere though, and it's possible it's a person who decided to make a new account for various reasons :)

I got a mail back from her. She sounds very nice. She says she's never used ebay before and usually sells via craigslist. Shes not a pony collector so didnt know what other channels to sell through. But the thought or her having 2 mint sets of reasonably rare/expensive ponies still makes me uneasy.

You are right of coarse about the 45 day window. I admit I've never ever files a complaint with e-bay or paypal so I'm not really sure how that works?

She did ask if there was anything a new seller could do to make buyers more comfortable. I can't help thinking of asking her to send first? Is that totally out of line? I doubt she'd go for it in any case. I have perfect feedback but I still don't think I'd trust that suggestion if it were reversed...hmm

You could ask her to send you a pic of both sets sitting next to each other?

oh I always bid on new sellers items, so far I have always had great products for cheap (as everyone is sceptical), normally first sellers go out of there way to get great feedback so post fast, charge honset shipping etc.
Further more even scammers at the start strive for good feedback so that way people trust them and they can royal rip someone of later.
I would say bid :  )

I'm glad to hear she is communicating with you and that she has done what she can to make you feel more comfortable. Chances are that everything will turn out fine :)   Everyone has to start somewhere, and as long as you keep an eye on your 45 day Paypal deadline, you should be ok and you wont lose your money if the item never shows up.
wishing you all the best with the auctions!
