Introductions / Back once again!
« on: October 28, 2013, 12:59:26 AM »
Hey guys! I haven't been around for a looooong while due to college and then moving, but I'm finally settled in my own home with lots of room to display my ponies. I just started unpacking them a couple of days ago and stopped by here this morning to see what the latest news was and saw that the Fair is going to be in Nashville next year! I'm only about 2.5 hours away from Nashville and my dad lives downtown so I won't even need to get a hotel room so that's very exciting. I missed the Fair when it was in Kentucky a few years back and have regretted it ever since. I just have to convince someone to go with me now.  :P

Here's a little bit about me since it's been so long since I've stopped in. I'm 21 years old and a nursing major in college. I work full time at a small family owned hotel and live in a farmhouse on 89 acres in rural Kentucky. I mostly collect G1 and G3, but I do have a few G4 ponies because of their easy availability. I just bought my first Monster High doll so if the collecting bug hits I will probably have to check out the Monster High Arena.  I have a 8 month old Doberman puppy and 3 cats, so life at my house never gets boring. Now that I have the funds and space, I'm so excited to start collecting again. See you all around the boards!

Another Slytherin. :) I don't remember my username, I only really got an account to be sorted. :3 Boyfriend is Hufflepuff, best friend is Gryffindor - which I think is ironic and hilarious. I may actually start using Pottermore, and if I do, I'll post my username here. :D

I did it back in '08-'09, and lost a good 5-10 pounds without working out at all (bad, I know). It was before the new point system and I think I got 21 points a day. I really enjoyed finding low point options to my favorite foods. A great thing about WW is that many foods have the points on them (Skinny Cow does I think, and SmartOnes is a Weight Watchers brand I think). I really liked it and would consider doing it again!

I'm also planning to get my naval done, once I overcome my severe hatred of my stomach XD

Ya know, my belly button piercing actually made me feel a bit better about my midsection.  I have always been self-conscious and I was afraid it would bring attention to it (even though I know I'm not bad by any means, it still bothers me).  But now when I look down, I see sparkles and it makes me feel a little better.  :)  Love your shape, and all that.

This! I hated my stomach from age 10 until I had my belly button pierced at 17, and then I magically didn't mind it as much. I'm almost 20 now and actually even LIKE my stomach... it's very strange.

I'm very into body mods... I love the process of being pierced (not the pain, just the anticipation and adrenaline) and the aesthetic of the healed piercings. I currently have:
-belly button
-nostril
-3 lobe piercings in left ear, 2 in right
-tragus
-rook
-helix
...for a grand total of ten piercings. My first lobes are stretched to a 6g, which is just big enough to have fun with while still being able to wear standard earrings sometimes. I plan on getting an industrial or a conch at some point, and maybe a philtrum ("Medusa") or a tongue web.

I don't have any tattoos yet, but I plan on getting "I love you" in my boyfriend's handwriting on my shoulder if we get married one day (which is being discussed). I'd also like another small piece, but I'm not sure what yet.

I will definitely be sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts to the sanctuary and everyone else affected by the fires. That's so scary! :(

I got mine pierced in January and actually thought it was fairly painful, but absolutely worth it! I second everything BrightSide said about care except that when you use Tea Tree Oil you should probably dilute it with a carrier oil, such as Vitamin E - I have heard horror stories about Tea Tree melting paint as it's such a strong substance! Also, if you have sensitive skin, be cautious using an aspirin paste. The most gentle way of removing hypertrophic scar tissue (the "bump") is with chamomile tea bag compresses. They also work great for any irritated piercing!

One thing I always mention when someone gets a nose piercing is to make sure the initial jewelry is a stud and is long enough to accommodate swelling. My stud began to embed in my nose before my trusty piercer, Tommy, bent it to custom fit as I swelled more than expected.

Good luck and enjoy your piercing! :)

Makenna Greer is my current top choice for a girl, and I love Declan Michael for a boy. I also really like Ireland for a girl... my friend and I were looking at a baby name book at the nail salon and that was just so unique and edgy. I also really like Flannery Teal for a girl, and Norah Jade (but I probably can't name a child Jade now - my best friend is named Jade!).

Oh wow, I love her! Really impressive use of pointillism. So intricate. I love that she has the flowers on both sides. You did an amazing job.

I want to be friends with whoever drives that car. I saw a car with a vanity plate that said "NOM NOM" last night. XD

Oh man, I have always loved Pokemon. I was in kindergarten when it first started getting big, and got a Game Boy with Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Pinball for my 6th birthday, and then Pokemon Snap for my 7th. My favorite is Pidgey and it's evolutions. :3

My measurements are very similar to you and some of the VS Pink stuff fits me well, even mediums. I think the cut of stuff has a lot to do with it. :) I know I had to buy a small in a hoodie because it was oversized and I promise you I do not wear a small! Lol.

I'm 19 - 5' 2" and a size 8-10 and I get a lot of my clothes from Forever 21 (lots of cheap basics) and Old Navy. I agree with everyone about just making a day of it and trying on all sorts of stuff. I know a lot of the jeans at Forever 21 are cut for more pear shaped women it seems like. They're sized weird but they are usually like 10 bucks and pretty decent quality. Try some sundresses too for summer! I love the look of a sundress with a cute sweater, and flats. A dress would also compliment your shape. :)

I am SO excited. I have been waiting for this movie for a year+ now! My best friend and I have tickets to see it at midnight on Thursday, and I have a Katniss and Peeta tee shirt and a district ID badge I got for free from CafePress via Facebook. I hated Mockingjay, but I love the first two books!

Also, this is cool, my friend went to high school with Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) and knows him personally. Blows my mind.
