I found G1s at an anime convention and both brony cons I went to, one stall at each. Otherwise, I don't see G1s at toy shows or cons unless I'm selling them. The collectibles shop I frequent just got in their first G1s in 3+ years.

You do run into them every so often. It always cracks me up when I get someone at a yard sale wanting a fortune for some common pony like Firefly. "This is a valuable collectible MY LITTLE PONY" I'll here. Um, yes, but... not THAT valuable lady. Like $10 valuable on ebay, tops- and generally people want to pay a little less at a yard sale...
I had someone literally look up prices of something on ebay, right in front of me, when I expressed interest in it at their yard sale, and rejected my yard sale offer, claiming she would like basically ebay price. Guess she realized they weren't as valuable as she thought and took em back inside. Also this guy should be reported for fraudulent listing/information.

Gingerbread looks more gingerbread colored. Firefly looks like a more mature pink, rather than a bright pink that doesn't match her personality.
Faded pink looks good on some ponies, particularly white ponies whose air becomes pure white.

I'd name the orphan baby Salad because I'm pretty sure that would be a unique baby pony name.
