Am I the only collector who doesn't like the Pony Friends? Love the ponies, don't care for the companion animals that much. Don't think I have any in my collection yet...
You're not alone starstrider. I don't really care for them either. I probably would like them better if they were in molds like Brandy, Spike, Duck Soup, Twinkles and the Bushwoolies. It's the brushable hair that I don't like. I think it looks unnatural.

I've never regretted buying a pony, but I've regretted paying too much for said ponies. It's one of Murphy's Laws though, isn't it? No matter how long or hard you shop for an item, as soon as you buy it you'll find it on sale somewhere else for a better price. Happens more often than not, I'm afraid!
 I know, I hate that!
THIS!!! However, I always rationalize that there are other ponies I got for a good price - so it all balances out in the end.

Okay, so I may have the answer. The bottom of the catalogue states that the specials therein are from the 13th of September. It's still too early, stock mustn't have been received/shelved yet. Or at least, I HOPE that's why I couldn't find any of the pony products yesterday! Because just look at how gorgeous these babies are!!

Wanted her so much as a kid! In the UK she is oddly called Moonshimmer. I like the name better but it doesn't really fit...she should have been Sunblossom...
I like Moonshimmer better than Twinkler - but definitely would vote for Sunblossom! Her colors remind me of Butterscotch. I always wondered why there weren't more golden ponies... I do have to mention that I have her (I think that's a first for me in POTD) with her earring (although it broke and has been glued back together).

I wish you would have had better luck at your yard sale but perhaps it's fate telling you those ponies were meant to be sold here  I understand your frustration with PayPal but there are a lot of great people on this site. Maybe you'd consider giving it another chance (selling is different than buying) so your ponies can find awesome new homes.

The only thing I remember * really* wanting as a child but not having was Majesty and the Dream Castle. I was going through a serious unicorn phase and I had most of the other released at that time except Twilight and Majesty. The castle was too expensive so I never got one of my own. My neighbor had it though, so I did get to play with it but it wasn't the same.... I have Majesty now, but not the castle - it's still a little out of my budget. I keep hoping I'll get lucky and find one locally (almost had one a few years back but someone else beat me to it). Fingers crossed
