I really want to know if my Fluttershy and Applejack are just oddballs....

Where did you get yours from?

My Wave 4 ones came when I bought the whole case from Toywiz.com a few weeks ago.

I haven't found Wave 4 yet, but here are the Wave 1/2 and Rainbow Collection ones I have to compare.

Wave 2 Fluttershy on the left is slightly darker than the Rainbow Collection one on the right:

Unfortunately, my Wave 2 Applejack and Rarity are appartently lost in the mail; so, I can't compare those. 


I'd love to know for sure how the Wave 4 ones compare; so, I'd know whether to pick those up as well once I do find them.

My Wave 4 ones came when I bought the whole case from Toywiz.com a few weeks ago.

Interesting because I got mine from a seller in China in a lot.  I went digging to make sure Thoth and I did not mix them up, and found the first shot I took of all of our wave 1/2's together.  And we did not mix them up.  I wonder if mine where not in fact wave 4 but maybe ones that where supposed to into the Target sets?  Now I need Wave 4 to show up by me so I can buy them and compare.

Oh and my wave 1/2 came from overseas, they where not brought stateside.  Not sure if that makes any difference.

I saw someone mention in another thread that a Canadian Hasbro rep had mentioned blind bags should make it to Canada in the next stock. I think it was Catlein who mentioned it. So fingers crossed

I bought the rainbow set already for Emerald Ray, and I've had these in hand twice(Crystal Mane 6 Wave 4), and can't decide. $15 is a lot for me since I really only want the cards that weren't in the rainbow set.

I'm sure if they linger long enough I'll buy 'em out of boredom, Hasbro sure does know how to market these crystal ponies to asinine degrees.

I used to have a Fluttershy that was a very orange yellow color. I had another that was a pale yellow.. and another that was a normal yellow.
@__@; I really didn't keep track where they came from, and I don't have most of them for a comparison shot anymore. But the orangey yellow one always struck me as odd, as she was almost the same color as wave 2 applejack but just more yellow.

My Fluttershys are also the reverse but it's not as significant a difference as for the other ponies and really more noticeable in person than in pics.

Rainbow Collection - light

Fluttershy and Applejack were in Wave 2 with no US release; so, being from Europe can't be the difference there. 

I may have to go ahead and pick up Wave 4 Applejack and Fluttershy just to be sure though who knows how long it will be before they show up around here (Wave 3 has begun to surface though).

my applejacks... from wave 2 and wave 4 are both lighter then the target set, and the wave 4 is darker then wave 2.... but there's no way I could photograph that... lol it wouldn't show up and I'd look like a loon... but most of the other comparison's are spot on.

When I look at how many people seem to have differences I do wonder how much of it is down to good old batch difference after all - with perhaps the only distinctly purposefully different set being the Rainbow Collection from the  wave 1/2 and wave 4 ponies - each of the latter sets varying depending on when and where they are released without an obvious pattern?

Fluttershy: Wave 2 very clear yellow with a bit of orange, Wave 4 very yellow, Rainbow Collection similar color to Wave 1 but cloudy

Pinkie Pie: Wave 1 light pink, Wave 4 and Rainbow Collection look identical to me and very bright pink.

Rainbow Dash: Wave 1 lighter than Rainbow Collection's deep blue. I still need Wave 4.

Rarity: Wave 4 and Rainbow Collection look the same to me. I need a Wave 2 to compare, since I've seen pics that look much more transparent.

Twilight Sparkle: Pretty much the same, Rainbow Collection has a slightly redder tint to it in-person

PS: If you get confused on which of your crystal mane six are from the Rainbow Collection: Wave 1/2/4 have a printed number on the bottom of a hoof, Rainbow Collection do not have a printed number on the bottom of a hoof.

Wishing now that I would have picked up the wave 4 Fluttershy and AJ  I saw last week but I thought they were the same as the rainbow collection ones at the time so I left them at the store....
I really like that lighter Fluttershy.
