Mysterious marks, is this something to worry about?
« on: October 31, 2016, 02:00:53 AM »
So, I took to looking at some of my ponies that were in my husband's glass case a little bit ago (since they're in there I don't take them out often) and noticed some marks on my Flutterbye. The problem is I got her like 4 years ago and my memory is NOT good, so I can't recall if they were there when I got her (one by her symbol seemed familiar at least). Anyway, the pictures!

There is also one on the under side, between the two front legs. My $600+ phone doesn't wanna focus right so I couldn't get a clear shot, and it's why that last one is blurry...  :pout:

They kinda look like pen/sharpie marks to me, but I really don't know? Luckily I'm able to pop her head off and I don't see any of the marks coming through on the inside. Just because my memory is just awful I don't recall them always being there and I'd rather get some other opinions on what it might be so I know what my options are.

Those are age marks - otherwise known as pony cancer.  Totally normal for a 30+ year old toy made of PVC.  And no, there's nothing you can do to remove them - it is the natural breakdown of the plastic.

Oh that's a relief, I have another pony with age spots and they looked different in comparison so I just wanted a second opinion. But in retrospect two different color ponies, with different levels of age spots might have thrown me off, eheheā€¦ thank you for quelling my curiosity!

My Masquerade and Galaxy have them, but they are still so beautiful I love them. First I was scared like hell, I thought that it would break appart my ponies, but it is their way to show how long they have been here.
