Catrine hasn't been released just yet, but she is set to be an exclusive to Walmart. No word on an exact time to start looking for her, it could be any time from now to early next year.

So her name is actually Catrine, not Caterine? I used to always write Catrine, but then someone said it's supposed to be Caterine, so I switched to that, but the card does actually say "Catrine DeMew" so I guess that was the correct spelling.

I used to spell it with an "e" too, it just makes more sense visually when she's meant to be a tribute to Catherine Deneuve. The actress's name is pronounced "cath-rin" though, so I suppose the character is pronounced as "cat-rin."

I'm pretty excited about her! But I hope they hold her off for a while. Last year after the holidays our local Walmart barely restocked Monster High for about 2 months, and I still need to hunt down the Picture Day, Dance Class, and Scaris dolls.
I am going to be so broke. :P Dang it, Mattel, releasing all these awesome dolls at once.

This is a first for me, I don't know which I like better the doll or her purse lol. I love how it looks and it's detail. I loved the other releases,but she is the one I want the most. I like Tropical_Sunset's idea on them making a nicer less mischevious were cat, I like the doll versions of Torelai, Purrsephone and Meowlody, but I don't care much for their characters so maybe Caterine is going to be more likeable on the web episodes if she shows up in them? Who knows still looking forward to her release though..

Voting on a nice werecat :) I think she is just so beautiful! That and I think the main antagonist for the Scaris movie will be that fashion designer they are supposed to be apprenticing for. I think there is something.... not right about her.

Yeah, I got that same Cruella DeVille vibe off her. So my guess that her being the main antagonist is most likely.

I was just so biased b/c of the whole cats/dogs - werecats/werewolves thing the webisodes and movies established up until now.. And since Clawdeen is supposed to be the main character and she was only shown friendly with Jina and Skelita in the current trailer I kind of expected Catrine to be their over-competitive cut-throat contestant. Maybe realizing what she did later on and then becoming nice to the other girls and a friend in the end. ;>
However, I would not mind a nice werecat! It would surely break up with their current stigma of being 'the mean guys'. :>

No problem. We don't normally get things first in Florida, but we are pretty good on release times. We've already seen the deluxe Scaris dolls, but not Fearbook or the Budget Scaris dolls. Anyways, I don't have a problem helping, especially for you, Zombelina, you're so sweet and you've helped me out numerous times :)

People call her the proper version because Catrine is the Anglicized version like Katrine or Katrina. That is why they called her that because people do not know how to pronounce French names like that. Mattel was a bit lazy when calling her that because since she's a French cat, they figure Oh let's call her Catrine, similar to how we called the other two PURRsephone and MEOWlody. No originality there. At least Toralei has a decent werecat name. Not bashing you Icecrystaline, you can call her what you wish, but not everyone will feel the same about THAT version of the name, hence why Squirrel is calling her Mew. :hug:
We just don't like that version of the name. But as I said you can call her what you wish and others can call their dolls what they wish.

At one point I even thought of it as Cat-Rine. Cat, then Rind like the outer layer of Cheese. Since she is a cat...from France...which has a lot of cheese...which is where the Rind part of her name would come from. :P I'm an idiot. :lol:

I cannot wait for her. I will probably loose control of my bodily functions when I see her on the shelf. I hadn't really noticed before but I really love all of her accessories and styling, which is really unusual. She is slated to model one of the gowns from my 'Spring Collection' so I have to have her by then XD

It's Catrine, but a lot of us do not like the anglicized name as you can see, we prefer the original French or Catherine. Others prefer Catrina or Catrine but it was like they didn't even attempt to find an appropriate name without making it sound like a corny werecat name like they did for Purrsephone and Meowlody (who if I get Purrsephone will be Persephone and Meowlody may get a more suitable Greek name).

my walmart has TONS of GR abbey. I had stuck one on layaway along with rochelle, and robecca, and i finally got them all paid off. still there are TONS of abbey on the shelf lol. i actually thought they'd be gone by now, but they aren't.

my walmart has TONS of GR abbey. I had stuck one on layaway along with rochelle, and robecca, and i finally got them all paid off. still there are TONS of abbey on the shelf lol. i actually thought they'd be gone by now, but they aren't.
It could just be that there's a scalper (or more than one possibly) in my area. I never really thought about the possibility of scalpers around here, but now that I think about with it, the stores tend to be pretty wiped out most of the time. I do see dolls around, but usually only the RM dolls, SS Ghoulia, 1600 and GR Clawdeen and DDG Lagoona. I'm guessing whoever is buying all the dolls up doesn't think those will sell.

Scalper or crazy holiday season shopping?!
Hard to tell. There were....maybe 50 dolls on the shelf at TRU on Friday, all Picture day and Scaris Clawdeen plus SS Ghoulia and I went in early yesterday morning and ALL of them were gone except one SS Abbey which I hadn't even seen...and three GAlive Clawdeens. So they did a little stocking, sold out and sold out.
The funny thing was about 70% of their dolls were PD Draculaura...... :shocked:
At 26.99 and all the Cleos with misprinted eyes....@_@
Also! I got a coupon from frys marketplace saying Ghouls Alive were 21$ so I took that in and grabbed one of the three Clawdeens that were left on the shelf... instead of paying that nasty 28$.

I think in my case, it may be scalpers and not just Christmas because it was still summer when I started collecting and the MH dolls were wiped out just as fast. I don't think people started their Christmas shopping that early, but I suppose it's possible, especially with so many stores offering layaway now.

Although Jinafire seems to be getting the thin stick of shipment case assortments. And some scalpers grab carts full of one/two things.

Not necessarily. She's just Walmart exclusive in the US. She could be exclusive to another store in other countries. It's just that no other stores in the US will have her.

And I don't mind picking up extras for folks so they can avoid eBay prices, if they happen to be numerous at my Walmart :) I'm just hoping they actually get them. Their section is soooo tiny! I'll probably have to drive to different stores :(
