This poor girl... she appears to be growing things.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

Eww 8( I have a Glory that's very similar to that. It doesn't come off with scrubbing, does it? With Glory, nothing I did got rid of her spots, but a several week long soak in hydrogen peroxide outside in the sun lightened them considerably. I never did finish the experiment though, so I don't know if leaving her out longer would have fixed her completely.

I haven't tried anything yet.  I am going to collect ideas before I start on her as I have never experienced this before.  I'm not sure about soaking her in anything as I don't want to wreck her glitter symbols.

First:

A good bath!!!

Scrub her softly on her symbol to try not to damage the glitter.  I'd recommed using gloves =P

Hey Foaly Patroly

Ewww... where did you find her?!  It looks like mould? Her head looks the worst, so I would pop it off - you can at least soak that without risking ruin to her symbols. I reckon you could bath her first - much might come off with just that, and then soak at least her head in an oxy bath. If you're patient enough, you could dip the rest of her body in too, holding her butt just out of the water so the symbols aren't affected by the chemicals? Otherwise like suggested in the above posts, a gentle scrubbing around the symbols themselves?

Good luck!

>waits for after shots<  :D

Hi Marlin, how are you?  She's one of my recent Trade Me gambles, I could only see her hair in the picture... although she came with a Baby Squirmy who I think will scrub up nicely!  (And a SS North Star who has mouldy flocking... ugh).  Lucky for me, I like cleaning ponies!  Except for pindot, nobody could possibly enjoy cleaning that.

I wonder if I could develop some kind of pony crane to hold her bum out of the water while she soaks.  *ponders*

I'm trying the peroxide method mentioned on some of mine. I have not finished with it yet, but have been shown some amazing results. I would say after an initial scrub you might try that? I dunno my ponies with glitter have shown more resistance than expected at first.

I am no expert on cleaning ponies.....BUT - I have tried all sorts of things over time - including lots of advice from the Arena.

I think you have to work out just exactly what the yuck is!!   -_-

We had a leak in our roof last summer and mould grew on the inside ceiling. My trusty little cleaning book said Oil of Cloves will kill the mould. It DID and apart from the paint on the ceiling being a little rubbed - there is not a trace of mould any more......(fixed the broken tile too which helped!)

This would protect the glittery symbols as it isn't an abrasive chemical?
Not sure if anyone else has tried this on ponies.........

ANYTHING will be good for poor Windy!!!  :(

What I would do, since it looks like it is mold... Do a really quick bleach bath (about 30 to 40 seconds), then do a soak in oxi-clean bath... I wouldn't worry too much about the glitter. I've done ponies with glitter symbols in an oxi bath and not had problems with glitter lost or too much lose at least (but each pony is different!) I'd also scrub her down every now and then while doing the oxi-bath.

As far as fading her, she -can- be peroxide fade but I'd take care. I had success with my Baby Moondancer who was covered in cancer, but now it's tolerable. However I cannot put her in harsh sun for too long now or she gets tanned :|
My DeviantArt, why not drop by and take a look!

first i would take the head of, clean it first with a magic eraser or shampoo and toothbrush taking the top out layer of yukky off and then i would greatly boil that head in oxy clean/nappy-san and see what happens, then deal with the body after that since the head is way worse

You could take the extra step and customize her into a zombie pony?
