Poor Sundance is riddled with these all over her body.
I can't tell if it's a rust spot, mold, or cancer.
:/

I tried acetone but the spots wouldn't buldge.

If it is cancer, I'm going to bait her and put her in a plastic display case.

What is cancer in this context?

Cancer is basically the death of the ponies original identity. It's a brown staining that occurs from a form of mold. so far there is only a treatment to arrest the spread of it, but no cure for it. It can be passed to other ponies if not treated.

Ponies with Cancer really only have hope of being baits unless they find themselves in the hands of a collector that isn't picky about that sort of thing.

There are differing opinions about cancer in the MLP community.  I believe that cancer is a breakdown of the plastic, pigments/materials used in the manufacturing process, or the plasticizer used to make the plastic soft.  I have kept ponies with cancer in my colection for over 10 years and have never seen it spread to another pony.  It may get worse on the same pony, but that's it.  Many of the same ponies (Quackers, Chief, Sundance, Mimic, some other BB, etc) seem susceptible to it over and over again, while some ponies have never been seen with cancer.  This leads me to believe that it may have something to do with certain pigments or additives used for certain ponies.  Sundance is common and coupled with the cancer, I would vote to bait her.  Good luck! :)

And how can you tread the cancer?

I have had some Mild success at arresting the spread with the following treatment:

1)Boil the pony in water with mild dish soap
2)Thoroughly clean the pony (inside and out if possible)
3)Treat the pony's body with medium strength athlete's foot cream.  (after experimenting, I found the weekest strength didn't work. I haven't had time to test the strongest formula.  In fact I have one pony that experienced some lightening of her cancer spots with the medium strongest combined with sun light- but she was the only pony I've tested that sees to have responded really well. Most ponies I've tested have negligible lightening with this.  And I still need to run more tests.

I would say bait her.  White ponies are great for baits because they are easy to repaint.

I baited her last night, but into a darker shy pose G1 pony.
I'm pretty proud of her, once I finish re-hairing her I'll post pictures.
Thankfully she wasn't my display Sundance. <3
I would still be bawling if it was my special one.
