Title: Peruvians with short manes?
Post by: kellyponyfeathers on February 06, 2012, 05:45:06 AM: I keep seeing some Peruvians (like unicorn Bow-Tie) with short manes. At first I figured that they'd been trimmed. But now that I've seen several that are all like that I'm starting to wonder if short manes are normal for some Peru ponies. Can anyone enlighten me? Are there several that are like that?

Post by: Oneleo1 on February 06, 2012, 12:06:02 PM: I have had 3 Peru Moonstones (down to 2 now), and all 3 had shorter hair. Peru Windy has shorter hair too (just short of touching the ground on display, maybe by an inch)

But my peru Glory has extremely long hair....both mane and tail.

Post by: kitkatvintage on February 06, 2012, 12:12:04 PM: I think it's a quality control thing. A lot of shorter mane Peru ponies have turned up that are otherwise in excellent condition, so I think it may be factory.

Post by: baby_SPLOSH on February 06, 2012, 12:45:28 PM: Yep, they were most certainly fabricated that way,,Ribbon, Windy, Moonstone etc. Also some were fabricated with straight or slight curly hair and some with super curly (a lot of tiny curls).

But when I keept seeing the same Peruvians with exactly the same hair length, I started to wonder if that was normal for some of them. Looks like some even have several variations, like Firefly with regular straight hair, long curly hair, and short with really curly hair. And the YouTub commercial that shelti posted even shows some of them with short hair, so *shrug* I guess it's normal.
