Ah, yeah sorry. I thought you meant you needed shards for freeing ponies. I just got the "collect magic shards in the crystal empire" quest today.

No worries. I have all of the Crystal Empire shops and mostly get laughter shards. I didn't get any magic shards in the first magic quest. I wish shards collected in the Mine Cart game counted too but they don't unless it says "collect shards in the Mine Cart game>"

IIRC, magic shards collected in the balloon pop count, so long as you access it from the crystal empire.

I just restarted my game after a long break. All friends are gone ;.;
I've added some of the codes I could find in this thread! Mine is f28d2a0
I also installed one on my phone, just in case I get bored in the train or something xD the other is on me tablet. That code is a6987a2 (I'll keep it until I figure out how to transfer the one from my tablet to my phone)

Has anyone been able to get the magic shards for the minecart quest? Do you have to pay gems to actually get them in the minecart game? Would it be better to just skip the quest for 7 gems, or pay 2 gems and play? I already have one shard for winning it as a reward for hitting a certain score mark, but that won't happen again for awhile.

I think the magic shards are pretty far in to the mine game. I did see one today when I was playing but it was the first one I had seen for a long time.
Still working on shards. I won shards in balloon pop today but they didn't count towards my total shards in the Crystal Empire.

MsMedley, I just skipped the quest.  I didn't see any magic shards in the mine game, and I played quite a few times.  I think they are really far in too.

ok, finally moved on in the rara quests.... do you need to get the stage, or can i skip it and buy it later?

If you go back a few posts, it was said that in the Rara questline you really should buy the orange stand, the cider mill, the stage, AND obtain Countess Coloratura. There are several quests where you need these shops, and her (which is why you need the orange stand), any by the time you spend the gems to skip them you might as well buy them. In fact, there are a few quests with them you CANT skip.

finally done with Rara Ponies ,last pony  has pretty cool colors, Reminds me of Star swirl color combo:)
the CE quests are very slow , gems in the quest ,are slowly counting here and there , I bought that Sofa, LOL , I liked it hope someone uses it later ,I doubted it.

Me too.  had spend some gems to get enough points but still happy to have won a pony.

I've apparently been unknowingly hoarding crafting supplies for a while, so far I've dressed up AJ, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie I had to open a crafting box because I needed just one button for the last piece of Fluttershy's flutterbat costume  . I've still got plenty of the other supplies just completely wiped out of buttons at the moment.

I won Goth Unicorn via the minecart game last night and I'm down to needing one musical note to bring the breakdancer home and completing the Rara ponies.

I won the goth pony, and got Jem and Sailor Moon ponies too.  Some of these costumes have been so useful in the mine cart games since they up the score by up to 35%!
