I ended up getting the Chocolate shop in ponyville ,being that it was 60 % off  and I had only AJ working on the jackets for the last Coloratura dancer,I have now pinkie on the task too , only 8 left to get it
getting the last dancer pony , completes that collection and gives me another pony , so I figured the 60 gems were well spent

the quest in the Crystal empire is tricky, you have to be there to begin the task with Twily and be there to finish it I think,  I was sending Twily to the same tasks from other areas, but they did not count at the end for the quest in the CE location.

I'm pretty far behind everyone, but that's ok. I only need two more glasses to get the manager and have 118 globes.
Anyone know if soari  ever goes on sale?

Nightmare Night is here!  Re-load the game for the update.  The What's Hot collection is the CMC's, Granny Smith, and Big Mac in costume, and the contest/activity is to dress the Mane 6 up in costumes, one per day.  1sat day is roller derby Pinkie and nets you 10 Gems, a NMM banner, and some crafting materials.  Start generating crafting stuff now because some of these costumes require ABSURD numbers of buttons.  But the prizes are Jem pony and Sailor Moon Pony!  :O

How do you get more crafting materials? I spent 15 gems to buy more and only got 1 extra button.

How do you get more crafting materials? I spent 15 gems to buy more and only got 1 extra button.

5 gems gets you 3 crafting boxes with 3 'random' materials. Mostly flowers and buttons. 2-4x a year you can net double the materials per box, (3 boxes still, but with 2 of the 'random' items inside). Ihave actually done well collecting ribbons and bows with that promo.

The balloon pops also will randomly spawn crafting materials in a balloon. But its really rare.

There are also special, social, and solo events randomly to earn extra crafting materisls. Those seem to pop up when there is a time-limited costume set to complete, though its NEVER actually enough to complete the costumes and win prizes.

Of course you can just buy the bundle packs with crafting materisls in them....but wheres the fun in that???

Thanks Ponytails. I love the Jem pony but don't think I will be able to get all of the outfits.

Yeah, I agree. I spent some gems and couldn't even get enough for one outfit. I think the requirements are ridiculous. I just wanted that silly platypus outfit for Apple Bloom but I didn't want to waste all my dang gems.

What a waste!! The costume ones are the worst, and such a waste of gems.

  I want Sailor Moon Pony SO MUCH!!! BUT yeah, I'll never be able to get her unless I want to spend real $$  I have enough crafting material for Pinkies outfit, then I'm out of the rare stuff. So there's no way I'm going to get enough in time for HER!! 

Sometimes you can watch a video to get one free crafting item. But I think it will only let you if you haven't used up your video watching the video for the day on something else like getting a gem.

Ugh. I had to reformat my phone, and I'm trying to get them to restore my game. Seeing the Sailor Moon pony just broke my heart. I'm going to miss her.

I wish they would make these goals attainable. Those costumes and prize ponies are adorable and its not like it costs them anything create them. There should at least be a way to earn the non-rare materials fairly easily. The difficulty level just sucks the fun right out of the event.

Really? All I ever get is buttons, I have 14 of the dang things!! I also got some flowers from the solo event. I'll still never have enough to get these cute new ponies though
