yeah that's what I was afraid of, thanks Kat! I think I'm going to leave her how she is, I tried to get the mane to lay down, we'll see how it turns out after I take the papertowel off her, at least then it won't be sticking up straight lol

I do plan on keeping tootsie and hopscotch, I would prefer them having non trimmed forelocks, I just want to make sure it won't devalue them significantly... If it will I will keep them as is and look to upgrade them someday

You know, they did something awhile ago, where there was a test, and it would give you a name and you'd have to decide if it was a Stripper name or a My Little Pony name. . .

Gee, I wonder why?  Hahaha.
our radio station often has a contest for concert tickets called "Pony or Pornstar" they give you a name and you have to say whether it's a My Little Pony or a Porn star >.> I try to call in every time, because they can't stump me XD

a few I remember they used was Baby Cuddles, Cherries Jubilee, and Lickety Split
I played multiple versions of that game, but sometimes I get a couple wrong because they're G1 names :s and i'm not too familiar with G1
g3 and g4 are the ones I'd have trouble with, I know most of the G1 lol

Okay... so I have a few ponies that have trimmed forelocks.. two are UK ponies..

Hopscotch
White Tootsie
Tex - US regular release

Their forelocks are basically mohawks... but the rest of their hair and bodies are in pretty good shape... I want to rehair the forelocks to fix their noticeable flaw... but I want to know if that's going to hurt their value significantly if I decide to sell them in the future.

Right now I am planning on keeping Tootsie and Hopscotch, but as I already have a near mint Tex, I'm planning on selling him.

Here are Pictures (please note, I haven't cleaned their bodies yet, most of the marks should come off the bodies):

Tootsie has a few other spots in the mane that have been cut, but it's not as noticable and sits pretty well with the rest of the hair

Tex is gorgeous exept for that stupid forehead mohawk

Hopscotch does have a shorter mane, I believe it's been cut as it's uneven, and her tail is a bit shorter than it should be too I believe... I have considered a full mane rehair on her...

I also have an Italian Moondancer with a mohawk, I'm considering rehairing her mane and replacing her frizzy tail, but again... how would that affect her value? Would a collector rather have original hair in bad shape... or new hair?

awesome! so what I gather is, wash, condition and then very very carefully and patiently brush from the ends to the neck in small sections and eventually I'll have pretty hair again hopefully, thanks everyone!

brushing stage done, thanks for the help guys! I could use some more advice though, if there is a way to straighten out those super frizzy ends that just don't look quite right

The hair looks like it will fall apart, and it's a matted up mess... isn't it supposed to just look like poofy hair? it's so hard to describe the disaster it is, but from other pictures I've seen of other people's perfume puffs mine looks terrible...

But I should be able to brush it carefully? I was afraid the hair would break apart and come out if I did, I'm not sure how sturdy those fibers are.

26
So I got my very first perfume puff, but her hair is a mess.... I don't even know where to begin, or if it's saveable at this point

Poor girl ... how do you fix that hair? I'm terrified to try and brush it or wash it, it's dirty and seems like a big mass of cotton...

Here is some before pictures after cleaning her body and I just started brushing the hair a little:

Okay so I finished brushing the hair out... but I'm not so happy with the ends on it, and I'd like to get the mane to lay down... someone said I could iron the hair I think... Will ironing it get it to be a little less poofy and straighten out the frizziness at the tips of the hair a bit? I'm assuming it needs to be on the lowest heat setting? (I use a clothing iron usually on the nylon setting)

Here she is now:... I think she might have had a hair cut too?

Yup I will be posting pics of them all cleaned up, some won't get done as they will go inm bait box and some may get their own topics cause ill need advice on restoring them

28
yeah I've pretty much figured out that's what it is, and since there are multiple pieces rattling around in there I'm sure the whole inside is rusted and the tail washer is probably just a mass of rusty pieces.

I've got lots of experience taking the heads off, I'm a customizer lol :3 boil the head really good and be super careful with an xacto knife :)

29
thanks! I've been working on cleaning a bunch of them up, it's going well so far

30
thank you! :3 he is wonderful
