I agree. Its ridiculous that we have a brand new region and we only saw one native pokemon. Rainbow Rapidash is cute though.

This is a Ponyta. I think it's important to make this distinction because the end of the stream apparently hints at a Rapidash. There is a Rapidash cry and the two Ponytas look up at the sky. Implying that Rapidash might be a pegasus.

Then by your standards, the guinea pig thing is just a galarian Pikachu, considering they have roughly the same body and face and not because Pokemon has its own distinct style that causes design similarities or anything. Also by your standards it could be a Galarian Rapidash since regional forms are a bit different in looks and typing.

And why couldn't it possibly be a new species? We have plenty of Pokemon that are dogs, cats, pigs, monkeys, foxes, seals and rabbits. If it is a new species, it would be the 3rd unicorn. Remember Keldeo?

Could even be a split evo.

You have to look beyond the horn. The "new" Pokemon clearly resembles Ponyta.

It's true that the Pikachu clones often break the rule I mentioned (like Plusle and Minun look like two Pichus), BUT note that those are Pikachu clones. That is a specific type of Pokemon that they make similar.

If you see this happen elsewhere, it's different. Galarian forms are a confirmed feature in this game. This Pokemon resembles Ponyta in every way except for the mane/tail (and the fur near the hooves).

I'm bringing this up because this means that there is likely a Galarian Rapidash as well, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Galarain forms are confirmed? No duh! Its not like they haven't shown Wheezing or anything. Oh wait they did.

Its got a horn. Ponyta doesn't. That's why its called Ponyta instead of Unita.

Its still not concrete proof of anything either way. As I said, Gamefreak has stylistic similarities in MANY of its pokemon designs. Its not the exception its the rule. All artists have their own recognizable style with design similarities. This isn't relegated strictly to Gamefreak.

See the difference between us, is that unlike you, I'm not saying it can't be a Galarian form of Rapidash. I'm giving out different possibilities for what it could be while your stuck on the face.

We can all agree to disagree.
Most of the Pokemon community say that is a Galarian Ponyta and are sticking to it.
What we can do is wait to see if the Pokemon Company will add to this page

There is also no need for anyone to sound rude to anyone else just because one person thinks it's one thing while another does. Just move on to something out till there is more confirmation

Horn or no horn, I'm inclined to say it's a Galarian Ponyta, too. The horn is the only Rapidash trait it has, calling it a Rapidash just because of that seems odd since this is hardly the only alt. form Pokemon to have something that its counterpart doesn't.

Until we get some sort of official info release, let's just agree that it's some sort of relation to the Ponyta line and move on, eh? Life's too short to argue over blurry screenshots of a cartoon horse

(also I would be ALL OVER a pegasus!Rapidash omg. I can't believe we don't already have a pegasus!)

It kind of looks like Celestia...

Perhaps like Zigzagoon and Farfetch'd the Galarian form of Ponyta can evolve into something more.  A pegasus would make sense as the next step in that evolution.

If it keeps the horn and adds wings we can all hail the new cotton candy princess
