It makes me so happy to see bettas in nice big tanks! I don't think I have a picture of my newest-- I've got a green marble double tail betta who I've only had for a couple months, sharing a 7 gallon tank with a mystery snail. I also have a 10 gallon tank downstairs with one adult guppy, a few babies, an ivory mystery snail, and a zebra nerite.

I used to have the most gorgeous black crowntail betta, two bettas ago. He was so pretty, but he only lived for 9 months before he died suddenly. Neither of the two I've had since then have been quite the same :( Since I don't have a picture of my current betta, I'll just share a picture of him instead :)

I  just got fishies over the weekend! Got them all set up in a 29 gallon tank. We have a Dalmatian Molly, a red claw crab, 3 snails, an algae eater, Angel fish, and an opaline gourami.

Gosh, I miss having a betta so much!  My last fellow died shortly before my family got our cat, and I haven't really wanted to replace him since I'm worried about the cat getting at the new fish.  My door doesn't lock so well, so I'd just worry about him all day.

My last betta was named Speed Racer and he was gorgeous!  He was a very, very pale blue, nearly white in some places, with very purple-ish tones to his fins.  He was stunning to look at and very active as well; a very fun fish to look at.  I was really sad when he died.

My first betta was named Alex, and he was very plain looking.  Just your average, blue betta fish, but he was still really pretty.  He actually lived for about five years (I believe, its been a while)!  The only reason he died was because his bowl got knocked down .  He survived for around 2 days after that, but was clearly unwell.  Until the bowl fell, he had been healthy as a horse.  I still feel badly about the bowl thing, because I think he would have lived even longer.

I used to keep fish, mostly Bettas, but I haven't been able to own any the last few years due to moving around too much.
For now I just have my marimo.

Such pretty fishies everyone  ^.^

I also picked up one of those "baby" bettas from Petco about 2 months ago and she grew into a young female.

And this guy. He was in sad shape at petco the other day. His cup was nasty and his color was so pale. He is currently living in a 2.5 gallon tank with a heater but no filter.

I need to add more decor to his tank - its kinda bare.

I only have my midas cichlid right now, this is an old pic of him. I eventually plan to set up my bigger tanks. I want to breed some spanner barbs and maybe some red pandas.

Here is my boy, Polaris. He's a sweetie, always loves swimming over for a visit (he currently lives on the storage unit next to my desk, in the office... in the hot summer he'll get moved to the bedroom dresser so he's not directly in front of the A/C in the office).

He also loves sleeping with his moss ball. Crawls in right underneath it.

I saw some tragically sad bettas at a shop today D: I've been thinking it might be nice to have fish again. I'll have to check my new apartment's policy on fish. I don't think they really care, but I'm probably not going to be able to get a very large tank so maybe a nice betta setup would work :)

A betta is a good choice if you can't have a large tank.  ^.^ Although I would suggest nothing smaller then a gallon for them. Most people say 2.5 gallons is the minimum but I feel that if the option is either have a one gallon that is properly maintained OR to die in a filthy cup at petco - the betta would much prefer to have the 1 gallon.

I have also seen some pretty neat smaller bowls that have live plants. So pretty but I would highly suggest a lid. They like to jump.

I tried the live plant thing with my betta soriety but I could never keep most of the plants alive.
