Vintage Strawberry Shortcake gifted to my daughter
« on: November 14, 2012, 09:56:19 AM »
A friend gave me some old SSC pieces for my daughter. Well my girl is only a few months old so she won't be playing with them yet but I'm wondering if I should store them somewhere so they don't get damaged. There is Maple Syrup and his cart, a Custard the Cat plush, and a little house in the shape of an iced cake topped with strawberries, it has pieces of furniture and some little figurines too. Do any collectors know much about these? Many thanks

I don't have any info sorry. I don't see any harm in putting them away and saving them for her until she's much older. Since she's so young right now she won't even miss them.

Yes, put them on a high shelf or stored in a tub in the closet until she is old enough.  A baby might rub the paint off of one of them and she might regret that later when she is old enough to play with them.

That is really nice of your friend to give her those toys!

yes I think I'll package them carefully. Thought I'd ask here in case there was a rare item - imagine the pony equivalent!

I'd put them away or display them somewhere high up for now.

There are rare and expensive vintage strawberry shortcake items and dolls.  If you post a picture I'm sure some of us could let you know. :)

I managed to find some examples on alocal auction site, it seems even MIB the house doesn't seem to fetch much. However, I do have a nice little side collection of 80's toys I have picked up so they will all co-exist :)...I really need a PB account I guess.
