Did you wash it with shampoo and conditioner? Being careful not to get the plush wet, of course. That might make it softer and easier to style. I would test a very small amount of hair to see how well it takes heat. If it's nylon then it shouldn't be a problem to do like a boil perm or soft curls. I guess it depends on how you want to style it
