The update is finally out for iOS! And it's already asking me to spend gems to complete quests.

How many gems, for what, is it skippable? - sorry for the curiosity.

To be honest I suspected as much. This game is really just a giant cash cow for Gameloft despite the "free" price tag.

Well, I assumed maybe 50-100 bucks at the highest for everything but the kitchen sink (which they don't offer, anyway...) - but 500 (and more if you buy the 'wrong' IAPs) for all is... visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The quests are skippable so far. At the moment it's only asked for 5 gems to buy a flower vase - I skipped it for fewer gems. At the moment it wants me to buy Apple Cobbler who is 100 hearts (skippable for 3 gems).

I'm actually pleasantly surprised as most of the Hearts and Hooves Day decorations cost bits instead of gems!

Yeah I can't afford Apple Cobbler... I only have the base 25 hearts. If you skip it do you still get her? Or does it just skip the whole thing entirely?

Yay I love the new update! Lots of new trees, bushes, flowers, and even fountains! Perfect for my new hedge maze!

I actually didn't skip anything since I was saving up some gems that I knew I was going to need for it anyway. Lovestruck is 600 gems though and you can't skip her. I assume she's the last thing for the Valentine's questline anyway. I still have the townhall to save up for too.

Whenever I clear a parasprite swarm, I put an item around where they spawned. It's hard because how the camera moves but it helps with the swarms, since that stupid 2 by 2 space thing comes into play. Or whatever the rule is. Would be nice for more tips/instructions, Gameloft.

I found the best way to prevent parasprite spawns (and you still should have some space for them because they drop gems), is to make sure there are no 2x2 areas. 1x1, 1x2, or 2x1 is fine.

I found this as an interesting way to prevent them, or you can do it with trees. It looks less ugly than filling every spot with road.

I've seen that and the checkerboard road thing. I just don't like it. I prefer a organic feel to town builder games. Like the area for AJ and her fam. I have Cheerilee, the apple stand, Braeburn, and the CMC clubhouse not too far. But then I build around that.

I usually fill spaces up with trees, ponds, or allow rocks and bushes to fill up spots. And water towers/windmills because I have SO MANY. Darn heart balloon pop, lol.

I'm curious, does anyone know what you get if you complete all of the Valentine quests? At the moment I'm not too bothered about completing them. I just upgraded my space and lo and behold, another set of magic parasprites. Rawr.

I've still got 300+ hearts left to spend, so when the other obstacles are cleared I'll buy the new ponies.

Is anyone else having trouble with their game loft friends no longer showing up in the friends section of the social tab? It's happened since the hearts and hooves update (which also means no more hearts being sent to or from me).

Heartstruck is on sale for 300 gems! I guess now is as good as any time to do some time traveling and parasprite farming.

So far I heard the following:
Romantic Vase - 5 gems (2 on airplane mode) - skip for 2
Romantic Gazebo - 30 gems - skip for 3?
Heart Pillar - 35 gems - skip for ...?
Lovestruck - 600 gems (300 on sale) - unskippable

Yes. Heard this pretty often. That's why I still haven't updated, I need some more hearts... made the mistake to heartpop all of them shortly before the update came out.

Completely unrelated to the Hearts and Hooves Day update but I've got Rarity asking me to buy the Quills and Sofas shop. 100 gems and it's not skippable!

I have not done many of the quests, specially when it involves buying stuff with gems and i do not spend my gems on anything related to quests, I just save them to buy the ponies and only that
thankfully the free gems offers came back with the update , but you get 2 per day instead of 10 like before.
