Raised Hoof Baby Glory - Rare Variant or Butt Common?
« on: May 11, 2012, 07:07:32 PM »
I posted this on Facebook, but figured I may as well post it here too...

Before I go putting this little cutie up on the 'bay, can anyone here tell me whether or not this was a common variant of Baby Glory?

Specifically note how her left front hoof is significantly raised so she is standing on only three hooves.

Did I just find a rare variant, or are these butt common?

All of that pose are like that.  She's supposed to be on 3 legs.  Sorry, but she's still very cute!

Thanks.  I was just looking over the one on Dream Valley and it looked like the one shown there on the i.d. tool had all 4 hooves on the ground.  Was pretty hard to tell, actually.

Still, in the condition she is in (except for a couple stains that need the acne cream treatment, it looks like she should still do pretty decently.

All the baby glory's I've had sort of tip over so it looks like she is on four legs.

As others said, it's supposed to be that way, but it really doesn't look intentional, does it? I mean, if her leg was raised, it'd have to either be bent at the knee or at a sharper angle away from her body. As it is, it just looks shrunken!

As a kid, I owned baby Beachball, and I really thought the small leg was some kind of factory screw-up. I was pretty surprised when I started collecting and saw by the photos on Dream Valley that it was normal! Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite baby pose, but I don't know what the sculptor was thinking with that leg!

This happens to every pony I have in this pose...they seem to prefer the "lean forward" to "lean back" position!

@Star Watcher - I would guess the one pictured on Dream Valley is likely to be likewise suffering from the lean forward infection!

Don't want to be mean, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Baby Glory is super, super common and even in excellent condition she's hardly worth more than $8-10. More likely $5.

I do really love her myself, though :)
