It's too bad people feel so negative about some of the things they have come across.  I know that even though I don't adore everything I see, it just makes for more excitement when I find the things I do like.  It's one thing to say you don't like it and it's another to say it's "lame" or "stupid" when someone else might really like it!  If someone does like something and hears that people (or even just ONE person!) says it's lame, it really makes it less likely that they will share the things they DO like about it and that means you might never see something you didn't notice before!

Yesterday I specifically went to Hot Topic to look for Pony stuff and was surprised that nothing really grabbed me.  I poked around the mall and popped into some shops I can sometimes feel uncomfortable going into since I feel like I don't fit into the demographic that they cater to...but I love ponies, so it's kind of hard to avoid.  And I am SO glad I braved the insecurity because I found some things that I absolutely LOVE.

First I went into a place in my comfort zone, Fuego, and found this dashing belt...

At Fuego I also found the earrings with the girls' faces.  I was so lucky to find all 6 characters and at buy 2 get one free?  I couldn't help it.  Since the earrings in the pair are identical, I just posted one of each to fit them in the photo.  I also popped into Claire's, where I found the full-pony earrings.  I have a bunch of piercings up my ears and was hoping that I could fit one of each on each ear but they ended up being too big.  I think I might make lapel pins or buttons out of them.

Back in the comfort zone at Michaels I found this sticker book and got into a conversation with the guy at the register about the Thunder Cats movie that is supposedly coming out.  It seems pony stuff, despite my hesitance to share my adoration with actual real-live strangers, seems to start interesting conversations.  Mostly positive ones too!

I highly recommend this book.  It has a few "activities in it but on the back of each are full-color pictures of the main characters and scenery.  I'm using the scenes as backgrounds to take pony pictures.  And then there are loads of really good stickers.  It's worth checking out.  They have coloring books and stuff there too, but this was a super find.

I really love the seat belt buckle belts. They're super comfortable and the designs are cute. I've got a Muffin pony one I bought from Hot Topic.

I completely understand having to go out of your comfort zone for the sake of ponies, though. I always feel really awkward going into places like Claire's but in the end it's worth it if I find something neat.

People are allowed their opinions in this or any thread - what someone thinks is lame someone else could love, that's certainly true. But no matter what it is, they can say pretty much what they like about it and if its an opinion about a pony product, as long as its not non PG-13, then there is no harm in expressing that opinion.

I ordered them yesterday (the mini set and the 9" ponies) and they're already (suppsedly heh) on the way... so... sometime between your post and my order, they went live.
