Title: Healthy Pony Summer
Post by: Crowning_Glory13 on April 19, 2017, 04:19:53 PM
I do not think I can stop doing healthy pony. You would think I was the healthiest pony but I am not. So I do healthy pony to keep me going towards healthy and helping others as well. Each round is a little different, so be sure to read, before you sign up.

1. Sign ups start today and go to May 1st.
2. You may start your healthy self at anytime, but this round will have a winner at the end. So we will have all of us start May 1st.
3. You may sign up after May 1st. If it's between May 1st and May 5th you are eligible for the prize. After that it could be hard to catch up. You can still join so you can be a healthy pony.
4. Keep comments constructive and positive. We are here to support each other.
5. Healthy Pony Summer starts May 1st to July 31.
6. You may adjust your sign up, as we learn what works and what doesn't:)

1. What do you want to accomplish by the end of Healthy Pony Summer? (You can have multiple things)
2. What are some steps you plan to make to reach your accomplishment.

CG sign up.
In 3 months I want to accomplish
1. Playing the piano 1 hour a day.
2. Work multiple knitting projects.
3. Work out 20min a day..or more.
4. Walk 7 days a week.
5. Recording my progress and calories.

My plan is to take small steps. Starting to play piano 5min or more a day and progress to longer times. I need to organize my knitting projects and need to give many projects my attention. I tend to focus on one project, ignore others, and for get what I was doing. A lot of unraveling going on. I want to be 130lbs. I am 180lbs (sigh it's hard to see that number) so I am starting to work out. I do walk almost every day. I want to keep it up and add work outs to loose some weight. I also want to keep notes and track of how my days are with calories and practices. I hope this will keep me on task.

How do you win?
1. Sign up:)
2. Rate your day. 0 for doing nothing towards your goals(we all are these days") 5 is going above and beyond. Example. Normal task play 1 hour of piano. I end up playing 2 hours.  So each day you give yourself a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
3. I will be giving 1 point to posts that are positive. Maybe you cheered someone's bad day or you posted about something great. The post shows you are actively participating in the discussion :)

Who has the highes will get a prize from me. If you would like to send some one a prize just send me a pm. If there is a lot of great participants, I just might send out more prizes:)

Feel free to ask questions:)

I want to sign up!  :)

What do you want to accomplish?

1. Keep working out 3-4 times a week.
2 Replace more calorie heavy drinks with zero calorie ones.

3. Lose some pounds

I want to keep working out when I can even if I'd rather do something else, watch my calorie count more and try to find a low calorie drink to replace at least one soda a day. That's going to be hard.

1. Not sure if this counts but I need to keep my studio clean.  It just helps me so much and it looks like it's falling into the same disaster it was in before.
2. Train twice a week
3. Hit 5000 steps 3-4 times a week
4. Improve my Muscle Mass, lower my body fat.
5. Ride a bike once a week, weather permitting.
6. Eat Clean.  I need to make healthy lunch prep, once every two weeks and plan out healthy meals throughout the week.
7. Get rid of stuff, junk and clutter.

I'm sure I can come up with a few more.

Greetings, everyone. Hi there, Crowning Glory. I suspect I owe you a photo, hm?  ;)

Anyway, I want to continue or restart some good habits, and perhaps some online accountability will help me keep at it.

1. Walk.

I seriously want to make it my goal that I will walk a half-marathon distance later this summer. In my health, I'm not sure if I can pull it off. The spirit is willing but the flesh (especially my flat left foot) is weak. Perhaps I will only make it to 10K or even 10 miles in the end, or something that's less than 13.1 miles. But I won't know until I try. So I'm following a training course that has me walking about 4 times a week. Three of those walks are around 3 to 4 miles, but the one big weekly walk gets a bit longer every week to build endurance.

One thing I've been doing for a year is to put away a dollar for every mile I walk. So I combined two good habits into one. Saving a little bit of money in a jar, and walking. I'm hoping to save up for a new bike. I was up to $300 in February and spent it on a Switch instead of a bike. (Darn you, Legend of Zelda! You hit me hard! ) So I'm starting over again. It feels good to see the jar get filled with some loonies and toonies and bills.

I'm not walking this week because it has been raining. Even snowing this morning.  :pout: But the sun will come out again sometime and I'll be off like a shot.

By the way, does anyone have an account with MapMyWalk? We could buddy up on there.  ^.^

2. Get the house tidy and maintain it.

I will make no secrets about my poor housekeeping habits. I lack energy and motivation, and a strong dose of general laziness added in, so I'm a "messy." I suffer from CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) for all my life and I'm a bit tired of it. So for the past two months, I've been using an app that keeps track of daily, weekly, monthly, half-yearly and yearly chores and I've got my home in somewhat better shape. It's got room for improvement, but it's at a state where I don't mind if a friend comes over. In the past, I have often been able to get the house clean when external need demands, but it's not long before I slip into old habits and the house becomes a disaster zone again. So I want to maintain the habit, continue making improvements, and invite my neighbor over on a monthly basis so I can tap into that needed external motivation.

3. Memorize.

I think it was two years ago that I started memorizing Scripture. I just simply wanted to, to prove to myself that my mind can retain. Improve my memory, and that sort of thing. Also use an app to help me with that. When that external need to tidy the house cropped up two months ago, I pushed memorizing aside in the mornings to clean instead. By the time I'm done with my daily cleaning, I just want to goof off. Either playing video games or watching YouTube or anything else that dominates my leisure time. I need to figure out how to best prioritize these two things, because when I spend a decent time doing one, I often don't feel like doing the other.

Are you familiar with the "spoon theory"? (I highly recommend looking that up if not. Good read.) That kind of applies to me, here. But it's also that laziness/lack of motivation/depression thing that is at play. If I post about it in this thread, perhaps that will help me tap into that need for external motivation again.

I may also memorize some other things in the future. Having lived in the Yukon for a few years, I have taken a shine to some Robert Service poetry. I wouldn't mind having a few of those in my head.

There's something pleasantly satisfying to stuffing your head with that kind of stuff and reciting it whenever you'd like, word-for-word.

BONUS GOALS

(Meaning I put a lower priority to do these goals, but if I can manage to fit them in, that would be great.)

* Manage my pony collection.

I want to thin out my collection. They take up space, contribute to the clutter, and just generally aren't as enjoyable as they once were. But what does an unenergetic, unmotivated person do to be free of them? The path of least resistance, usually. Well, I put a few of them in some grocery bags and gave them to the Value Village. I don't feel the least bit regret about it, but it's not the most ideal way. Perhaps there is a collector here in Lethbridge or even just southern Alberta who doesn't mind visiting Lethbridge who would like to have them. I'm not intending to give them all up. My sun collection will likely stay. I love my Sunny Dazes, my grail Sunburst, and custom Sunflowers.

* Adoptables

I was parted from my favorite art program, Paint Shop Pro 8, for a whole year. My son found the disc just last week. I missed it so bad and was pleased to reinstall it. Perhaps I can get lightly back into making adoptables. Maybe to keep from being deluged with requests at first, I'd just offer them to the people who participate in this thread. I'm thinking about it anyway. Plus, it would boost my participation here at the Arena, which has been lacking due to general burn out.

Anyway, I've spent enough time on this post. I need to get to my tidying. See you around.

I've not done this before but after sliding again I feel I need to be accountable to someone other than myself/my husband. Because he doesn't care. I do.  :P

1. Walk at least 1/2 mi per day.
I've slacked off but need to do better. That's about 4 full laps around my block. A vagrant camped out in the woods and I stopped walking due to fear but I think he finally moved on.

2. Exercise at least 30 mins per day.
I'll probably start off around 10-15 and work my way up. I'm trying to get my waistline back. I'd love to get my legs back too or lose weight but changing my overall shape back closer to my college image is my goal.

3. Do garden work at least 3 times per week.
This will be easier as the summer progresses. Wake, water, walk, weed, misc. work, breakfast is how I've done it in the past. It makes other stuff easier.

4. Clean at least one room, fully, per week.
Dusting, mopping/vacuuming, clearing, etc. and all. I did the bathroom yesterday and hubby asked if my family was heading over.  ^^; I thought about a per day goal of about 2 cuft cleared off of a surface with the week ending with the floor getting done. I'll add shelving as necessary.

5. Get my veggies from the farmers market at least twice per month.
I'm getting better and more consistent with freezing and preserving fresh foods myself as well as cooking with them. I need to take advantage of the super-fresh, high quality items I know will be there. (Farm fresh eggs... :dribble:)

6. Create and maintain a new workspace. By the end of the challenge.
I've had and demolished a number of spaces in the house for work use. Now our "bedroom" is where I used to use as a creation space and hubby's new cat refuses to socialize with my elderly one and requires the den beside it to run around. Two teenagers and a young child take up the remaining space and I have commandeered the sofas as a "temporary" measure that has gone on far too long, IMHO. The first steps will be figuring out where and trimming my copious amounts of sheer materials into an organized and useable mass.

I may have more eventually but these are the ones I want to start with.  ^.^

Yessss. and I should.
But I'd start the whole thing off with a 17day diet and... T_T; Oof. That's going to be a shock. (Plus I'm not quite prepared).

You could do it as a prep for that diet. Get your self on a good track before that happens:) can anyone tell I work in sales?
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Summer Sign Ups
Post by: banditpony on April 30, 2017, 11:58:03 AM
It's more like getting wet in a pool, i just kind of have to dive in. my breakfasts and lunches that I eat during the week fit into the diet... I just don't have anything to snack on. ...

Ok, I'm in. No point in waiting till the next one. XD

Goals: Kick it off with a 17day diet. Paleo for the remainder of the month. Reassess weight afterwards. I'm going to assume it'll be eat healthy on workdays (no/low carb) and whatever on the weekend.

Daily stretching for flexibility.

Hulahoop at least 3x a week. Starting with 5min and working up.

Walking at least 2x a week... This one is the one I'm unsure on because I kind of have obstacles with that.

I want to accomplish 1 size smaller in pants. :) Hopefully this is the last push towards that goal.

Ponyfan great job on the walk, sounds like a great start.

I thought i'd do some spring cleaning today, trying to decide if I should let go of some clothing I've been holding onto over the years.  Instant regret I can't fit into the shorts or pants.  I think it's time to donate them and start fresh.

My FitBit says I've almost walked 3 miles today. I'm doing heavy lifting while gardening (removing grass for a new garden bed) but I'm a bit tired for formal exercise right now. I need to focus on one room rather than just cleaning willy nilly as I normally do. I'll be on target if I do so.

Today is a 3/5. Not perfect but still decently good progress.  ^.^

Time for some Tylenol and stretches.

No walk at work or at home. It's pouring rain. I did knit at work and at home. So there is a plus. I have only recorded on the arena. I have a notebook and calorie counter I need to tabulate....sleepy. I did play piano 30min today. I did on Sunday too. 2 days in a row is a huge deal for me. I did no work out. Now I need to get prizes and a swap box done...i am so unorganized

I give myself 3/5 some good and some bad.

Great start everyone. Thanks for posting:)

YOU can still sign up. So feel free to join.

Day two of diet. I'm grumpy.

But seriously, it's really weird how many cravings I've been having (I was recognizing this before the diet). Can't for that to stop.

May 1. I didn't walk, but that's okay since I take 3 days off of walking per week. I did, however, hop on my bike and go for a 3+ mile ride. I got my chores done. I didn't review my memory stuff.

So I'll give myself a 3/5.

Today, however, I did review my verses. I even started looking over a new chapter.  I did my chores, too. I'm going to go on my 6 mile walk shortly. Since it's two hours until lunch, I should probably bring some of my snacks (apples, dates, nuts) and my water with me.

I'm pleased that I also started a new batch of water kefir yesterday. I had done it in the past, but last fall I fell out of the habit and how to throw my kefir out. I hope I can get the kefir grains to grow and multiply this time around, I've had bad luck with that. Such a healthy, pro-biotic drink. ^_^

EDIT: That walk was a bit of an adventure. I encountered a "micro storm" about 2.5 miles into it. I saw this one large dark grey cloud coming in my direction. Since I had my backpack with me, and I carry my foldable travel umbrella in it, I could keep my head dry. I was a bit salty, though, especially about that 2 minutes of hail mixed in. However, it lasted about 15 minutes and was over. A few minutes after, my playlist started playing "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone."

I sure am worn out now. :whew:

Holy cow....a storm HAIL....now that's a super star there. Cravings get me everyone. I have to watch or I will binge. I want starchy pasta so bad.

No work walk, but I got to walk after work with my husband. No mini work out. I did play piano for me that is 3 days in a row  so I did reward with opening one of my pony toys. Going to end the night with knitting.

I would say 4/5 keeping up piano is my biggest achievement.

Today was a 3/5 for me. Almost 3.5 miles walked today and for exercise I mowed the lawn (push mower + Tennessee "hills") but little to no cleaning done inside the house. As a plus, I have a much larger area to hoard plants in (hubby's term for my garden) and less grass to deal with. Tomorrow's task is to get burlap to protect seedlings and some outdoor fabric for a custom cushion.

I need to look up if the downtown market has started back up before I conk out for the night.

I give myself a 5/5 for May 2. Today is a rest from walking day. I'm waiting for the kids to get to school and the husband to get to work and then I will start my day officially. :)

I'd like to sign up!

Goals:
1: Walk 5 miles per workday to occur between the 8.5hrs of my shift
2: Weigh in 148lbs or less by 7/31.  This will require me to eat my daily diet M-F with a possible small treat on weekends, no extras during the week
3.  Drink at least 1.5-2L water per workday
4.  Knit one mitten set or hat per week to donate to charity

To catch me up on the last two days:
5/1
walked 2.45 mi
ate 564kcal
drank 1.5L water
started knitting a new hat
4/5

5/2
walked 4.46mi
ate 559kcal
drank 1.5L water
no knitting
3/5

So happy to be apart of this this time.  Last time I just lurked on the thread :P

I meant to sign up for this before.  Whoops!  I don't care if I win a prize I'm just hoping that having the accountability will help keep me on track.

Goals
1. Walk a minimum of half an hour on the treadmill at least 4 days a week.
2. Get room cleaned up so I can function in it.
3. Get art projects that I've started finished.  Seriously, I have 13 projects I can think of off the top of my head that I've started and need to finish.  But my messy room is keeping me from having space/motivation to work on them.  I'm hoping to have them all done (or close to it) by the end of the month so I can start the next batch of things.

May 3 = 5/5.

I got my chores done. And some other necessary stuff too. I reviewed my memory verses and even started on some new stuff. Despite it being a "rest" day, I had to get some groceries. So I walked 3.2 miles. It was glorious too. Soooooo sunny! :sunny: and warm! Makes me almost giddy.

Yup.  I've been knitting for maybe two years now.  My mom tried to hook me on crochet since I was a kid and I hated it.  Finally I forced her to teach me to knit and I've been off and running ever since.  I don't really follow patterns though.  I like to make things up out of my head.  Last week someone at work gave me a kinder egg so I knit her a little kitty in return.  I just thought about it and made it, boom.  So I probably won't be much help as a pattern swapper; my mom has tons though.

I'm signing up a little late, but I've been wanting to do this!

What do you want to accomplish by the end of Healthy Pony Summer?
1. Cook a homemade meal for dinner for at least 5/7 days of the week.
2. Walk for 30 minutes around the campus of the college I work at after work.
3. One hour of Zumba 3 days a week.
4. 45 minute morning workout before work.
5. Join a gym.
6. Sort through my clothes and separate what I want to donate/throw away.
7. Stop biting my nails.
8. Keep my bedroom clean for more than 2 days.
9. Come up with ideas and work on the decorations for my little sister's graduation party in July.

I'll play some catch up now!

May 1st:
I had the day off, so I was able to cook dinner before my husband got home and I did laundry. I played Zumba on the Wii U for a total of 62 minutes and did another 40 minutes of weight lifting exercises. My friend and I started discussing joining a local 24/7 gym to go to after work. I'd give that day a 5/5.

May 2nd:
I wasn't feeling well. Didn't do much outside of going to see a movie in the afternoon with my husband (who also wasn't feeling well). Don't worry, we weren't like...contagious sick. I was dealing with stomach cramps and he had a bad headache. So we stayed home from work, but we did get a little walking in and had a homecooked meal. So a 2/5 for that day.

May 3rd:
Did get my morning workout in since I didn't sleep well the previous night. I did have a nice breakfast, lunch, and another homecooked healthy meal, though. I also walked for 40 minutes after work. So a 4/5 for yesterday.

Today is going well so far. I'll update later. :)

May 2nd:I walked 3 rounds but didn't do so well on replacing Coke with other beverages and ate a rather large meal and snacked afterwards.

I give myself a 2/5 for that day.

May 3rd: had giant ice cream sandwich at work but I don't usually eat a lot of ice cream or other sweets and it was a special occasion so I will give myself a pass. I walked 2 rounds around a small park.

2/5

Today: I completed 3 rounds of walking even though I wanted to quit before the end of the 3rd round. I ordered a large lunch but left a lot of it on my plate.

3/5

Good job, PF! My goals are largely intake and exercise related too.  I know all too well the draw of ice cream :P  Have you tried Halo Top or Arctic Zero?  I think it is something like 35cal per serving and ~240cal to eat the entire pint!

Arctic Zero and Halo Top are yummy! I also love love LOVE Yasso frozen yogurt, soooo good. I wasn't that big into ice cream to begin with, though, so it was easy for me to give that up and go for healthier alternatives.

Leaving a lot on your plate is a good sign. When I started the fitness program that I'm currently doing, I was shocked that I was ordering the same things I had always ordered from restaurants, but I wasn't able to finish the meal.

Good luck replacing your Coke, Ponyfan! I quit pop cold turkey and it's worked for me for over a year now (sans the Mt. Dew I had a few days ago), but I know that won't work for everyone.

I'm going to have to be on the lookout for this Yasso stuff.  Sounds good!  I only ever really crave ice cream and such during the winter (which seems counter-intuitive but I think may be my body's way of being like you need more body fat, dummy!).

What fitness plan are you on, RR?

I haven't been able to give up pop but it is greatly reduced while my water intake is soaring.

I'm the same way. :P I crave milkshakes in the winter, don't care much when the weather gets warmer. Same with iced coffee.

I do Fit Girls Guide. I've been doing it since last June and was even featured on their Instagram page for my progress two months ago. It definitely helped me get on track with eating better and actually exercising. I love having as many people holding me accountable as possible, which is why I decided to join Healthy Pony this time around.

I drink so much water that I end up spending 50% of my time at work in the bathroom. :lmao:

I'm totally excited so many people joined up this round :) Yay!

oh boy. I totally over did it. 4+ hours mulching in the rain. >_<; I just hope I didn't strain anything.

I think my biggest obstacle is making time for working out or whatever. If i'm not working, then I'm super duper busy being a mom. I'm going to alter my goals just a tiny bit to be more realistic, even though it isn't as ambitious as you guys. I am also going to make an effort to walk the stairs during lunch, so I am not working through lunch. (11 hours on a computer. ugh).

I need to remember to post on here.

5/3-I think I did pretty good.  I remembered to walk on the treadmill.

5/4-Woke up with a cold.  I've been drinking pineapple juice like a pirate with scurvy but it hasn't fixed me yet.  I don't think I can breathe enough to walk on the treadmill so I will attempt to clean/organize tonight instead.

Thanks everyone. :) Everyone was getting huge ice cream sandwhiches so it would have seemed awkward not to get one. I'll have to look for the Artic Zero and Halo Top ice creams. I crave Coke so bad sometimes.

Holy cow healthy pony party! Love it. Well no walk at work, but played in the garden and went onbwalk with my hubby after work. This post us my recording, but I have other devices that could help improve... mostly stop eating the 5 cookies:) no piano and no knitting. I was just too tired

I give today (May 4th) a...3/5.

I had Taco Bell for dinner, but I did hit my daily goal of 12k steps according to my Fitbit, so there's that. I don't work tomorrow, so I have no excuse not to work out!

Yesterday was a 3/5

Did my gardening until the windstorm got too bad then moved inside for a very little bit of cleaning. Only about 2 3/4 miles yesterday as I basically fell unconscious early while trying to write this. Today looks to be an indoor mostly sedentary day as it's a cold drizzly day and I ache in my hips and knees from the increased exercise.  :drunk:

I cast on I think about 8 stitches, knit 2 rows, increased to 12ish stitches, knit till I had about 3 inches, then I reduced to make pointy ears.  I added eyes, a nose, and whiskers and ta da, instant kitty!

5/4 summary

walked 11052 steps/ 5.31mi

ate 1300kcal, blah, although in my defense, a friend came from out of town that I don't see often and we went out :)
no knitting for the above reason

Yesssss. :)
All my cravings are gone and I no longer feel the need to casually snack on something (even healthy snacks). No headaches, feeling super energetic, blah blah. I made it through the tough part.

I'm probably going to ruin all my progress with an in 'n out burger tonight. T_T; But it might the last one ever, so I really don't want to skip out on the opportunity.

Monday I met my step goal which was odd I must have ran out to my car a few extra times.  +2

Today I had a great training session (legs) my workout keeps getting updated.  I went from workout 1 strait into workout 2.  Then a min break before workout 3-4.  Then a 30 second break into a bonus workout.  I was exhausted but I feel great now.
I also already met my step goal  running errands and cleaning the house.  +5

banditpony-  If your looking for a burger substitute I'd recommend beyond meat burgers.  I'm not a vegetarian but these are a healthy substitute, and no lies they taste like a regular burger.

Thanks for the suggestion kakenterprise :) It's processed foods I can't have at the moment (And starchy foods). So it's the bun that is bad rather than the meat. Although I totally wanna try that "burger" in the future, it sounds really interesting!! Can't right now since theres a couple ingredients I can't have in it.

On a similar note, has anyone ever made their own ketchup? Any thoughts on it?

I've never tried to make my own ketchup but it sounds fascinating!  Anything to lower the sugar in it and make it more tomatoey would be amazing.  If you end up trying it, please let us know how it goes!  Good luck :)

Okay I am a bit late to sign up, the last couple weeks have been crazy!! But I want to participate again. Last summer it really helped my confidence.

1. What do you want to accomplish by the end of Healthy Pony Summer?

My main goal is to get writing again. This January I set a goal of getting my partially written comic script finished in a year. But I've been slightly distracted and such and have not been getting my booty in gear on it.

I also want to stop drinking coca-cola. I've gotten into a habit of stress drinking sodas instead of stress eating, just because my husband had them around ALL the time.

2. What are some steps you plan to make to reach your accomplishment.

To deal with the soda, I'm gonna limit myself to one a day at first. By june, I want to be down to one once a week, and hopefully by the end i'll be not drinking any at all. If I slip I'm gonna make myself clean the house for an hour per soda i slip with.

The writing I'm going to start by making sure I get in an hour a day no matter what type of writing, just as long as it's creative writing. Once I've gotten into a good rhythem of writing daily I'm gonna try to focus more on the script, but I'm going to try to not stress out if I cant focus on the script for a day.

Do you need canning supplies to make your own ketchup?

I did my three mile walk, my 90 minute memorizing, and got my chores done, 5/5 today.

The weekends are different for me. The whole family is at home all day. I don't get my usual week day goals done. Instead, on Saturdays I go grocery shopping with Mr. Stomper, and am usually wiped out for the rest of the day. On Sundays, I go to church and play the drums, and again low energy for the rest of the day.

I love seeing all the scores. My goal this Sunday is to get all sign ups here listed so I can add points easily, and get my prizes for Mr. universe finished...so behind.

I think I'll go with a 1/5 today.
Still have a cold, but at least I can sort of breathe today.  The pineapple juice I've been drinking has helped a lot.  But I still can't breathe enough to walk on the treadmill.  I have a coughing fit every time I change position, so I don't know how well I'll sleep tonight.

While I didn't do any cleaning, I have been working on a DVD cover project that I want to get done, so I gave myself a point for that.  It's taking longer than I'd like because my internet is slow.  But I'll just keep at it and eventually it will get done...I hope.

I'm gonna give myself a 2/5 today.  I'm still battling a cold so the treadmill is probably a no-go until Monday, but I did do a LOT of cleaning today.  I may have overdone it because I'm pooped.  My mom went out of town for the day so I decided to brush out her dog (a malamute mix that is shedding) and then I dusted and vacuumed her house for a Mother's Day surprise.  I've also organized the messiest corner of my room.   On the plus side, the pineapple juice seems to be helping a lot.  [If you've got a cold, I recommend it.  Not only is it yummy but it has a natural decongestant and a natural expectorant, kind of like guaifenesin, and lots of Vitamin C.]
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Summer Sign Ups

Pokeyonekenobie-I hope you get better soon.  I had no idea that  pineapple juice is a natural decongestant.  Definitely going to use that next time I get sick.

I'm working on decluttering so I listed a few things on ebay and added to the donation pile.  I met my step goal for the week and I help with the remodeling.  I almost fell off the latter a few times (so clumsy) but I'm glad I helped. 4/5

2/5 There was a big Cinco de Mayo lunch at work and of course I had to get something, but I did get soft tacos, meat and a little salsa and cheese. I also drank tea twice instead of Coke although the 2nd time I was really craving the Coke. I also had big meal later but didn't eat all of it.

Today: 1/5 I was not a very healthy pony today. I will give myself a point for not overindulging on chips though.

2/5 for 5/6

Managed just over a mile walking after a lot of pacing to keep myself from napping. Did manage some gardening as I needed to give some mini roses a little help standing up and the grapevines must be encouraged to grow as I will them to. A lot more cleaning done and another joke from hubby but it was accompanied by his encouraging smile. He's no idea why I've suddenly ramped up my cleaning efforts but endeavors to stay out of the way while I do so. No real exercise done as today I decided to "rest" but I did write out the routine I need to start on.

4/5 for today.

I went to the gym in the morning, had a great workout, ate well...up until dinner. It wasn't even that bad, but I feel bad: sofritas (tofu) burrito bowl from Chipotle, but then I had four small pepperoni rolls. :( Oh well, every day can't be a winner!

I'm gonna go with 2/5 today.  I was good and drank more pineapple juice so I think that I can attempt the treadmill tomorrow.  I worked on five different projects today-started painting designs on 3 boxes and worked on 2 of my stories.  So even though I stayed home and "rested" I tried to be productive.

I do wish that the weather would warm up and stop being so rainy for a few days.  I have a bunch of boxes that I painted last fall but couldn't really seal because it's been too cold/humid for the spray sealer I have.  If I can find a day to seal them, that'll finish up 9 boxes so they can be moved along to their next destination and clear up a bit of space in my room, too.

Sunday was a 5/5
I went to a huge flea market/garage sale thing, where I walked around from 7-10.  It's always a blast I can't wait for the next one.
I passed on eating taco bell and I still made time for my trainer.  My arms workout is getting re vamped, apparently I didn't look defeated enough.

Today is a 3/5
I ate healthy today, cleaned the house, and met my stepper goal.  I was also happy to get rid of a few more things today.  It feels like it's going to take forever but I'm going to keep it up.

Managed just under 2 miles (and it'd've been just over had I noticed... :pout:) but did nearly no cleaning so didn't finish either of the rooms I'd been cleaning last week, no exersize because of how sore I am but don't regret it as I had to play extreme mom-taxi last minute, and I did no gardening at all.

I reviewed my memory verses for only a few minutes, and I did the barest minimum of chores. However, that was because I left the house this morning and went on a 7 mile walk. That endeavor took me over 2.5 hours and I got a bit tired and sore. But I think that still merits me a 5/5. It was worth it. Lovely sunny day today.

4/5 on Tuesday

I cleaned indoors a little. I put out a few more plants and reclaimed about 1/3 of my backyard via mowing of groundcover and pulling up horsenettle. I'm at just under 3 miles walked now. I'm a bit tired but saw a hummingbird and two male five lined skinks so a good bit of loveliness for my day.

I'm gonna go with 2/5 today.  I painted a little but didn't feel like walking.  No real reason why, just wasn't feeling like it.  But I did clear out a bunch of DVD cases.  You see, I don't have room on my shelves at the moment to keep my DVDs in their original cases, so they're in big 200 capacity CD albums.  Rather than continue storing the cases in a closet, I decided to pull the artwork and ditch the cases.  If I decide to put my DVDs in cases later, I can just buy new ones from Amazon.  (Did you know you can get purple, orange, and green DVD cases?)  Just to give you an idea of how many I got rid of, I have 8-200 capacity CD albums that currently house my DVDs.  So I think that counts as cleaning.  I pulled the artwork a couple of weeks ago but finally got around to getting the garbage bags full of cases out of the house.

4/5 for May 9th.

I did reeeeaally good, but I had BBQ chicken pizza for dinner because I didn't feel like cooking. I was proud of myself though, because I went to the gym early AND by myself, since my friend wasn't able to go. I'm usually anxious about doing things like that alone, but I had fun and would definitely do it again if no one is able to go with me. I only noticed that walking on the treadmill was super boring without someone to talk to on the treadmill next to me. Even listening to music didn't cure the boredom.

Today I bought a 52 oz. water bottle (more like a jug) while I was at Walmart. I'm hoping it'll help me keep up with my water intake. I've been slacking lately.

4/5 for today. I was going to rest from walking, but I had to walk to the store. So that's over 3 miles. I didn't really review my memory verses very much, hence the four. Rainbowrific Renia I say the bigger the water bottle the better.  I have a large water bottle at work.  For the longest time they'd poke fun at me because I was always running off to pee.

Tuesday- 5/5  I doubled my step count and did lots of work outside.  I mowed the front and put weed killer down.

today is a 3/5 I ate really clean and after work I stopped at ToysRus for a nice walk.  I made it to my step goal and I bought myself some pet shops.

I'd like to try walking at lunch once a week instead of playing video games but I doubt that will work out.

5/5 today.

I woke up at 6:15, which is a pretty big deal. Met up with my friend at Planet Fitness around 6:45. I got there a bit before her, so I did 10 minutes on the elipitcal, then we moved to weight lifting and ended with a 35 minute walk on the treadmill. I went to Walmart after for allergy meds, but ended up walking out with the Bubba 52 oz. water bottle/jug and some other stuff.  I got home around 9, did 20 minutes of Zumba on the Wii U, showered, went to work, hit my 12k step goal by 2pm, then came home and slept after cooking dinner. I'm super sore, but it's the good kind of "I totally killed my workout" sore.

I'm making no process on the whole biting my nails thing, though. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do it subconsciously at this point but I really want long, healthy nails again. :( Would chewing gum help?

5/5 for me today. I spent 90 minutes memorizing new things. I got my chores done. I will rest from walking today. But it is a beautiful sunny day and I look forward to sitting in the sun this afternoon again.

I will also have my next door neighbor over for a visit after lunch. It does help keep the motivation going for continued housecleaning. I even made some refrigerator tea for her. Who knows? Maybe one day, cleaning will be an autopilot habit instead of needing to grit my teeth and intentionally getting the grind done each day.

I seem to have lost a couple of days. I will try to do better.

May 10th: 3/5 I walked around the mall an extra half a lap and didn't drink extra Coke.

Today: 4/5 I walked the mall again and at lunch I ordered a smaller meal than usual and a healthier side. I only drank one refill of Coke instead of several.

Boo!
:( I'm not sure if I'll be able to walk up the stairs at work anymore~ I really enjoyed going up and down them on my break! But my knee is acting really strange. Luckily I have a doctor appointment next week...

I ate a couple goldfish crackers because I was so bummed today... but other than that my diet is going well. ^_^

@Rainbowrific Renia

Stopping is really hard. A part of it is becoming mindful when you are doing it. Whenever you notice, just stop. Tell yourself no and stop and REALLY try to pay attention when you do it. Sometimes just limiting it to a single finger can help.

I really think buffing and filing your nails help too, since a nice smooth nail is harder to chew on (regardless how short it is).

Aaand, also, if you can try to eliminate whatever actual cause. Is boredom, is it stress, blah blah blah.

3/5 for today I think.

Thursday started off with promise but ended with me fighting through a migraine...
Not much gardening but I did more weeding and put out another Mosquito Plant. A little over 2 1/4 miles walked today. Small exercises and stretching to not exasperate my already sore body. A bit of attention paid to the cleaning (mostly just planning) so I don't count that as a win. I want to do more but I feel like I'm going to start relying on pain meds or alcohol just to be able to sleep at night.  -_-  The scale and my waistline are both happier but I want to start feeling the good exercise buzz I used to now. It's almost disheartening how out of shape I've become and didn't notice it just because the majority of my compatriots are worse off now.  :pout:

5/11- Going with 2/5

My sister and her kids showed up yesterday so I don't know if I'll be able to get any treadmill time in until they go. But, I am listening to a book on CD called "Goodbye, Things".  It's by a Japanese minimalist (no, not the Life-Changing Magic lady-but he does quote her) who talks about how his life has changed just by getting rid of things he really didn't need and was only keeping because he'd spent money on it.  It's really interesting.  I recommend it.

@Crowning_Glory13--have you tried pineapple juice to help kick your cold?  100% stuff works better than mixes (i.e. mango-pineapple).   I think most grocery stores carry it in the juice aisle rather than the refrigerated section.  Hope you feel better soon!

4/5 today. I was feeling some vertigo again, so I didn't do much memory review. I did get my chores done, which I'm happy about. My son went with me on my walk. We were about to start walking the fourth mile when it started to rain on us. So we only walked three.

3/5 for Friday

I made real progress cleaning but I am sure I won't reach my goal since I, yet again, decided to work on a different room. Not that it's all bad as the job needs to be done for the entirety of the house. Only garden prep done today since it was pouring out. I got another pot so Youngest could plant something of her own.  ^.^  The birds that accompany me now seemed to be disappointed with me as I refused to work the soil for them. There is a little brown mama that is very attentive. I hope she's the owner of the nest in my bushes I tried to assist after nearly lopping off accidentally. (rambling, I'm tired, sorry) Two and a half miles walked today. Only half of my exercises done. I decided working on teaching myself to better crochet was more important. I'm going back to sleep now...  :snore:

2/5 for Thursday. My job is dumb. The weather went from like...the 80s last week, to the 50s this week. The temp in room I work in was maybe 60? Probably lower, and we can't control the temp! So I got sick and left work early. I NEVER get colds in the spring...ugh I hate that place sometimes. :( I felt fine going in, but left with a runny nose, watery eyes, a sore throat, all that fun stuff.

5/5 for sure for yesterday, though.

I went to the gym for an hour, did Zumba at home for a little while, did a tom of cleaning around the house, walked around for a bit in the afternoon. 28K STEPS TOTAL! :yippee: All of the food I ate was great, too, and

Thank you for this! It's honestly probably stress that leads me to bite my nails, and I kinda blame my job. I do it the most while I'm there. But I can see about trying to be more relaxed while I'm there, see if that changes things.

Someone told me that drinking a lot of zero calorie beverages instead of the full calorie/full sugar ones are not healthy due to the artificial  sweetener. Is that true?

Many of the sugar substitutes I'm actually allergic to and Stevia tastes too "green" to me...

Today is a 2/5

No formal exercising but I did take my Youngest to the park to continue learning how to ride a bike. Incidentally, that's how I got one of the just over two miles I've walked today.  ^.^  A little more zip tieing the roses and grapevines into submission and planting other things that were put on hold from the rain. Not done with that but definitely getting there. I did no cleaning. Between videogames and my crochet project I did little else the whole day. But I regret nothing as the dried figs I picked up from Trader Joe's are wonderful and have prompted me to look again on Amazon for a decently priced dehydrator.  :dribble:

I don't know for sure.  I do know that I get heartburn whenever I drink things with aspartame and splenda makes me break out in hives.  So for me, I prefer actual sugar in my drinks

I think drinking a lot of either is bad.

There's studies on why too much artificial sweetener is bad. And we already know why too much sugar is bad.

Generally speaking, I choose sugar over artificial sweeteners.

I find kombucha to be an excellent substitute for soda pop, especially grape-flavored. Mind you, I'd not drink a bottle per day because a) it's not cheap unless you make it yourself and b) that's a lot of probiotic! It seriously puts yogurt to shame. You have to be acclimated to taking that much probiotic. But I haven't had soda in years. I also make my own water kefir.

May 13 = 1/5. Mr. Stomper and I only went to one store to do our shopping as we had very little money. Today is payday, however, so all good. After that, I just lounged around. I don't mind the fact that I didn't reach any goals because a small break now and then is okay with me.

May 14 = 2/5. I didn't meet many goals yesterday, either, except I took a 3 mile walk to church. The worship team gave the moms a day off, so one of the youngsters took over the drumming for me. She played rather well, so I'm proud of her.

May 15. Don't know yet. I have had my morning filled with outdoor errands and it's hard for me to get into my chore groove after lunch time. But I'll try. I did do some of my memorizing on my phone app while waiting in the dentist office, though, so it's not a complete waste.

I like to add fruit to my water to give it flavor, but I also love water on its own so that's no big deal for me. I'd also take actual sugar over artificial any day, so low calorie drinks have never been my thing. I don't think they're any better than drinking a regular pop/soda.

Overall, I'd give this entire weekend a 2/5. My eating wasn't the best and I didn't hit my step goal either day, but I'm more lax on weekends anyway. I'm usually a little better than I was this past Saturday and Sunday, though. :lookround:

I decided to buy some nail strengthening polish to deter myself from biting my nails, all while helping them grow healthy at the same time. So far so good!

Renia, your post reminds me of my childhood. Like Linus from Peanuts fame, I had sucked on my finger past the age where that was acceptable and my parents would put on clear fingernail polish on said offensive finger to get me to stop. In my stubbornness, I simply developed a tolerance to the taste. :P I was a sad sack (and it wound up costing me in terms of needing braces for a few years. :lookround: )

Anyway, I wish you success on kicking the habit. :)

I'm really not sure which days I've reported on so I'll guess.

Saturday 5/13- 3/5  Didn't walk on the treadmill but walked around Hobby Lobby, the mall, and Walmart with my sister.  My sister's feet hurt by the time we were done (mine didn't) so I'm counting it as a good workout.

Sunday 5/14-2/5-started de-cluttering my junk drawer.  My sister's family went home but I didn't walk on the treadmill because I went to see my 18 month old nephew at Primary Children's Hospital.  Poor little guy has pneumonia and some other things that are being made worse because of complications that come with his health issues from having Downs.  He got moved to the ICU today.  :(

I will send prayers for your sweet nephew...big hugs.

I am alive...bairly. I am slowly seeing myself back in order from being sick. Not 100% but I would say 75%. So each day this weekend was a 2. Being sick, I was really good healthy eating, and I was in bed knitting. Sadly this constituted a huge mistake and had to unravel my dress. I wasn't certain if the dress would fit me, as I changed the yarn, but I was ok if it fit a 3 year old. Sadly my mistake made it impossible for the 3 year old...sigh. I goofed on my math and was off 92 stitches....oops. So I started that. It is Monday, a new week...I might get some high numbers for myself....or hoping.

Sorry this is late.

The challenge if you choose to accept it....is to give us a picture of your success. You do not have to have it be a picture of you. It could be an old pair of pants verses a new size of pants next to each other on the floor. It could be that glass of water you choose instead off a sugar drink. Maybe you gave yourself a reward...we want to see it. Let's get some positive vibes going. To get points for this challenge you have two weeks to complete. 3 points for telling us about a success and 5 for actually posting a picture. So if you give us a story and a picture, it will only be 5 points. Even if the posts are separate.

I am off to get some organizing done. It is much needed. I hope to get my focus back inline.

I liked the number I saw on the scale at the doctors office today. (Usually I have my phone in my pocket and shoes on it skews heavier than I like to see).

My jeans are loose, but I'm not small enough to fit in a size smaller yet. I might have to wear a belt to keep them up. Why don't they make half sizes. >_< So no pic from me since that's my end goal and I doubt I'll get there in two weeks. Slow and steady wins the race. :)

Monday is 3/5. I did some memory review, but not that much. I did some chores but not all of them. I had errands to run that morning, so when I got back home, some of my motivation was gone.

Tuesday was 4/5. I didn't do any memory work. I did the downstairs chores, but no upstairs chores. Then I went another 7 mile walk and was exhausted and aching when I got back.

Today is rainy, but it's a no-walk day. So I should be able to get my memory work and chores all done.

EDIT: today is 5/5. I spent longer than usual with memorizing. I got my chores done. I'm being productive in other areas, too. Now if only the rain would go away. :P

Tuesday 3/5
A little cleaning, 2 1/8 miles walked, some gardening, no exercise. Worked on finishing some customs that've been sitting in the To Do pile for months.

Wednesday 4/5
I didn't clean really but 2 1/4 miles walked, a lot of strenuous gardening plus a little general exercise, went to the market so I made my goal for the month on that. Bonus: I worked on both my crochet project and the pony customs I want to do.

Monday 5/15-3/5  Walked on Treadmill, painted a little
Tuesday 5/16-3/5 Walked on Treadmill, cleaned a little

Wednesday 5/17-3/5 Walked on Treadmill, decluttered 3 drawers. It would have been 4/5 but I found out my nephew had a seizure at about 6pm and I had a big bowl of ice cream, so I dropped myself a point for giving in to stress eating.  I haven't heard how he's doing so far today.

Sending that nephew some prayers....Yum ice cream.

Not so good on my recording..knitting...piano....well not much in general. Sigh. Part of it was the terrible storms in my area. My break got shorten a bit so it's hard to walk at work:)

I am hearing such good things. Pictures do not have to be related to your goals. I am looking for positivity. Maybe you got a pony as a job well done, or your garden, a nice blue sky as you went on your walk, anything that shows hay look what I did is ok with me:) photos tend to make us excited. Me needs some motivation.

I'm not sure what the story on the rabbit is. Perhaps he's a pet that got away? Or maybe the owner is content to let him roam around freely? (Not being a rabbit owner, I'm not sure whether that's a good idea or not. I know cats can generally find their way back home.)

And this shot I took when I was 3 miles into my 7 mile walk on that same Tuesday. I was looking across Scenic Drive and across the Old Man River valley. You can see Lethbridge University on the right side there.

This is a great time to go on walks. Everything is blooming, including now the lilacs. I love those so much. The trees have leafed out and the grass is so green. Not too hot yet. :)

Hi guys I have to post my updates.

I fell last Friday and it put my in bed for 3 days.  I'm still recovering I scrapped up my knee (it feels okay at this point it's just a scab, eww I know).  But I also twisted my feet when I feel.  I'm not even sure how bent a toe back and the other half my foot.  They're still very tender and I walk with a limp.

That Friday before I fell I was at 5/5.  Had an awsome work out, cleaned the house and made a healthy dinner.

I feel bad for not posting any updates in this last week.  >_< I had a job interview Friday and my anxiety was through the roof because of it...ugh.

Other than that, I've been doing well. I went to the gym for an hour every day this week and yesterday was the only day I didn't eat a healthy, home cooked meal.

I actually did some cleaning in my pony room, too. I've been neglecting it but I'm glad I got it done.

Friday, 5/5. The kids did not have school that day. So, I crammed as much of my goal completion in the morning as I could, before they got up. Then my youngest and I went on a 4-mile walk downtown together, and took the bus home. It was a fun day.

Saturday. 3/5. Did some memory review and got the grocery shopping done. Not really any chores.

Well I did play piano today....man you loose your progress when you take a long break. So piano needs to be my focus...so Is knitting. I have a piece to finish before the end of the month...it's for a swap.

I also found a pattern for bows. I started to test out. I am handing them out as prizes for a contest I am hosting. I have made 10 so the more I did the better they got:)

So my goals this week are changing. I am going to focus on knitting and piano. If I get both done, and do some form of work out, that will be a 5 day for me.

I wish I knew how to post a video here. I was singing, no my dog went nuts. She loves to sing with me. I used to try and get her to sing with me, so I could use her in a performing act...I should get back into that:) my voice took a hit as my sickness has hindered my ability to sing....I am so out of practice.

Thursday 1/5

My FitBit decided to die without telling me it was low first.... So I've no idea how far I walked...  :pout:  I did little gardening and less cleaning. Negligible exercise.

Friday 3/5

A lot of gardening. Some cleaning but mostly only maintenance. No exercise other than the gardening. A little over a mile and a half of walking.

Saturday 3/5

Some more gardening. Not much because of rain threat. A LOT of cleaning. No exercise but I feel the cleaning I did made up for it. Over three miles walked.

Sunday 4/5

Gardening in the rain at church while I had the other lady trying to start a gardening circle in our congregation. Came home and cleaned before helping the wee one set up a terrarium for roly polies. She wanted to go outside to play so a lot more gardening at home in the sunshine. A little over two miles walked.

Let's see...I think I left off on Thursday.

Thursday 5/18-3/5  Walked on the treadmill, light organizing in my room.

Friday 5/19-3/5 Walked on the treadmill, practiced the piano for the first time in months, did a bit of cleaning.

Saturday 5/20-I'm giving myself 5/5 because I completely decluttered my closet.  I am getting rid of everything that I haven't used since we moved in three years ago and it's more than I thought it would be.  I have also gotten rid of all the clothes that I haven't worn in the last three months.  I did the thing where I turned the hangers backwards and when I wore the clothes they got turned around the right way so I know what I wore and what I didn't.  I also did my mom's laundry while she and my dad went to see my nephew.

[Update on him under the spoiler.  I don't want to make it look like I'm hijacking the thread or getting off topic, so it's there if anyone is curious.]

Spoiler
My nephew isn't doing great, but I guess it could be worse.  His right lung failed and they have him on a machine that will remove his blood, oxygenate it, warm it, and return it to his body so that his heart can have a break from working so hard.  Apparently there are only two of these machines on this side of the country, one in Denver and one in Salt Lake so it's lucky that he's being treated in Salt Lake.  They also have machines removing the gunk from his lungs and breathing for him.  Aside from the pneumonia he's got a virus (I can't remember which one) that he's having a hard time kicking.  When they took a blood sample to do a virus count it was really high.  I guess when the number is too high for the machine to count they cut it in half so that the machine can process the number.  They had to cut it in half multiple times to get it down to a point where the number was usable.  (I'm not a doctor so I'm not sure if I'm explaining that right, that's just how it was explained to me.)  Apparently they're trying an experimental medicine (not FDA approved yet) because they don't know what else to try.  So right now he's stable, which considering all the ups and downs he's gone through we're taking as a good thing.

Sunday 5/21-3/5  Didn't walk on the treadmill but continued to work on decluttering my space.  I think I've made some really good progress this weekend.

@Crowning_Glory13--Those bows are adorable!

Sunday. 4/5. I went on a 4 mile walk to church. Then I relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Did a lot of memory review. I even did some in church without my memory app.

Today. 4/5. I got most of my chores done. Did my memory review. The whole family is home because it's Victoria Day. It's not common for me to get anything done when the house is full, so I'm pleased with myself. My youngest and I have baked a belated birthday cake for my middle child. He's having his birthday party today. I don't typically handle wheat products anymore, so I hope it turns out all right and that I didn't contaminate myself in some way. :)

I'm going to give myself a high number today. 4/5 I walked 3 times around the mall and got extra steps in as well. I've also eaten pretty healthy today.

I wish I could ride the carasouel each time but it costs at least $2 for a short ride.

Monday 3/5

Quite a bit of gardening. Would have been more but had to pick up youngest from school because she was sick. A bit over 2.5 miles walked. I made progress in two key areas that need to be cleaned but didn't focus like I should in favor of feeling like I got a lot of visible work done.  ^^;  No exercise but that's because I chose a much needed nap instead.

4/5 for yesterday. It was a nice way to start the week, since I'm still nervous over my job interview (hoping to hear back this week).  :satisfied:

Tuesday 4/5. I did another 7 mile walk. This time, I crossed over to the west side of town. I enjoyed seeing the river valley, the high level bridge and Fort Whoop-Up from the pedestrian bridge. I took the bus back home. While on the bus, I tried my best to do some mental memory review. Since I was tired , hungry, and distracted, I might have missed a little bit. I didn't do any chores because the walking drained me.

Keeping fingers crossed for the interview.
Archidraca, glad you are a good parent:) this comes from a day care worker:)

Giving myself a 3/5. I did not play piano, but I sat down and did some advertising for my studio..so I kept piano in mind. I knitted, and this is day 2 of me recording on here. I feel I have to find some way to give me a boost. I was kinda giving up with my 1 and 0:(

Thank you, crowning_glory! I could use all of the luck right now. >_< That's great that you got some advertising done for your studio, definitely important.  :)

I give yesterday a 5/5. I ate well, exercised, started using the Couch to 5K app on my phone, ate a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I don't recall biting my nails at all! Still no word on the job though, so my mind has been racing with possibilities and thinking that I probably didn't get it, but I just wish they'd at least call and be like "Hey, we decided to go with someone else." I'd be upset, but at least it wouldn't be on my mind anymore and I could move on with my life. Still, I tried my best not to let those thoughts ruin my good day.

Today is already off to a great start. I went to the gym and did day 2 of the C25K app. It's supposed to rain for the next few days, so I don't know if I'll get to walk after work like I enjoy doing, but we'll see.

I understand interviews and the chaos. If it has been 5 days since the interview, it is ok to call them. But be super polite. Sometime the call bumps you up in the selection progress.

I planned on calling today or tomorrow, since the interview was last Friday. Monday is a holiday, so I don't want to wait until Tuesday to call...my nerves would be shot by then!

I did send a "thank you" email to the hiring manager on Monday, and I didn't expect a reply to that so that's okay. I planned out what I want to say when I call, that way I don't come across as nervous.

Wednesday, 4/5. I did a crud ton of chores, including mopping. (Whee! :lookround: ) I did only a minimum of reviewing. But I also walked one mile - in the stupid strong wind -unexpectedly, because I had to fetch the van from Mr. Stomper and take a kid to an appointment.

Thursday, 3/5. I went on my four mile walk and got some groceries this morning. When I got back, I didn't feel like doing chores and still do not. So I will do them tomorrow. Shame on me, but oh well I guess.

@Stomper: I think that 4 mile walk is a good excuse to not feel like doing chores. :P

I keep looking out the window while I'm at work, hoping the sky will clear up so I can take a short walk when I get off. There's rain in the forecast for the next two weeks! I know things can change, but...ugh!

Great ideas for the job interview. I am still hoping for you...man I never travel good. I walk a lot but I try all the food too:) man at you have mittens at 2 hats...and I still haven't finished one leg warmer! I demand pictures...haha

Speaking of pictures Sunday is the last day to get extra points. So post your picture of your positive:) maybe you have a kitty that makes you get up and work out...or you just cleaned a pony as a reward for a work out....:)

Title: Re: Healthy Pony Summer
Post by: Crowning_Glory13 on May 25, 2017, 02:12:29 PM
You can always post pictures:) they make it fun.

Here is the challenge:)

I can extend as you were traveling:)

I am all about pictures of healthy pony progress:)

Wonderful, SDS! :cheer:

Tuesday 3/5
2 1/3 miles walked. Last day of school and I did a lot of gardening but little cleaning and almost no exercise. I went around trying to find something I'd bought in a Kroger and after 6 of the 10 Krogers in our area I could make it to reasonably failed it was time to pick the children up. I will try Amazon.  :pout:

Wednesday 5/5
Just under 2 1/4 miles walked. The rain tried to ruin me and Youngest's first outing after the school year but we didn't let it and still made it to the Farmer's Market for some fresh blueberries and strawberries. We shared a tamale and a cookie for a picnic in the car before buying a new swimsuit for her. Until the rain lets up I can only do light gardening but that's just a good change of pace for now. A lot of cleaning and maintenance work done. (I did take a big break to play video games and work on custom ponies but I did that instead of naptime ) Some exercise even done!

Thursday 4/5
The great mound of laundry has mostly been conquered. Today I start the trek to reestablishing my right to rule my closet. Many an ill-fitting garment was lost to the hands of "I'll never fit in that again. Only about 1 3/4 miles walked for all that I managed to do. A little bit of gardening done including getting Youngest to pick our first truly large strawberry ever! It was the size we buy strawberries in the grocery store.  :dance2: No exercise but I still feel good since I now have a small space to do work in again. I will be expanding on this and consolidating the rest of my copious... everything...  ^^;

Friday 3/5
Almost a mile and a half walked. A little more gardening (the grapes will not be allowed to roam as they please) plus more work on the closet and my workspace. We did a bit of shopping and I found another site for a local Farmer's Market, bringing the potential Market days up to Tues (west), Wed (downtown), Thurs (south), and Sat (downtown but larger). Did a little unconventional exercising as I'm trying to figure out the variation Widowmaker's new dance emote is based on (Overwatch character who has a background in the French ballet). I now know the steps but can't quite do it myself without a lot more practice.  :P The only plus side on that is that I didn't manage to hurt myself while trying.

I was going to try and get these all done this weekend but I spent today decluttering my desk and helping my parents move my older brothers crap out of his apartment (the idiot got himself arrested for drugs again even though he lies to my mom and tells her he's clean).  So maybe I'll get more painting done tomorrow.

Also, my nephew is improving (YAY!).  They took him off the ECMO machine and the doctors say he's doing really well.  He has a long way to go still but things are looking up.  :)  Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts for his recovery.

Saturday 3/5
I was going to have a really low, barely above a mile day where I sat in one spot and cleaned until that couple of arms length radius was more than half complete kind of day until after I put the wee one down to sleep and a storm romped through. I'd prepped the garden earlier that day for heavy rain but nothing I could've done would've helped out with this... Almost a half mile of back and forth in about 30 minutes setting up battery LED push lights instead of candles so we can move from bedroom to kitchen or bathroom without needing one of the strategically placed flashlights or our phone lights when a transformer or three died on our side of town. Also grabbed the battery packs we got to better play Pokemon Go in case they couldn't get power up by morning.

Sunday 3/5
Not quite a mile walked but a lot of cleaning accomplished.  ^.^  Cleaned up a little outside after church and a lot more inside, trying to get that one spot complete. Youngest is fighting helping me to clean up her toys. ("Sunday is my day to not have to listen to anyone!  :pout:") Made it really easy to snack on fresh fruit with new "berry baskets" populating the fridge.

Saturday. 2/5. It was very low key. The husband and I went grocery shopping as usual, but this time I did all the driving. He's having a problem with his vision or his old glasses. Up close, he can see fine. But he has a sort of double vision the further along he looks. I don't want him driving like that. Guess it's time for new glasses.

Sunday. 3/5. Again, low key. I didn't get to walk to church for aforementioned need to drive. However, my older son wanted to get a Pokemon card from the game store after church. I combined his want of the card with my need to walk, and we both walked downtown to get it. In the middle of the afternoon, to boot. Good sunlight right there. ^_^ It wasn't 4 miles, just three, but it was still good.

Low key days are just as great as 5 point days. Ticker is back and forth so I just gotta relax for now. My husband and I just got a work out machine...right in front of our tv. Says 15min a day and you will see results...well I am going to document to see if that is right:) walking/slow movements help the ticker...sometimes.

Sorry for the large wall of text

5/21 +5

5/22  +5
stayed home to cut the grass and do other house stuff.  Doubled my step count.

5/23 +2
almost reached my step goal

5/24 +5
step goal reached ate really healthy

5/25
step goal reached ate really healthy

5/26 +5
crazy workout with my trainer and doubled my step goal.  I did allot of work outside collecting/bundling stick and worked on my garden.  My herbs grew back this year better than they did when I planted them last year.  The only issue now is that the bed is infested with weeds.

5/27 +5
went for a 8+ mile bike ride (my butt is not used to riding this year).  Doubled my step count.

5/28 +4
I met with my trainer and had a great workout but I didn't eat great.

5/29 +5
I went for a much shorter bike ride today and worked outside for a while.  I did reach my step goal but I'm hoping to double it by the end of the day.

I joined a fit bit contest at work.  It's helping me hit my step goal and pushing me to do more.

Way to go ponyfan! That is awesome news.

A note to all. Can you give me a total of points of each day to June 1. (I know we are not there yet). I have been writing down points, but I think some are missing than others. I want to match the points up. I would like to send each of you a small card/item to all of you who joined. This is a joy for me:) I do want to give my top scores some extra goodie like a job well done:)

I took the time today to go over all 13 page as of posts. I collected scores, but I also took some notes. Really want to see how far you have come, read the past:)

ponyfan you have some low numbers. I think you are being hard on yourself with your scores. I would write down what is a 1 point, 2 point, and so forth. This might help you see how wonderful you are doing. From the winter healthy pony to now, you are making amazing progress. You have to be doing well to have the weight loss. This is meant to be positive, and know that you are making amazing progress, and a great cheerleader to this group.

kakenterprise how are you doing? Falling can be so rough on the body. I hope you are mending well. You do have some great ideas and inspiration. That challenge at work was just what you needed to get your fire going! We might need to find you another challenge.

sourDoughStomper you are doing great. You really have some great days, and a few sprinkles of off days. That is an awesome track to be on. I can say keep it going. You might be ready to bump up your goals.

I have more, but I am being interrupted, so I will be back. Husband wants to ply a game:)

Thanks Crowning_Glory13. I probably am being a little too hard on myself on points.  Maybe the problem is taking points away instead of adding them up. I will try adding points up instead and see if that works better.

I got a little bit more time:)

archidraca You are doing great. Your number are in the middle, but I see very few 5. What makes a 5 for you? Write it down, and maybe that will give you a way to get more fives. You don't need to be hard on yourself. Find a way to really put a fire towards your goals!

banditpony I love your inputs. I don't see numbers, so I am not sure if you are in the healthy pony game, or the wonderful cheerleader who is making great progress. I feel I am reading a super model work out, when I read your posts...whew.

heathersmoo high roller! Your numbers barely drop below a 3! Great job! Do you thinks it's time to make your goals harder? Don't stress yourself and keep what you got going, but maybe a 5 point day could be a little harder to reach:) love the knitting.

pokeyonekenobie you had a great start, and it's starting to go middle ground. How can we inspire you to those 5.? Take the time to reward yourself for the high numbers. Even cheering for yourself is a great thing.

rainbowrificrenia you are starting out great. It's all over the board, but that's how we learn what works and what does not. Look at your 4 and 5 and take the time to see how easy it is to get there. Bring back the focus.

I meant for these posts to be positive, and my own personal opinion. I am only one person, and only know what you post. I even had to reread it:) but I am so proud of everyone so far. It's 1 month, and there is 2 more to go! We can do this.

As for myself I need some work, but I also need to ease up on myself. So I am adjusting things for myself.
1. I want to post on here for my recording. I want to focus on this project better than I have:)
2. I need to be playing piano, singing, and doing more to build my studio.
3. Knitting is going well, but just keep knitting. I hope to be able to sell at a farmers market in the fall.
4. Workout. We got a new tread mill, so I need to do 10-15min a day.

Simple and basic. All 4 items is a 5 day. This is easier than my first list. Maybe I can get some fives, and make it harder as time goes on. It is almost June, so let's keep working hard!

Just an update I did 10 on the treadmill and went on a walk with hubby...woo. won't get to piano today, but I have contest prizes to ship out:)

I guess I'm more or a cheerleader. I can't rate my days because I would get obsessive and non healthy about it.

I've been super stressed lately. Some not great stuff is brewing behind the scenes :'(
I feel like I've dropped the ball but we still have 2 months left! So I'm eager to try to pick up the pace! I might try whole 30 for the month of June. Has anyone done that before? Tips?

Or anyone have some favorite go to healthy meals?

I love reading everyone's accomplishments ^_^

I've been busy, still stressing over this job because I haven't heard anything back yet (yesterday was a holiday so I'm not too surprised, but I don't expect to hear a peep this week either). I'm assuming I didn't get it and they're just working with the person they want to hire before sending out the rejection emails, calls, etc. Yay anxiety making me such a negative person! I came into work today and everyone asked me how things were going, but I honestly just want to go back home and sleep. I also know there's the possibility that this place won't ever get back to me (it's happened to me with other places) so I should honestly just move on and keep applying to other places like I've been doing, put this job out of my mind and quit obsessing over it.

So yeah, this past weekend wasn't that great. I give myself a 3/5 for yesterday because it wasn't too bad of a day, but definitely a 1/5 for Sunday and a 2/5 for Saturday.

On the plus side, I woke up this morning and exercised even though I really didn't want to and I'm already at 6k+ steps, so halfway to my daily step goal! I plan on walking later if it doesn't rain.

@banditpony: I've been considering doing the Whole 30 program, but I feel like I'd fail after a week in. I have friends who have done it and enjoyed it, others who have done it and didn't enjoy it, but it seems to be an overall effective program.

I just read your critique, CG and I'm glad you did that!  It is funny that I apparently am the positive person because I am way more of a pessimist in my own eyes.  I told my roommate about healthy pony and he's been looking at my posts before I hit submit and usually he is like "hey, you met your goals, why is that day only a 2?" and we talk about it.  I'm not sure if that is fair but I know that looking at the glass half empty is my natural state so I thought getting another opinion to balance was a good idea.

I guess my numbers that I assign my days have less to do with the goals being met (which I am the type of insanely self disciplined person that I will not let myself sleep if I don't feel like I am making decent progress, I'm trying to work on going easier on myself because I know that I am my own worst critic usually) and more to do with the vibe of the day.  Maybe I am approaching this incorrectly?  For instance, it was pretty legendary to visit 9 countries in less than two weeks so how could I possibly NOT have given each one a five?  It was an amazing time that I will treasure for the rest of my life.  On the flip side, my very special rat friend died.  Even if I won the lotto on the same day, it wouldn't matter.  At the moment, not much feels like it matters because I miss her so intensely.  I'm trying to shift my focus onto her brother because he is my only sweet baby rat left.  I hope I am making sense here and not just rambling like a nut.

CG, you really are a mind reader because I was just thinking last night about toughening up my goals.  I'd love to lose 8-10lbs by the end of June.  Usually I average about 1.5lbs/week.  I'm already wearing my new ankle, wrist, and waist weights to make my exercise more vigorous.  I jogged first thing this morning and did a bunch of weight training.  I'm also going back to calorie restriction after letting myself off the hook for my travels.  I am strictly keeping to 500cal/day during the week and tightening up my weekends to no more than 750-1200 (still working out the exact details by this weekend).

Rainbow, I'm sorry that you haven't heard back yet.  Also, have you tried P90X or even beach body?  My mom has had a lot of success and has been doing them for years.  Everyone is different though but I know you will find something new and exciting to help you out.

Bandit, every group needs a cheerleader!  I completely understand how you can feel obsessive about numbers and take it too far because I feel like I have to watch myself from doing the same.

PF, I am doing the opposite of you with counting so I think if we both just switch, maybe we will have more accurate results?  It is worth a try and I look forward to seeing if this helps you out.

Kakenterprise, have you posted a pic of your herb garden?  If so, I may have missed it while I was overseas but if not, you totally should!  I'm getting my act together in that regard as well.

SDS, how has the weather been in Alberta?  Are you by Banff or Jasper?  Your assessments of your days seem very spot on.

archidraca, berry baskets sound like a great idea.  Feel free to send me one, I won't complain :P

Pokey, your boxes are amazing, what lovely work! You have a gift.

I think I got everyone.  Wow, that was really fun, commenting all in one spot.  I was trying to do it all separately but maybe this is better because it keeps the comments much more organized :)

Good luck to day, all!

Bandirpony. I have done the 30. In my younger pageant days, it was a norm. I did it too much and got burnt out.

Rainbowrific, just apply to other jobs. Good news you get this one. Or you don't get this job but another job around the corner. It's best not to fret. I had a job call me 6 months later.

archidraca You are doing great. Your number are in the middle, but I see very few 5. What makes a 5 for you? Write it down, and maybe that will give you a way to get more fives. You don't need to be hard on yourself. Find a way to really put a fire towards your goals!
 I feel I would need a steady dripfeed of my Youngest's spare energy in order to get more 5s. The way to get them is simple, make a genuine effort to move forward on as many of my goals that are available to me that day. It's raining? Not gardening doesn't bother me as much. (but it does still do so... :drunk: Want!!!!) Didn't exercise? Well, there are always ways to make up for that. Most of my Perfect Points days involved heavy gardening that also counted as exercise to both me and my FitBit  ;), taking a big rewarding shower, and then cleaning until it's time to go to bed. Only so many times I'm going to have the energy to do that.

archidraca, berry baskets sound like a great idea.  Feel free to send me one, I won't complain :P
 They are! I would send you one but it was random chance I saw them, they're already sold out in the one store that had them, and I can't find it at kroger's website. These are similar (https://smile.amazon.com/Chefn-212-592-187-Vibe-Berry-Basket/dp/B00KRAI0AK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1496189592&sr=8-5&keywords=plastic%2Bberry%2Bbasket&th=1) in both make and price but not nearly as cute.

Heather, I am in Lethbridge. :)

Monday 3/5, I didn't do too much. I did get a comfortable majority of my chores done. I kind of had to twist my own arm into doing it, because I was low-ish on motivation. A small bit of memory review. Since I have memorized another passage, now it's just "maintenance" reviews until I start working on something new. I also rested from walking.

Tuesday 5/5. The only of my goals I met was walking 8 miles. And since that was a 3 hour affair, I no longer care if I don't get chores done on the same day. My feet were tired and I wanted to take it easy for the rest of the day. I don't feel guilty, either, because 8 miles is nothing to sneeze at, and I have limited reserves of energy.

Today, I have a morning appointment with the dentist. :| I have no idea what the day will be like for me, after that.

Got the letter this morning telling me that I didn't get the job I interviewed for. Despite my gut feeling that I'll be stuck at my current job forever, I did apply to several places over the past week and I applied to another place today. I'm trying not to think about it too much though, being disappointed over and over again is getting old.

I'd give yesterday at 3/5. I haven't been to the gym since Saturday. I'm just not feeling well enough, mentally, to go. I wanted to go this morning but I stayed in bed instead. My plan is to go tonight at a time when I know there won't be a ton of people there. Fingers crossed I actually make it!

I brought what was left of my fruit salad from Monday for lunch today and I have a nice big jug of water to last me until I go home. At least I know my food and water intake will be on point!

SDS, I haven't been to Lethbridge but I'm sure it is amazing!  That whole area is just fabbity fab fab... in the summer!  I don't do cold :)

Renia, sorry to hear about the rejection.  At least they told you!  I hate when you never hear from people again.  No one likes to give bad news but it is better than never getting any response.

Here's my summary for 5/30
walked/ran over 5 miles
intake about 425 cal.  I took a little medicine to help with a migraine but I didn't count that because I don't want to not take medicine for fear of calories.  My disordered eating can be a beast
water intake was nearly 4L
knit a few rows but my migraine prevented a lot of progress
ETA: 4/5

I'm thinking of adding climbing 20 flights of stairs at work to my walk/run goal.  I can only cut my calories so low but I can always increase my activity level!

Here is a picture of Copenhagen.  I liked the street lights.  I also have a picture of a keychain I bought at the airport to add to my collection:

Sorry about the job, Renia.

I am back from the dentist. He didn't freeze my tongue, but it got numb anyway. When he wanted to check my bite with the new fillings, I managed to chew my tongue a few times. Wound it pretty good. It's still numb, but there are some bleeding spots on it. >_< That's going to be fun when the freezing wears off.

I walked 2 full laps around the mall but had to cut the third round short. I also had a large soft pretzel. I usually only get a small pretzel bite for each day I am the mall unless there are no samples out.

Total for May: 57 points.

That looks really low.  Maybe I can do better in June.

I have to go through a get a total for May. I'll do that later. ^.^

68 points for May. I'm going to go through and double-check, but I think that's about right.

I give yesterday a 3/5. I didn't work out at all, barely got 2k steps in the whole day which is ridiculous considering my daily goal is 12k (which I haven't hit at all this week) but I did eat well and I drank lots of water. I also wasn't too hard on myself over the whole job situation...and I already have another interview lined up for next week on my day off! I applied to 8 different companies yesterday afternoon and evening, and I know for sure that two of them looked at my resume this morning.

If you think your number is low, ponyfan, that only means you can go up from there!

 Good morning everyone.

Yesterday, with the dentist appointment, was pretty much a wash for me. I give myself points just because I endured it as best I could. 2/5

Because of the stress of the event, I believe my body made too much cortisol, which in turn insured that I had insomnia for much of the night. So I'm quite tired today. I think all I'm going to do for the chores is to clear off the kitchen table and run the dishwasher. I will attempt use the rest of my energy, if possible, to go on a 4 mile walk. The fresh air and sunlight might perk me up.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be fully recovered and can get back on track. Just have to wait it out, really.

EDIT: I did go on the walk and managed 3.8 miles. That's close enough, considering I wasn't enjoying the walk as much as usual. It did seem to take some of the edge of the tiredness, though.

Today = 3/5.

wow I have not put i my progress. I got piano in on Tuesday. I have used the tread mill 3 days in a row, and I am cutting back my knitting. I need to focus. I have so many projects going on at once. Part of it is I get board. So I am going to focus on finishing project. I found the magazine that you can make a knitted unicorn. I want to make more of those...so I have to finish a project before I can start it. Kine of dangling a carrot in front of me.

Rainbowrific...I know how you feel about staying in a job you hate or just need to get out. It will happen. I just put some applications in and praying to leave my job. Those jobs are out there. I have been with out a job, and really i feel worst than being at a job thats no fun. That job will come.

Okay, so I finally got my May numbers added up.  I've done really well at remembering to walk on the treadmill and I've made some good progress on various projects and cleaning.   Do I count the days I forgot to post how many points I gave myself?

I'm going to try to remember to update my numbers more regularly this month because I really let it slide near the end of last month.

Today wasn't a good day for me.  For some reason, every little thing just annoyed the Hades out of me.  So I'm giving myself a 1/5.  I ate a bunch of stuff I shouldn't have, had a bad attitude and refused to walk on the treadmill tonight because I just don't want to.  I don't usually resort to retail therapy but I bought 3 ponies on my lunch break (they were on sale) and I felt a bit better after that.

On the plus side, my nephew is doing so much better now.  They found out his immune system was going nuts and attacking all of his cells, not just the bad ones so they had to inject him with something to basically kill his immune system.  It got so bad the other night that my brother and SIL said their goodbyes to him before they went to bed.  But by the time they woke up 5 hours later his numbers were doing really well.  The doctors were pleased (and frankly, surprised in a good way) because they were afraid they were going to have to have "the talk they don't like to have with parents."  This morning they took him off the paralytic and they even had a physical therapist come in and help him sit up for a little bit.  He's still got a long way to go but hopefully he won't have any bad setbacks this time.

@Crowning_Glory13:  Mr. Universe prize came today!  Thank you so much for all the goodies. Troubleshoes looks so handsome in his new bowtie.

I like the positive I am hearing:) we all have goals and we may not reach them by the end of healthy pony. The important fact is that you are trying. You will reach those goals someday:)

I love our treadmill. I have the max trainer. The ad says 15min is all you need. I average about 10min. I do a lot of running after kids at work, so I don't want to get soar muscles. I am a baby for pain, so if working out hurts I don't want to do it. I am on the lowest setting, and I can feel a difference. I feel a lot in my stomach. I don't see any weight change, but for me feeling good and healthy is better than the weight loss. I see a lot of weight loss o tend to go to bad habits. I will bump my work out once I feel I can:)

Sorry to be a spokesmen there. My eating has improved. I am buying less junk food when I go to the grocery store. Piano still needs work...gotta figure out how to motivate myself. My hubby is going out to the wood shop today, so I will be playing piano...maybe I will push myself to an hour:)

So my May number was 87.

I think I'm going to revamp how I award myself points.
1 pt for walking on the treadmill
1 pt for cleaning/organizing
1 pt for working on a project
1 pt for eating/drinking like I'm supposed to
1 pt for doing all of it in the same day (or for doing one of the other things in an amazing manner).
I think this method will help me be a little more fair in how I award my points.

So yesterday I got 2 points.  I didn't walk on the treadmill and I had too many sweets.  I woke up this morning with a headache that I think was a result of those sweets.  I did work on a project and cleaned, so I get those points (yay).

I'm enjoying a lazy Saturday. My eldest was invited to Calaway Park in Calgary, so she's having fun elsewhere. My youngest was invited to his friends house for the day, so he's having fun elsewhere. So it's just the three of us for now. Hubs and I went shopping this morning, as usual. Today is a 3/5.

I need to change my eating habits. They are already pretty good in that I don't eat junk food or fast food at all. I've gone out to eat about 4 times in the past three years. (I'm scared they are going to contaminate me by accident and then I'll have a bad day.) Haven't had soda in years.

In fact, most of my foods are single-ingredient. Organic veggies and fruits, grass-fed eggs, goat cheese, kombucha, grass-fed beef, nuts, and the like. The only candy I have is organic, soy-free dark chocolate, and usually only a few squares at a time. Perhaps the junkiest food I get is an occasional bag of pork rinds. They make a good substitute for croutons on my salad.

That said, I eat a crud load of apples and dates and sweet potatoes. >_> I dared to weigh myself for the first time in a long time earlier this week and was sad to see I'd gone up about 20 pounds in the past two years. *sad face* Lesson to be learned: even the most natural and "healthy" of sugars can get the better of you if you don't keep it under control.

So... I need to wean off those apples and dates for awhile. :sigh: For a good long while, I think. I still want to drink my water kefir/kombucha, but these are high sugar as well. So I may limit myself to one tablespoon per day so I can at least continue to get the beneficial bacteria.

I do want to start with this, but I don't think I want to add it officially to the goals of this thread. I'll probably still give updates as this is going to be the hardest goal so far, but I won't include it into my daily tally.

Anyway, that's my day so far. Everyone keep your stick on the ice. :grouphug:

Sorry to be a downer...maybe I can get some uplifting directiob/advice. I hate practicing piano because I have no students in my studio:( I want to get my masters, but the school is 4/5 hours away from me. I am ok waiting. My husband and I have been trying for kids, yesterday was a no for this month:( I do fear I can't conceive since it runs on my mom's side of the family. I keep distracting myself with contests and events to keep things off my mind...but I am starting to just give up:( sorry so sad. I just need to get myself back up and sometimes letting it out helps me:(

I should set up an excel sheet rather than using a couple of txt files and a calculator.... but here's the latest week since I went radio silent.

I'm sorry for your troubles CG and I did get the Mr. Universe package! Youngest absconded with about half of it while I put the cape and bow on the Secret Surprise girl I have naked and ready for customizing. She seems exceedingly grateful for the adds.

Monday 2/5
Only a little over a mile walked. Some cleaning but no gardening or exercise. I decided to just work on ponies and have a me-no-thinky day. Almost done painting on a G4 seapony sculpt in a G1 style since I consider the new "seaponies" to be merponies. Because G1 had that too.  :pout:

Tuesday 4/5
A little over three miles walked. Heavy cleaning and moving things about and into storage properly. Enough to count for exercise. Little to no gardening.

Wednesday 4/5
A bit under two and a half miles walked. Decided not to go to the Market but did go and get more greenery to eat from one of the smaller grocers. Some gardening, cleaning, and even exercise done.

----------------------------------------- MAY total 89
----------------------------------------- JUNE start

Thursday 3/5
1 3/4 miles walked. Not much gardening done beyond walking past and seeing if I need to weed. (I didn't yet.) A lot of cleaning done and I can finally see the light on a space I can sit to work in for more than an hour and not feel like my hips are going to protest if I try and get up. No exercise.

Friday 4/5
2 1/3 miles walked. A great pile of gardening done! Went to Lowes for sales (I really should know to stay out of there... ^^;) and finished another three projects but forgot to get the things for one of the two that I'd walked in for.
Spoiler
This I took out a rotting half barrel and made the plant stand useable then bought some items from a salvage shop (including a new plum tree) and brought out a decoration I'd had in storage and bought back my second year in college.  ^.^

It now has a rock and stone border and is perfectly set up for a solar powered fountain I put on my Wishlist (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0015AZPHW/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I4V6YT13PCTXP&colid=3TW9MXJTCWYK0).  ;)  I hope it's still there by the time Christmas rolls around so hubby can surprise me.

Saturday 5/5
1 2/3 miles walked. Some gardening done since I finally remembered where I put my edger. A great deal of cleaning done. We got to see Wonder Woman and Youngest was delighted! We even managed to accidentally sit right behind some of our closest friends who'd had the same idea independently. ^.^

Sunday 2/5
About a mile walked. Very little gardening or cleaning but I did a lot of pony customizing. ^^; Eldest and Youngest went off with MiL to see great grandma before we likely have to put her in a home...  -_-  Low score because of how little I've done and how low I feel right now (although I know this is needed to prevent separation anxiety for me and Youngest later in life...).

Okay so Sat 6/3 was a 3/5.  Didn't work on any projects, but that's because my aunt that I haven't seen in about 10 years was in town only for the day so I decided that seeing her was more important.

Sun 6/4 was a 3/5.  I didn't walk on the treadmill but I did the other stuff.

I agree, Pokey.  Sometimes you have to put your own plans aside to take advantage of seeing a loved one.  It sounds grim, but you never know when the last time will be so you have to hold them close when the opportunity presents itself  :grouphug:

It can be hard to keep working out when you don't feel like it.

6/6 4/5 today. I didn't feel like working out again today but I made 2 laps anyway. I also didn't buy the movie popcorn today that I have been hoping to get. Later I went to store and didn't buy extra treats although they were tempting.

I guess I should have elaborated.  But yeah, basically a guy got fired in April and decided to shoot up the place on Monday.  Five dead.  No one I personally know but one person was the uncle of a coworker.  Not that that makes it any better or easier.  So completely senseless.

6/6 summary

only 7000 steps but two weight training sessions so that's good

I haven't posted for a few days, ugh... I suck!

I give yesterday a 4/5.
Saturday - Monday all get 3/5 because I didn't do terribly, but I wasn't at my best either.

I've had two interviews this week and another one tomorrow. Luckily my boss at my current job has allowed me to move my hours around a bit so that I'm still getting paid for all of my hours despite having to take off time to go to interviews and stuff. My husband is away in NH this week for work related stuff, so I've been incredibly lonely (when my ferrets aren't awake, plus all of my friends have been busy)...which means lots of working out to pass the time. That isn't a bad thing! I haven't been to the gym in over a week though, but I'm determined to go tomorrow because I need to start running again.

I hope you all have been doing well! I'm gonna go back and read the posts I've missed whenever I have time.

I give myself 5/5 for yesterday. No walking today, but getting a lot of chores done. Time for another round of mopping! *does a fake happy dance*

But I'm also digging a bit deeper than the usual maintenance/repetitive chores and getting a little bit into the large one-time-and-its-done chores. So 4/5 for today.

Just read through and I'm glad you're doing okay Heathersmoo!

Monday 5/5
Cleaned some and gardened more. Walked 2 3/4 miles. Some small bit of exercise done. Heart rate went up because Grandma decided to start off their trip update with the phrase, "Your child has had an issue and it's serious." The "serious" thing was that her water bottle had broken and Grandma was trying hard not to laugh.  -_-

Tuesday 3/5
Almost no cleaning. Plenty of light gardening and working on ponies. No real exercise but I did get vigorous on my walk. A little over 2 1/3 miles walked. Eldest woke me with a text asking why Youngest gets called "Lil' Sis" when neither of the older two children did. I explained it was a play on my nickname and their mother's name was not so easy to make an association. (Not mentioned was the fact that Grandma likes me better than Wife1)  :P

Wednesday 5/5
Made it to the Farmers Market! Even processed all of the fruits and veggies I didn't cook with today. Bonus! Cleaned my kitchen then gardened at the church before coming home to work on ponies and clean in the living room. Went to do more gardening in my backyard but the cleaning portion was interrupted by a juvenile Eastern Black Kingsnake popping out of a bag of trash and I wish my current heart rate was less than my adrenaline trying to tack on two more miles to my distance total today. Exercise achieved. :faint:

I know I should drink water but I don't want water.

It's ok to have a source for a day. I used drink soda like water, but like you I found substitutions. After time went on, I would have a craving for soda. Drank one soda and was able to go for my substitution for future drinks.

1/5 not feeling the best. I kind of knitted, but just feeling miserable

Thanks archidraca and ponyfan.  I'm glad to be ok too, more than anyone.

Regarding the water discussion, I feel you guys.  I really don't like the taste, or lack of it, in water, never have.  However, I keep a strict budget to afford the travel that is one of my high life priorities so I don't buy drinks at work or buy drinks to bring to work.  I use the free tea, water, hot chocolate, coffee, etc.  That's just what works for me personally and I will admit that I'm strange :P

6/7 summary
only walked 2 miles, I still feel weird being outside because of the shooting.  I'm trying to force myself to go out for a bit but not too much.  The weather has been unusually rainy too which hasn't helped.  I've been upping my weight training to make up the difference- yay for two sessions a day!
intake 515 cal, fought off a more moderate binge, weighed myself and I'm below my pre-travel weight already!  I'm thrilled :)
water 1.5L, meant for 3 but it just didn't happen
started knitting a muff and made myself a macrame necklace and keychain set with some extra Danish kronner

By foregoing apples and dates, I have created a new challenge for myself. What do I snack on when I'm out on long walks? I go out after 8am and don't get home until lunch time. Raw veggies aren't as enjoyable to eat as apples are, unless I make dip or something. I could take hard boiled eggs, I suppose. Maybe I'll have to take a lunch box with a freezer pack, so I can keep spoile-ables in my backpack. Then stop in the middle of my lunch to have a rest and a snack.

I've seen this before and I swear it's actually how I feel.

I give yesterday a 4/5. I did really well even though I didn't make it to the gym.

I honest to God plan on going to the gym tonight. My bestie asked me how I've been liking Planet Fitness and I told her it's awesome, especially when I have someone to go with. My current gym buddy is a single mom with a pre-school aged kid, so she isn't able to make it to the gym that often right now, so it'd be nice to have another gym buddy. I'm gonna see if I can bring her as a guest tonight and see how she likes the place. That's incentive enough for me to finally drag myself back there.

Regarding drinking water: I'm one of the only people I know who can easily go through over 100 oz. of water every day, no problem. I understand not liking the taste (or lack thereof) though. My advice is to infuse the water with fruit. Lemon is always great, but sweet fruits are better. ^.^

6/8  3/5

I made 2 laps around the mail. I was going to make 3 but something unexpected happened that scared me a little so I didn't complete the 3rd round. (I'm fine though)  I didn't get any free samples and at lunch I ordered a healthier meal and one healthy side.

Yes, I can have cashew butter. That would probably taste just as good with celery sticks. Thanks for the idea. :)

Now then, by the time I finished my chores and memorizing, it was almost lunch time. So I ate lunch and it 34°C outside and I don't feel like walking out in that. So I not only have to rejig my walking snacks, I think I might have to rearrange my schedule so I don't wind up walking in the middle of the afternoon.

Oh, if only hubby could drive himself again, then I could get an early morning start.

3/5 for today.

I must be the only one who loves water!

I can't have it sweetened or flavored* because that's gross to me. But the only weird thing is I can't drink it cold and I drink it room temperature or hot.

*I'll throw in a ceylon cinnamon stick in if I drink it hot... or make mint water... and that's probably it for flavors.

Thursday. 3/5. I did some chores but didn't go on a walk because it was getting to be the hottest time of the day.

Friday 1/5. I got hit with some laziness and didn't feel like doing anything. I got the laundry done, though.

Saturday 4/5. I went grocery shopping alone and had the rest of the 4 do chores at home. Then I did chores at home too. I don't know how I had enough energy for it, but I did and I liked it. We also played a board game together later in the day. It was a very good day.

SDS we all deserve a break day. It gets us recharge.

Ok let's try this again. 2/5 I knitted and I just recorded. I know that is lame for me, but I set up the number system to gain points for participants, and myself. I wanted to earn points and be rewarded after so many points...but I have stunk at recording.

I had a spinach smoothie for breakfast and I stopped at Subway to pick up a wrap for lunch. Assuming my dinner will be on point, I feel like I'm already on track for a perfect day!

6/12
A not so great day for me. I let myself get stressed out and as a result wasn't as careful about making healthier choices.

3/5 I powerwalked 3 times around the mall and drank water when I really wanted Coke. I will try to do better tomorrow.

Warning this could be a long post...it's ok if you do not read:p well here is the life changing news....I thought this was a no as I got a monthly visit for two days, and it stopped.......I am pregnant!!!!!! I am so excited. We have been trying for almost a year. It was just confirmed today at the doctors.

So I really need to step up my games...it's not about me any more.

1. Walk/Treadmill 15min. I need to do this daily. I want to keep healthy and moveable until it's not a possible.
2. Healthy Eating. I have started to feel more hungry. I have a water bottle to take to work with me. I plan to cut up veggies so I can snack when I feel hungry. I know this will not stop all cravings, but it's a good step.
3. Reading. I have books to read in preparation.
4. Crafting/knitting I am just piling on my projects. So I am making a temp blanket, and it will fit a king sized bed. I hope to finish it before it gets cold. So about 3 months maybe 4. We'll I want to do temp blanket for the days I am pregnant for a baby blanket:) I also want to work on some projects before fall. So working on multiple projects is not working...too much unraveling. So I am keeping notes on what I am focusing on projects to completion.
5. Music. Well this was to be my income once I go on maternity leave. As of right now I have a studio with no students. So I need to be practicing and advertising daily.

I put all this in my calandra book, so I hope to be better, now that this is not just for me, but for a baby on the way....

Oh and I do hope for twins!!! It runs in the family:)

I give yesterday a 5/5! My dinner wasn't the healthiest, but it wasn't that bad either. Other than that, everything went really well and I was even able to sleep for a full 6 /12 hours (that seems to be my limit) last night.

Delightful news, Crowning_Glory13!! :green:

Saturday 5/5
Youngest had her dance recital! Another year down! Near hyperventilating anxiety attack worked through via simultaneous adrenaline kick in when I thought we'd somehow forgotten one of the outfits (I'd put them all together a month ago and checked them weekly plus just before we left the house. Didn't stop me from driving back to the house when the first checks of the dressing room and car failed to turn up the hiding bag.) :freak: I had family up so last second cleaning and some small gardening done. We all went to my niece's first birthday as well. Busy busy busy. :gallop: Walked just under three miles. :run:

Sunday 3/5
Walked 1 1/3 miles. A little gardening done, mostly watering. A lot of rest. One day my mom will be able to walk in my house and it will be CLEAN not just mostly neat.  :pout: Youngest is wanting to learn to cook so we made spaghetti and meatballs with cheese, Gold Star chili (plus beans), and caramelized onions (because she hates eating raw onion). It was delicious.

No real cleaning and absolutely no exercise done as I decided to Overwatch for a bit.

Monday 4/5
Don't know exactly how much I walked because I did laundry and somehow put my FitBit through the wash again... It was at least a mile and a half because we walked through part of the mall and then through a mega-Walmart for a few hours and my step count stopped at around 5pm. I walked outside to make sure nothing was dying but didn't do anything beyond that. Enough roughhousing to count as exercise. Picking up a 40+ lbs child who's wriggling around is exercise. ;)

Tuesday 3/5
Got the recycling and some more cleaning and laundry done. Mostly watering done in the garden but I also pinned up my gladiolus stems together so maybe they'd stand a little taller for the bigger bees. Also, my largest non-deformed cucumber grown to date.

And I'm still not posting my numbers regularly.  So I'll just do a big update.

6/5-5/5
6/6-5/5
6/7-5/5
6/8-5/5
The last four days saw a lot of progress on organizing bits in my room and getting scrapbook pages done.  I'm still working on pictures from 2007 so I have a long way to go but progress is happening.  :)  Plus 2007 was a big year for photos because I was working at Disney World so there were a lot of photo opportunities.  I'm betting the other years will go faster once I start working on them.  No, I don't do digital scrapbooking because I like to play with glue and stickers.  :P

6/9-5/5 Did everything on the list but pulled my Achilles tendon so I think I'm going to take a few days off from the treadmill to let it rest.
6/10-3/5 Working on various projects.
6/11-3/5 Working on projects.
6/12-3/5 Working on projects.
6/13-3/5  In my head I know I want to paint (I'm almost done with three different boxes) but when I sat down to paint today, I didn't want to.  So I'm going to take a break from painting and try working on a different project.  I will probably try the treadmill tomorrow.

In happier news my nephew got moved out of the ICU last night. :yippee:

6/13

3/5 I didn't get to go to the mall to walk so I did 3 miles on the exercise bike. Later I went to store and took extra steps while walking around the store.

6/14

3/5 I walked 3 times around the mall. I did get a bag of movie popcorn at movie theater but ended up brining half a bag home. I also didn't get a drink with my popcorn.

I'm not doing so well on healthy meals this week.

Post by: Rainbowrific Renia on June 15, 2017, 09:15:23 AM
For Tuesday, I give myself a 4/5. I did pretty good, but then I ate a ton of popcorn and some other snacks when we went to see Wonder Woman. I also drank some pop...there's this new Pepsi out, Pepsi Fire, and I just had to try it.

I give yesterday a 5/5. I didn't hit my step goal (I was at 11,567/12,000 before bed) but I did so well with everything else! I went to the gym for the third morning in a row and all of the food I ate was healthy. I even made a fruit pizza for dessert that turned out super good.

I have more to add to the "Renia is really trying to get a new job" saga. I went in for a second interview today with a company that needs and office assistant for up to 30 hours a week. I was told that I got one of the highest scores they've ever seen on the Microsoft Excel aptitude test and that it's down to me and one other person for the position. I'll know tomorrow afternoon if I got the job or not... and if I get it, I start Monday! Now yes, I have a job right now as an Introduction into Information Technology tutor at the local community college, but it's only 18 hours a week and doesn't pay very much. It isn't bad, just not what I'd like. So, *if* I get this new job, I can still work my current job! I'd just have to change my hours, and my boss is flexible about that so it should work! I'm so excited! This seems like it might be the one! :frolic:

That's some great news about your nephew, Pokeyonekenobie!

I very much got stuck in an "I'm now lazy" rut and I have to break back out. Maybe it's because summer break is almost here and all three kids will be home. My ability to have quiet, personal times is nearing a end, so I think I've just wanted to goof off and have fun by myself while it lasts. I haven't gone on a walk since last Tuesday.

I don't want to stay in the rut. The walking, the cleaning and all that really helps with the depression and I don't want to get sucked back into it.

Sunday June 11 to Friday June 16, I think I'll give myself 2/5 for each of those days. I still did some basic chores.

Things will help once Mr. Stomper has his new glasses and can drive himself to work again. Then I can get an early morning start to my long walks so I'm not out there when it starts getting uncomfortable with the heat.

EDIT: Oops, my brain went south for a moment there. Congrats on the wee one, CG! :cheer: :joy:

6/16 2/5 I walked around the mall and didn't get any free samples. However, I skipped lunch and ended up overeating later.

6/17  2/5 I didn't work out but did take extra steps at the stores. I wasn't so careful about what I was eating.

6/18  1/5 I am having some slight health issues today but I haven't been snacking between meals.

I am starting to crave ice cream and chips which is unusual for me. I'm also wanting more Coke and less water.

Ahh the sudden urge to have the not so healthy stuff. Try to resist. Giving in sometimes sets you way back. But find a reward for resisting. This way you can say, coke or pamper me day. It could help you get over the hurdel.

I feel like posting some pics but don't wish to clutter the feed with them so they're all under spoilers.

Wednesday 4/5
Went to the midweek Market with Youngest and let her play in the fountain for a bit over an hour. A little gardening done and a little cleaning. Just over 1 3/4 miles walked. No exercise.

Thursday 4/5
Went to Safety City in the morning with Youngest which is a mini-Knoxville biking area for kids. Keeping up with even a learning child is exercise. I watered and weeded but did no gardening as I start prepping for the SEpony Meet. Over two miles walked.

Friday 3/5
I did nearly nothing this day. Some shopping was done and I planted a couple of pots with tropical trees that will be annuals if I forget to take them into the garage this winter. Almost no cleaning and only 1 3/4 miles walked.

Saturday 4/5
Went to the Saturday Market with 2 of 3 kids as none of us wished to wake Middle child. Stayed for the Pride parade and puttered about in the garden for a bit retraining vines. Cleaned a bit in the kitchen so I could feel decent firing up my grill. Kebobs for dinner and s'mores with the kids for desert. If I'd done anything resembling enough movement for exercise this would have been a perfect day. Amongst that I walked close to 3 miles.

5/5 for yesterday. I went to the gym with my friend. I started week 3 of the Couch to 5k app. I ran for 3 minutes straight and didnt get winded! I love that app.

Sunday 3/5. I walked to church and walked home from church. I was also heavily depressed, so the fact that could power my way through that walk was pretty impressive.

Monday 4/5. It wasn't a walking day, but I walked to the store and back anyway. I even called my Pa on my way back, so "taking him on my walk with me" was quite a mood boost. And I got some work done on chores that I didn't do very much of last week.

Tuesday 5/5. I went on a 9.84 mile walk. :faint: I got an early start, too. As a fun bonus, I walked across the bridge on Ft. Whoop-Up Drive. There is a weather/traffic camera pointed on that road, and I called my Pa again just before I came into view. He got to watch me walk along that way as we talked on the phone. (Here, you can see it for yourself here (https://westlethbridgeweather.com/cameras/). First image.) That was fun. I also did a few chores later on in the day, despite being worn out. So not too bad.

I can't even give myself a point for Monday because I literally did nothing. My anxiety and depression decided to make themselves known again and I was stuck in bed all day because of it.

Yesterday I give a 5/5, though. To make up for Monday, I hit the gym hard, walked, ate well (except dinner) and stayed active even while I was at work.

A 9+ mile walk, SDS? That's amazing!

Hate how those anxiety and depression hit hard, Renia. Big hugs.

They don't tell you how painful pregnancy can be. I am maybe 5 weeks, but I hurt all over at night. I have very little pain relievers to choose from. I did knit, vacume my house and walked...so 2/5 for Monday. Sigh piano is taking a back burner again:(
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Summer
Post by: Rainbowrific Renia on June 22, 2017, 08:38:46 AM
It's horrible. I just hate how I can have an amazing day, go to sleep, and then wake up feeling like a failure for no good reason. I had such a great weekend and tried to fight off the feelings, but anxiety and depression absolutely don't care how good you feel. At least it only lasted the one day.

I've heard some pregnancy horror stories when it comes to the pain. It's part of the reason why I don't want kids. Like...kudos to the women out there that can and have dealt with it! You got this, Crowing_Glory13! :bigups: I hope that you don't have to deal with the pain during most of these 9 months.

I give yesterday a 4/5. I actually woke up yesterday morning with bad leg cramps, but I managed to get in a light cardio dance workout before work. My granddad was kind enough to drive me to work, since I didn't want to risk driving with the cramps. After a few hours at work, my legs felt fine! Enough so that I walked around campus for 45 minutes after work, waiting for my husband to come and get me. Good news is that today I don't have any cramps and I was able to drive! :satisfied: I was fully prepared for a trip to the ER if the cramps had lasted any longer.

Stretching and long slow walks can help with the pain, CG. I did that and didn't really show until a month out. It helps that I have always had a high pain tolerance level but do take it slow and easy.

2/5 yesterday. I had to drive Mr. Stomper to get his eyes examined. They gave him those eye drops that dilate the eyes and so he had to stay home all day. I got nothing else done, really.

5/5 today. I walked 3.5 miles instead of 4, BUT it was dang blasted cold, cloudy and windy and I stupidly underdressed. However, I did give away more ponies for others to play with/collect. I also got a good number of chores done. Now it's relax and be warm time.

I will give an extra 5 points if you choose to take on this challenge. You had a reason to start healthy pony....what is the why? Why did you doing Healthy pony? Why are you still working on healthy pony? We all want to know why. Think about this. Take some time reflect and think of why:).

Posting now so I only have to do the weekend when I can pay better attention again.

Monday 3/5
Not much gardening done. A little cleaning done so I could cook and more because I stress clean.  ^^;  A little over 1 3/4 miles walked. Nothing that I could count as exercise.

Tuesday 3/5
Youngest had a dental appointment so walking the mall it was in became the activity of the day. She was upset because mommy has mall-immunity from working in one before so we didn't buy anything while there although we'll likely go back for Eldest's birthday present. Walked 2 1/3 miles. Got a few bits of fresh greenery for dinner. A little cleaning. No exercise. Maintenance gardening.

Wednesday 4/5
A LOT of cleaning done. Enough cleaning with heavy lifting and stretching to count as exercise. Decided not to go to the Farmer's Market. Some more maintenance gardening done. Grapes and cucumbers dislike being told where and how to grow. Walked 2 1/3 miles.

Thursday 4/5
Getting ready for pony meetup like I would for any Con so going up and down stairs enough for exercise. My FitBit acknowledged 21 trips up the stairs as I finish cleaning and rearranging the things I'm finishing before the cutoff vs the things I'll bring for "just in case". Somehow only 2 miles walked. Garden maintenance done with Youngest so she could pick fresh food and we shared some blueberries, raspberries, and cucumbers. Tomatoes should be soon and figs before the end of the summer.

Whew 21 trips up stairs...wow. Heart is acting up or my sleep is causing issues with my body. It's now a norm to wake up at 2:00am and 4:00am to pee. So for the extra info. So I was having a hard time breathing and dizzy, and weakness. Work did not get me out until 7 hours later. I am a good worker, but I listen to my body...sadly they know I am pregnant...but that didn't change anything. I barely made it home. I napped/passed out for 3 hours. Sorry to be all poor me, poor me. Sometimes I have to let the negative out, so I can focus on the positive and healthy me...

I will hopefully get to knit, as I need to work on a blanket, and finish a pair of leg warmers. So far my wild nephews have been good. I am just still tired and weak.

My why. I am lonely. I try and make real life friends, but it's hard for me. I am friendly, but I am either too old, or don't have kids at the moment. So I do healthy pony to kind of make friends. I feel so happy when i read posts and get to see others lives. I just feel those posting have so much inspiration and great ambitions. I just get excited to get my notification when people post.

I was doing so well, but lately I have been overdoing it. I'm eating unhealthy portions again and not watching my extra Cokes as much. Today I've already eaten a lot of rolls, more than I should have. I had already planned on letting myself get  a small reward tomorrow. I'm still going to get it but I need some motivation to get back on track.

Friday 2/5

Saturday 2/5

Today 0/5

I joined healthy pony because I needed something to motivate me to make healthier choices. Knowing I would have to post here on the choices I made each day helped me finally start getting healthy.

Wow..June is almost over. JULY 31st is our final day!!!! It has been going way too fast! I am on day 16/365!  Not a huge amount, but it's progress. When I get done with June 2016 I will post a picture. Yesterday is a 2/5. I knitted and did a long walk around a museum. Not a very healthy day. I had a bout of nausea, so knitting and walking is all I will get to today. I do have a prospect for a music studio. If it goes through, I could actually start getting students! I pan to teach as I stay home with the baby. So anything now will help allot! So today 2/5.

In the depths of my illness  :dizzy: , archidraca was a true ray of sunshine  :sunny:  After admiring her berry basket earlier during the challenge here, she sent me one! :mail:  It arrived early with Fluffle Puff and I mutually gasping at one another lol. :silly:  It really helped me feel a bit better. :sqh:  My elderly rat is enjoying the influx of fresh berries :straw: in the house now that it is easier to keep them.  Words really cannot describe how happy I was to be remembered!   :sqs: Thank you so very much to...

I joined healthy pony to lose weight and I have... hoping I will hit my precise goals before the month ends.  Getting sick really set me back but I have a few more days to set it right.  Then on to making a weight loss goal for July!

I meant to write this yesterday but I was tired after the long bit of driving I did this weekend. 3-4 hours each way and the next day church and picking up hubby from the airport.  :snore:  No accurate mileage as I cannot find my phone right now and my stress level is the only reason I'm awake still.  :pout:

Friday 4/5
Back and forth as I put most of everything into the car the night before and made the hard decision of which G3s I actually had room for in the minuscule remaining space. Maintenance gardening for a break or two.

Saturday 3/5
Endurance is an exercise. Plenty of walking. Loading and unloading of the car. S.E. Pony Meet successful! Child was charming and mostly well behaved. No gardening because I got up to begin the day at 4:30am and didn't step foot in the house until nearly 11pm. BTW, McDs chicken biscuits keep ridiculously well in a hot car and are still edible for a dinner on the go.

Sunday 3/5
Nothing I can count as exercise but walking galore. We picked a cucumber and some fruit for dinner. I fought the fennel for dominance and forced it back into uprightness with only one stalk broken!

Monday 1/5
Perhaps should be higher but I'm not happy at all with myself today. Lost my FitBit while disrobing but since I remembered that eventually I found that an hour ago. Lost my phone some time after waking up and showing something to youngest and getting something from Walmart after dropping her off at daycamp. Plenty of walking as I cruised through the store four more times in effort to find it (none of which truly counts as FitBit was still hiding). We picked from the garden and had a lovely cucumber salad almost exclusively grown by us, salt and pepper notwithstanding. My elevated blood pressure may count as exercise. Just going to go to sleep now and hope for the best...  -_-

I haven't been walking on the treadmill because I felt like my achilles needed more time to rest.  I think I'm going to try it again tomorrow and see how it goes.  The last time I "pushed through the pain" (a year ago) and ignored my body's signals it took me three months before I could walk without my achilles hurting and I'd rather not do that again.  It really set me back a lot more than if I had just taken it easy like I'm trying to do this time.  I have, however, made a lot of progress on my scrapbook and a couple of other projects.  I may try painting again this week as well to see if I'm over my "don't want to" phase with it.

I'm just so annoyed and anxious about the end of the month and making my personal weight goal that I set for myself at the beginning.  It is making me worry that the July goal I am thinking of setting won't be realistic and I will have to adjust everything.  I'm just so tired of doing so much and not seeing results.  I know why my weight has been stagnant for two months, travel and illness, but I'm a no excuses type of person so recognizing the stressors doesn't make me feel better about it.  Some days it feels like I'm going to be on calorie restriction forever.  I was fine with it for months and I'm just not anymore.  Just blah today.

...aaaaaand I disappeared again, sorry!

Started my new job today! I'm still trying to work out the kinks in my hours between the two jobs, but it kinda works for now. I went in to finish up some paperwork and spoke with the guy that will be training me- turns out he's a classmate from high school! We graduated high school together 9 years ago and were good friends, but have only talked through Facebook since. Turns out we both still play Pokemon Go, so he was pretty excited to have someone to walk with during lunch. So yay getting in more walking!

Let's see if I can remember how this weekend went:

Saturday I give a 4/5. Did a lot of walking, but wasn't super hungry at all during the day so I didn't eat bad either, because I didn't eat much.

Sunday, 4/5. Lots of walking again, but I had pizza and chicken wings for dinner. >_< I also dusted in the pony room, so it was nice to accomplish something that has been on my list.

Monday, 1/5. Mother Nature strikes again! I was bedridden due to cramps (I sometimes get them really bad during that time of the month), but I ate healthy foods to try and alleviate the pain.

Let me see.

Sunday. 3/5. Four miles. Didn't do chores or memorize. 3/5.

Monday. 4/5. Non walking day. Did do chores and did some memory review.

Tuesday. 5/5. No chores or memorizing, but I DID manage to walk 11 miles. Ah yeah, I think I'm going to manage that half-marathon distance after all. I used a different approach too. I took a 10 minute break for every hour I walked. In the end, I think that was good. Didn't hurt as much when I was done.

Wednesday. 3/5. Didn't memorize, but I did ride my bike to hubby's work (1 mile away) to give him the water bottle he forgot. Then later in the day, his new glasses arrived in the mail so the son and I walked there to deliver them to him. Got some chores done too, and then endured the presence of 3 teens and 1 pre-teen in the house for several hours. :dizzy:

Let's see, 5/5 for Tuesday and 2/5 for Wednesday.

I need to figure out how to incorporate going to the gym into my new schedule. For reference, I'm now working 43 hours a week, split between two jobs (25 at one, 18 at the other). I'll be gone from 8:30am until about 6pm every day. I could always wake up super early (like 5am) to go to the gym, or, realistically, I could go to the gym only on Saturday and Sunday. I won't know what a full week at both jobs will be like until the week after next, since July 4th is next week and I don't work that day. I guess once I experience a full week, I'll see what works for me. I'm excited about having a second job that allows to me keep my current job, but I'm nervous about how this will all work. I'm thankful for no weekend hours, but I kinda wish I could pick up maybe a Saturday at one place just to keep from having my whole week jam packed. We'll see!

My internet went out yesterday for several hours.

6/28 2/5 I walked 2 1/2 times around the mall but had a large unhealthy evening meal. I did have tea instead of Coke though.

6/29 4/5 I walked 3 times around the park which was a lot harder than walking around the mall. For lunch I had a little fast food but ate a lot of veggies with homemade dip. I also had a Coke Zero instead of regular Coke.

Rainbowrific, I understand the jungle of multiple jobs. I tried to keep my goals in mind and would test them. I learned that I wake up too early to get up earlier to work out. If I worked a desk job, I would walk and eat on my lunch break. Push to hard and your jobs won't think you can handle it. It's all in learning:)

I went home sick today:( nothing huge in being sick, but work was so over staffed they let me go home.i did knit and some Togo. So I am 2/5 today. I am on day 18 of 365 of my temp blanket.

Friday 1/5. I did some knitting.
Today. I did my walking, some gardening, and knitted. Just because I took more time to work out i give myself a 3.

So here is some news. I am going on vacation at the end of July. So I won't be very present at the last part of healthy pony. Keep going to the end. When I return, I will play catch up. Numbers that have been recorded, I will start adding together. Our top score will get a surprise from me:) I will announce that when I return:)

So, not good today:( a dear pony friend is going through a very hard time...just wish I could hug her. Darn internet not able to physically hug someone. Had my first appointment today. Thought there would be more, but just questions and blood work. I talked about my funky heart, and it was passed off like it was nothing. I felt the things I was concerned about and feeling was looked at as nothing. It could be no concern, but I just felt they didn't listen...doctors tend to do this to me a lot. I tend to avoid them for this. My puppy (well she's 7) dislocated her shoulder, so that vet bill is high. She is doing well and yeah, but I had to pass up a great pony deal:(  so I have knitted today. That will probably be it. I do need to watch my weight. I was hefty before the pregnancy, and recommended to not gain too much. I did gain 3 pounds between visits. Not bad or worriso me, but my age and weight can cause issues later down the road. Sorry to sad rant. It was more of a sad rant, not a what's your problem situation. Thanks for your time.

Unless someone takes healthy pony over....wich I am very ok with:) I will start healthy pony up again, around September. I have a vacation at the end of July, so I will be late wrapping up this healthy pony round. I have a prize for Bathing Beauty, Prize for healthy pony to get out:) then I feel I can go back to hosting healthy pony. If anyone wants to be the host, they most certainly can be:)

I'm so super behind now... I'm sorry. I still can't find my phone and the worry that causes has led to a number of down/depressed days where I didn't record much that went on.

Tuesday 3/5
Checked back in at Walmart for my phone... no go... Over 2 miles walked. Took Youngest out biking and walking. She's a darling who's trying to make mommy feel better. No gardening, no exercise.

Wednesday 3/5
Didn't go to the Market. Checked back in at Walmart for my phone... no go... A little over a mile walked.

Spoiler
Veggie smile!

Thursday 2/5
Not quite a mile walked. I did a good bit of sewing while trying to situate my life in the event I can't find my phone which is looking more and more likely by the hour... :sadness:

Friday 4/5
Checked back in at Walmart for my phone... no go... A mile and 3/4 walked. A good bit of gardening done even with the rain. More cleaning done. No exercise.

----------------------------------------- JUNE total 105
----------------------------------------- JULY start

Saturday 3/5
A bit over 2 1/4 miles walked. Went to party with Eldest and Youngest at a friend's new house. There were plenty of pool hijinx. I held myself back from overly partaking of most anything but fruit and fresh salads. I did have a burger though. Watching a 6yo in the pool counts as exercise. Period. -_-

Spoiler
Fruit!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Sunday 2/5
Only about 3/4 miles walked. I didn't feel well. The stress from my phone remaining missing meant that when my Youngest said that I didn't have to go to church we stayed home and chilled. Little gardening and no exercise.
Spoiler
I picked this to grill with lobster tail. I also did a beef butt portion. I got some new toys for my grill earlier this year and cooking helps with depression for me.

Monday 4/5
Checked back in at Walmart for my phone... no go... Almost 2 3/4 miles walked since I rewalked the store twice before going to the grocery store and Lowes. Because therapy shopping is an unhealthy problem of mine... :pout:
Spoiler
We now have enough coming in out of the garden for our version of cucumber salad and refridgerator pickles. Youngest loves to help me spot the done ones and I do need that help often as I miss too many on my own. ^^;

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Tuesday 5/5
Fourth of July! Unfortunately mixed feelings as I love watching fireworks but Eldest despises them with the vehemence of a nervous chihuahua. Did a lot of grilling as therapy. Only the bare minimum of gardening as we've had torrential rain for almost a week now. A lot of bending so I'll say I had exercise. Walked 2 1/3 miles but only because the power went out and I'm one of the neighbors that walks to the ends of the roads to see if it's something we need to call in or not. This one was something not on our block but affecting the surrounding 4 miles of homes.
Spoiler
Fresh grilled bison burgers with herbs out of my garden, brats, devilled eggs, green beans, grilled corn, watermellon, and cucumber salad is my idea of a nearly perfect 4th of July meal. I did this in SPITE of the rain that kept most of the neighbors indoors. Until they smelled my cooking. Then it was on like Donkey Kong. ^.^

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Wednesday 3/5
Didn't go to the Market. About 1 1/2 miles walked as I did laundry and finally was able to do a little more than poke longingly at a few branches on my way back into the house.

Thursday 3/5
Close to two miles. Made a new interior garden. It's changed as of Sunday but I haven't taken pics yet of the changes. I want to make some fairy garden type accessories for it first.
Spoiler

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Friday 4/5
1 1/4 miles walked. Some gardening done. A lot of cleaning done as I checked the last place the phone could have possibly been even though it was a very long shot.
Spoiler
I got jealous of the huge cucumbers one of the other mothers at Youngest's daycamp can grow (she was sharing some of the excess and this wasn't even the largest one there...) and picked enough to make another batch of cucumber salad and some more pickles. The figs are nearing the first batch to ripen and I wouldn't have picked this one if it hadn't come off when I touched it. We'll have a good number of decoration pumpkins for Halloween this year too. ^.^

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Saturday 2/5
Only a little over a mile walked. Did a little grocery shopping with Youngest. Only poked my head out to make sure the garden hadn't been hit by any more large branches. No exercise.

End of super long info dump and pictures.

Sorry for not updating. When the kids are home on summer break, I don't use the computer as much. I haven't consistently walked for a week and a half because we are under a heat wave. Because of that, I stay inside much of the time. It's frustrating as I don't want to lose my walking endurance, but I also don't want to hurt myself because it was too warm outside. Hopefully, it will pass soon.

Oh my goodness SDS watch that heat. It can be sneaky. You may not think it's too much, than later you are sick as a dog. I know you love walking, but spending time with family is wonderfully important. It may not be a walking day, but the benefits are always 5 days:)

Archidraca I am so sorry about your phone. I would be lost too. Those fruit and veggies look amazing. I am drooling over your pictures. You did such a job maintaining your depression and being with your kids. That can be tough:)

I have been ok. I have been sick and tired most days. Knitting even took a back seat.

Sunday 3/5
A little over a mile walked. Some more gardening but mostly just watering. No real cleaning.
Spoiler
She loves figs. I do too. A pretty large haul today. Borage flowers are the two purple/blue ones by the strawberry. They're edible and taste faintly of cucumber.

Monday 3/5
A mile and 3/4 walked. More gardening. Laundry day. This, to no one's surprise, upset hubby's cat who had gotten used to me delaying laundry until it was an all day affair. :)

Tuesday 5/5
A little over three miles walked. A lot of cleaning done as hubby wanted me to double check under the sofas for my phone... Still missing... Some gardening done but not much as, once again, my green beans have run out of climbing room and I can no longer add height without being unable to tend to them without potentially needing a stepladder. They're about 8' off the ground as is now. Got my front yard trimmed and mowed, though I still need to clip the hedges.
Spoiler
Eggplant! My largest ever, no less. :D
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Wednesday 5/5
Went to the Farmer's Market! There was an inner city summer camp group who had an outing with coupons specifically so they could spend them at the Market at most of the stands. They nearly cleared out the stand that had fresh strawberries. ^.^  A friend brought over zucchini and cucumbers from his wife's garden so we have "salad and pickles for days" as Youngest said repeatedly. Almost three miles walked.
Spoiler
More figs! Of course the garden is doing well enough that I have an overabundance of some things.

Thursday 3/5
Almost two and a half miles walked. A lot of gardening done. I decided I had enough energy to attempt starting some filler seed near where I'm trying to drive out the Creeping Jenny so I hand tilled that after turning over my compost. I had to buy more soy milk for hubby so I stopped at the garden center for more bits and bobs for my succulent fairy gardens inside. It took going to an organic-centric grocer to find the pepermint oil I need for my "make the fruit unlikeable to birds/pests/etc" spray. Peppermint, lemon juice, and water sprayed directly on the fruit leads to one or two experimental pecks and then they leave them alone! More fruit for me. Although... I do have to apply it twice daily for best results...  ^^;  On the downer side, during our morning tour of the edibles Youngest noted that she couldn't find the peach. We searched for a litle but it hadn't fallen anywhere around it (kinda obvious because I made sure to put a proper barrier to prevent casual mishaps like that) so I surmised that someone must have stolen our only peach of the year. I did find it later, before the ants managed to get to it, and salvaged what I could as the culprit had taken only a couple of big bites where it had been prettiest and tossed the remainder about 35' away in my lawn. So we did get to sample our first peach but I'm still angry at that unknown thief. >_<

Spoiler
Because I found a yellow jacket nest, to add to my giant list of downers, I decided to splurge on this beauty that came available. Pony people are nice enough to help me stay in my budget so hubby doesn't cut off my hobbies. :P

Hopefully these dangerous freeloaders are dead by dawn. I may not check until 4pm though. Let the 90 plus degree heat do it's job. I have more bleach.

I'm starting to be a little more lenient on some of these days where I pick fresh from the garden and count those towards Market days. Because the whole point to me going to Market is to get locally grown, mostly organic (even without the labelling) food.

So I got on the band wagon of knitting...yup broke my needles. I got this pack of metal needles. They have a connecting wire that connects the needles. I love it...but after awhile of knitting...and it's about several months of daily knitting...a part near the connecting joint breaks. Basically I am bending and rebending metal..so they break. It's sad and frustrating. I have told the company...but replacement wire is $2.00.....the pregnancy fatigued has really gotten to me. I did talk to the doctor, but they are not concerned. I do believe that the stress of pregnancy is causing heart issues...i told them that and they over looked it...said I was fine. I don't feel very comforting.

But I have changed my mind. I put the point system in place to help evaluate your progress, and me to calculate for a prize winner....well I changed my mind. I want to give you all something. Being on this journey with has been wonderful. I was able to cry, cheer, improve, grow, and bond with you. I want to do this for you. All you have to do is send me a PM.
Prize Options
1. I can knit you a yarn star, from coaster size to head cover on a chair size (will get pictures soon) any color of your choice. They take me a day to do. Super easy and light on shipping.
2. Discount on any knitting project. My trade has pictures of my work. You may also trade the remaining cost.
3. Discount on any of my wings or a custom design. Pictures are in my trades.

My trade link is below this post. Please PM with your choice:) thank You for letting me do this.

Sorry to hear about the wire on your needles, CG.  That's why I don't use that type anymore.  It is just so frustrating!  You would think they would stand up to normal use which for many knitters is daily use.  I'll have to give some thought to which prize option I am up for- it is a big decision.  Does that mean we shouldn't be evaluating our days with points anymore?  I'll keep doing it until you tell me to knock it off!

 ^.^

I've honestly been having such a wonderful time at my new job, and I'm getting used to being happy again. I had one rough day this week, the day after the 1 year anniversary of my little brother's death, but at the end of the day I was crying because I realized I was finally in a good spot in my life. Part of that has been taking a break from some social media and the internet in general, which is why I haven't posted.

Giving myself points each day is something I think I'll do every day from now on. It really helps.
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Summer

 for Renia. :)

I went on a 4.3 mile walk this morning. During the last 20 minutes of the walk, I called up my Pa on the cell phone again so he could "come" with me. It's very therapeutic to talk to him. I love my Pa.

I have an update about the fruit fast I mentioned a while back. I stopped eating all fruit and drink only a little bit of water kefir. As a result of not eating sugar (even natural stuff), I have been sleeping better. I can fall asleep easier and when I wake up in the night, it's brief. I'm pleased with that.

Renia you are not bad for not posting. This all about getting to that good place. And you got there Renia. I am so happy and proud of you. I do feel sorry for your lost, but you being happy is all the joy some one who passes wants for you. These are the feel good moments I live for, in healthy pony.

So....i bought a pair of shirts 2 sizes too big, before I knew I was pregnant...they are too small and I am only 2 months at most. So I am either growing fast...or I am putting on way more pounds. I do eat healthy 90% of the time. Like I eat mostly raw fruits and veggies. But I am not walking/working out as much as I should.

So healthy pony is about 2 weeks left. My goal is to walk/work out everyday. That is my priority as we end this round of healthy pony. If I meet this goal, I can buy a sister sweet celebrations pony.

I will be gone from healthy pony starting next Friday the 27th. I will have limited internet. I will catch up with all of you Aug 7ish. Keep up all your hard work.

I have come to really appreciate all your hard work and support. I would like to send you ALL something. I can knit a star for you in any color even multiple colors. From coaster size to the size of your head. That is 100% free:) I love making them and they are quick.

YOU can also get a HUGE discount on custom wings I have on hand or your custom idea:) or HUGE discount on a knitted project from pony wear to human wear:) no worries on shipping.  So if you want a $10 pair of wings..i would charge $5. If you had a $5 item to trade I would also trade:)

I will do healthy pony again starting Sept 1st. I will give you more on that.

Hearthmoo, I have lost my dress pattern:( I am sad as I was working on it...so I have a mid project with no instructions....i hope to find it someday.

My challenge is not going so well. I am not throwing up. It just hurts to move. Breathing sometimes even hurts. Called the doctor any they really don't have anything. Not upset, as most books tell me the first weeks can be rough.

I do have a knitting pattern for a stuffed unicorn. I am going to work on it on my vacation. It looks super easy. I hope to make replicas of favorite ponies:) I haven't gotten yarn for my babies blanket yet...sigh I should get on that>_<

Well here is probably my last post until I get back from vacation. We go to the 31st. I will pop in when I get back or get more access to internet. Thank you all for going on this journey with me. I hit a hard struggle in my life and this round really kept me going. So many of you made a lot of progress. You should be proud and reward yourself. I do mean it. You choose pop in from time to time, to keep your healthy self going for 3 months!!! I would love to see some rewards. Once again thank you. I have needed this forum and all of you were amazing.

I was originally going to give our highest point pony a prize, but you all meant something to me. So I have a few options for you. All you have to do is send me a pm.

1. A knitted star in any color or colors. I can do coaster size to something as big a cover of a chair. This is free, just need your address, and I will be working on them when I get back.

2. I make flutter pony wings. You may choose something already made or give me your own design. These will be at a huge discount and even trade at the huge discount price.

3. I make pony capes and dresses. This is all up to you in color and design. These come with a huge discount and even trade at the huge discount price.

4. Huge project on knitted projects come with a huge discount too. I am talking animal outfits with ponies and holidays in mind.

I will do another healthy pony round in September. I try and make each round different, so be on the look out. I will post in this forum about as well. I know I need to keep it up, as I go through this pregnancy. Your support and wonderful Stories have made a shining light in my day:) good luck with the last few days and keep up your amazing progress.

Oh boy...I don't think I've posted all month!  I think I averaged a 3 for each day this month.  I didn't walk on the treadmill at all (got distracted from it by having niblings at the house for a couple of weeks and just didn't get back on) but I have been painting like mad.  Finally finished my 2007 scrapbook so I can move on (hooray-only took 10 years) but I have around 16 painting projects in the works that I need to get my act together and finish.  And then I had another idea for another project and I'm resisting the urge to start it until I get something else done (I blame re-reading the Dragonriders of Pern series).  Will be on vacay for the next few days so I'm not sure I'll get anything done (but I am going to take a small project just in case it rains).

We're under our third heat wave of the season, and it's smoky again from the B.C. wildfires. My walking has been put on the back burner until the weather is nicer. That said, this thread at least helped me get started. Points and prizes don't matter all that much to me. Just the participation. :)
