As there is still no sign of them in Canada or on the Canadian Amazon I thought I’d order them from Target. Shipping was going to be $100 so I cancelled my order :( I’m really starting to think I won’t be able to get them. My local Toys R Us has almost nothing MLP anymore and Walmart got rid of ponies years ago.

Finally some news for these in Canada but I don't know if anywhere else has this store. I found the 2nd set of Rainbows and the Uni/Peg set at Discovery Hut in Calgary yesterday. They were $18 each so over priced but I got the 2nd set of Rainbows anyway since I haven't been able to find them anywhere else. With the exchange rate and shipping, I'd be paying that much anyway to import them. Only missing Starflower, someone must have beat me to her.

I’m glad you were able to find them! I’ve never heard of Discovery Hut and I’m pretty sure there are none on PEI. But it’d be a lot easier to get them shipped within Canada versus imported from another country.

Still waiting for the Unicorn and Pegasus, Earth Pony and the second set of rainbows in Canada :(

The distribution of these ponies is discouraging. I love them and want them and am really sad I have to pay around $45 with shipping and fees to get just one to Canada. I can’t afford to buy them this way and it saddens me not having access to them.

I wonder if the Flutter Ponies weren’t picked up because they were packaged a set and the sets don’t sell as well. I wonder if they were sold to be sold individually if it would have been a different story.

I guess I should check into TRU and see if anything else has arrived...

I was at mine yesterday and it had none of the new ponies. It just had the 5 pack of the first set of Rainbows and the Pretty Parlour. The Pretty Parlour was new to my area today though. It still hadn’t arrived as of last week. I expect we’ll be the last to get the new ponies too, if they ever make it to Canada.

I was just looking at peoples pictures and I feel the retro’s forelock are too wide on these new Rainbow ponies. Confetti looks really odd to me with such a large forelock. I’m assuming the other rainbows have one too, but can’t be certain from the photos I’ve seen.

I really wish the distribution was better everywhere.

The post Sunset shared didn’t mention a Canadian contact but did list the first set of Rainbow ponies at Toys R Us. And they’ve definitely been found there. Toys R Us also didn’t say they wouldn’t get more but that they didn’t know if more were coming. I do think Toys R Us is our best bet. Fellow Canadians want to join me in continuing to let Toys R Us know how much we want them!?

I think Indigo may be a lost cause. I had a lot of detailed discourse with them over the last year and it seemed they had great difficulty getting the ponies in stock. They kept planning release dates only to not be able to get the stock and pushing dates back. Then the ponies only showed up very briefly well after Toys R Us was regularly stocking them. I got the sense in the emails they were very frustrated trying to work with Basic Fun for the ponies.

Walmart and EB Games may also be options but tend to be pretty random with their toy stocking. I wonder if there’s a way to get in touch with Amazon Canada too and see if they can get them since Amazon in some other countries seem to have the ponies.

Little update for Canadian folks. Toys R Us messaged me to say they don’t know what stock they will get in advance so we have to wait and see. Indigo responded to say they won’t be carrying anymore Retro ponies. My local EB Games can’t find anything in the system about them either. I’m getting quite nervous about whether we will get the Unicorn and Pegasus Ponies, Earth Ponies and second set of Rainbows here. I haven’t contacted Walmart, but my local store got rid of the My Little Pony section and items months ago.  There is nothing on Amazon Canada that isn’t through third party sellers either. I fear not being able to get these ponies without at least tripling their cost by adding in currency conversions, expensive shipping costs, and border fees.

Basic Fun has not responded to any of my inquiries this month or last month. Even if they can’t give me a lot of information I’d apppreciate a response.

It’s exciting that these ponies are being made but the lack of information and spotty distribution is frustrating.

The shipping rules look to have been changed as well. When I was viewing from the Canadian version of eBay it only showed two of the rare mail orders. When I looked up the seller on the US eBay I could see quite a few more MIB items. I’m not sure they want to ship outside the US unless it’s an item they think they can make a fortune on :(

Has anyone in Canada heard if any of the sets beyond the collector ponies and first set of rainbows will be released here? I’ve contacted Indigo, Toys R Us and Basic Fun through their support pages but haven’t gotten any responses.

Some of my most wanted ponies have been listed already. Some can also be seen in the background pics of the collection. Unfortunately the prices are going higher than I can afford by the time you add on the horrible global shipping program. It’s quite a thing to see so many MOC/MIB ponies in one place. There are clearly a lot of full sets. It doesn’t seem like extra store stock to me though because there appears to only be one of each pony in their packages and no duplicates. It definitely seems like it was once a collectors.

While completing my flutters with wings will be nice I’m actually super disappointed because it looks like the sea ponies are being skipped. I wanted retro clean sea ponies and their shells more than anything else from this line.

I would have also liked to see Lemon Drop with a brand new show stable rather than a variation of the Pretty Parlour. I would think it would be harder to sell a coloured varied playset to new MLP fans/parents buying for nostalgia compared to a whole new playset, if they’ve already bought the Pretty Parlour.

I’m getting duplicates. I have my original release ponies and am buying one of each of the Basic Fun ones. I originally wanted to buy 2 of each of the Basic Fun ones so I could keep one in the box  and take the other out, but that would have been too costly. My original ones will be the ones out of box and my Basic Fun ones will stay in the box. I just can’t turn away from the Basic Fun ones as they are quite well done, have lovely packaging, and for the most part have brighter colours. The accessories were a big deal for me too. Although, I was disappointed with the reusing of Rainbow Brushes and the discontinuation of stickers, with the Unicorn and Pegasus set. I hope Canada gets this set and the new ones soon! The 25th anniversary sets never made it to stores around me so I do not have those, other than 1-2 collector ones that came in lots I bought.  They weren’t nice enough for me to try and find and order online. I do love the Basic Fun ones though and would be thrilled if they redid the entirety of the G1 line although I don’t think it’ll go quite that far. I’d love reissues of the UK ponies we never got as well.

I’ve also been buying the Basic Fun ones as gifts for my niece and friends’ little girls. I want to spread the G1 love to new generations.  My niece hadn’t really played with the duplicate loose ponies I gave her until she unboxed one of the new ones. She loves them now, and uses the litttle comb and brush to style all their hair.

I’m pretty excited about these too but really hope I can manage to get the Unicorn and Pegasus ponies before they leave the shelves. There’s no sign of them in Canada and I can’t seem to find them anywhere online for a reasonable price that ships to Canada. I also had a family member who was traveling check a few Targets for them but had no luck finding them.

I definitely need an upgrade when it comes to Bowtie, Confetti, and Seashell. Hoping the current and future sets make their way north.
