The black-box version is the original, with 150 Pokemon. The red-box version is the "updated" Gold/Silver version, released when Pokemon Gold/Silver came out and the number of Pokemon increased from 150 to 250. If I remember right, they're essentially the same game, just more Pokemon in the red one.

A lot of merch from that Gold/Silver era, including this game, is pretty rare and sought after, I think *because* a lot of it was essentially the same game/thing as the original, so a lot of people that already had the original ones didn't get the G/S versions.

I'm not personally too "up" on the current values of Pokemon stuff, but looking on eBay sold items right now, I see one listed as 99% complete that went for $200. And there's one currently active with three days left and a bid for $145. If yours is only missing that one piece, I'd say it's definitely worth somewhere in the $150 - $200 range, if not more.

I actually like these! The heads, to me, look more like cats than ponies, which does make them seem a bit mismatched to the clearly-horse bodies... But they are cute to me.

The Dollhouse / ID/Price Check on American Girl dolls?
« on: August 12, 2019, 04:17:49 PM »
I picked up some American Girl dolls in my thrift travels, and I was hoping someone who's a little more well-versed in these ladies could help me with ID'ing them and perhaps also give me an idea of what they might be worth. :)

First up, this little redhead:

I did some research, and based on what she's wearing, I'm 99.9% sure that she's Emily; the dress and dogtag necklace are definitely Emily's, and the doll seems to match up as well. Could anyone confirm for me?

Next, this gray-eyed brunette.

She came wearing modern clothes that as far as I can tell were sold separately, so I don't have much to go on in that department to ID her. I thought, based on eye and hair color, that she might be Molly? I don't know if the braids are her original hair style; her hair was loose (and rather messy!) when I got her, but I braided it to keep it under control.

And finally, a brown-eyed brunette:

Like the other brunette, she came to me with modern clothes that appear to have been sold separately, so I couldn't ID her based on her clothes. Her hair/eye combo and hairstyle seem to match up with Samantha...

All three dolls have the same markings on their heads, the same white neck strings, and the same body tag:

Off Topic / Is there any value to used Disney VHS tapes?
« on: July 07, 2019, 08:31:42 AM »
I'm not sure if this is in the right spot... I apologize if I've misplaced it. :)

Anyway, I have a TON of Disney VHS movies that I don't want or need anymore. I keep seeing those clickbaity things saying they're worth money, but searching sold items on ebay doesn't bring up the most promising results; it looks like most only go for a couple of dollars at most.

So while I'm thinking I'll just post them as a bulk lot on FB marketplace and just unload them for whatever I can get, I wanted to see if there were any in particular that would be worth hanging onto and trying on ebay.

All the ones I have have the plastic clamshell cases, in varying degrees of used condition. Quite a few are marked with either the black "The Classics" diamond or the foily "Masterpiece Collection" castle logo.

The Dollhouse / ID/Price Check on some Barbie dolls?
« on: May 24, 2019, 12:17:48 PM »
I picked up some Barbie dolls at a garage sale today, and I'm curious if they're worth anything. :)

This one is a redressed mystery. XD I'm 95% sure her clothes are from a Hannah Montana doll, but I have no idea who the doll is. She is marked Mattel, dated 2003 on her head and 2006 on her body. I'm thinking she's probably an older Fashionista?

Another redressed mystery. At least, I'm pretty sure she's redressed, as her outfit seems to be low-quality for Mattel.  Like Mystery #1, she is marked Mattel. She's dated 1991 on both her head and body. The style of her face makes me think she might be a CE doll, but I have no idea who.

These guys are in their original clothes, so I was able to ID them via Mattel's website.

Egyptian Queen
Grecian Goddess
Sweet Valentine
Bohemian Glamour
Grand Entrance

Based on the eBay searches I did, it looks like the first three only go for around $10 new in the box, so I'm guessing my used ones wouldn't go for more than $5 at most?

Bohemian Glamour and Grand Entrance seem to be worth a bit more, but the ones I saw were kinda all over the place; I didn't see any that were loose and dressed, like mine are, but it looks like nude ones go for $10-20 while NIB ones only go for around $15. XD Would the $10-$20 range be right for deboxed but dressed ones?

This one seems to be in her original clothes, but I can't seem to find her on the website. Any ideas on who she is or what she might be worth?

I also got a few Barbie-sized dolls from other brands.

Hasbro Rob (Maxie's boyfriend). He has his original outfit, but the clothes are mildewy and the doll himself some serious mold stains on his legs and arms. Is he worth bothering to clean up?

Dance 'n Romance Rob. Looks like he has his complete original outfit, and he doesn't seem to be moldy like Rob 1.0! XD

Kenner Princess Leia. No clothes and her hair has come out of the original buns, but she seems to be in pretty good shape.

Thanks, SailorStitch. ^_^ I'll likely just put them up for local sale, then, rather than adding them to my sales post.

Anybody have any ideas on the other stuff?

I found some vintage stuff recently at garage sales, and ebay prices seem to be all over the place. XD So I'm hoping you guys can help me get a more accurate idea of what this stuff might be worth.

Mighty Max Skull Mountain playset with box. No figures, but the playset itself and the box look to be in great shape.

Mattel Angel Bunny plush. In decent shape, though her (his?) fur is a bit yellowed.

Yellow Twinkle Bear. Seems to be in decent shape, though I'm not sure if he works; I haven't had a chance to test him.

I'm a long-time garage-sale girl and purveyor of fine "stuff", and as it's gotten to the point where I can barely see my floor, I've decided it's time to downsize the stash a bit. :P

------ F.A.Q. ------

Feedback
In addition to my feedback here on MLPArena, I also have feedback on MHArena and eBay. My name on MHArena is the same as my name here; my name on eBay is Squirrelypaws4788.

In the interest of full disclosure: my eBay account is restricted from selling, for reasons I honestly do not know. I took a break from selling there because I got sick of the high fees, then a year or so later I tried to list an item and was told that my seller ratings had dropped below allowed standards and I was no longer allowed to sell.
Holds
I'll be perfectly honest with you; I really don't like to do holds.

Believe me, I know the feeling of finding something I want/need but not having the money right then. But at the same time, it seems like holds fall through nine times out of ten, and I'm left hanging.

So my policy regarding holds is that I will do them, but only for a max of 48 hours.
Shipping Costs
Unless noted, the prices I have listed DON'T include shipping.

I much prefer to ship via Priority for US purchases, as the boxes/materials are free and it includes both tracking and insurance. I an open to shipping via cheaper methods if they're available, though. :) Please note, though, that with non-Priority shipping methods I do need to charge extra for the box/materials.

Priority shipping includes $50 worth of insurance in case the package is lost or damaged. If the price for your item(s) comes to more than that, there will be an additional charge for extra insurance.

I am open to shipping internationally, though for international sales I will ONLY ship via Priority. I know this method is very costly for international, but I've heard so many horror stories with other methods that I don't want to risk it.
Shipping/Handling time
Once payment is received, I try to get packages sent within three business days. Sometimes, though, life does get in the way of that; if there's a delay, I will let you know ASAP.
Payment Methods
Paypal is my preferred payment method. I prefer a minimum order of $5 because of fees, but I'm happy to work with you on smaller orders too.

I am also open to postal money orders from US buyers. Please note, though, that if you pay via money order your item will not be shipped until the money order is received.

If you have any questions that I didn't cover here, please feel free to PM me!

------ ALLERGY ALERT ------

I have several cats (mixed breeds, both long- and short-haired) and a dog (a Husky/Malamute mix), all of whom like to "help" with my various collections, so there is a strong likelihood of items purchased from me having cat/dog hair or dander on them.

And while I myself do not smoke, and my belongings have been mostly kept in a bedroom that is NOT smoked in, I do live with multiple smokers. I've been asked before how badly I'd say my items smell of smoke; I honestly can't distinguish it, but I think that's because I've lived with smokers my entire life and have gotten used to the smell than because it's not noticeable. I would say buyers should anticipate a noticeable smoke smell.

If there's anything besides pets/smoke that is a concern to you, please feel free to PM me and I can let you know if the item you're interested in has been exposed to whatever your concern is while in my possession. I do want to note, though, that a large portion of my collection (and therefore a large portion of my sales items) comes from buying secondhand, and I have no clue what it might have been exposed to prior to my getting it.

------ Onward to Sales! ------

-------} Pokemon! {-------

I have a rather insane amount of Pokemon stuff, mostly from the early days of the franchise. I'm still in the process of sorting things out, but here's what I've got done so far.

TOMY Figurines
TOMY Figures

These guys were my childhood toys, so they're definitely a bit battle-worn; most just have paint wear and/or marks, but a few do have broken tails or other appendages in addition to the wear.  If you need any additional pictures to gauge how damaged any of them are, please feel free to ask.

As far as I know, these are authentic TOMY figures; they're all marked as such, and I don't see anything too obviousy off about them to indicate that they're fake. That said, unless there's something obviously off about them, I truthfully don't know how to identify counterfeits. So if you have concerns about the authenticity, please feel free to direct me on how to tell if it's a real one or not!

I am asking $4 each for these, unless noted otherwise on the picture. Prices were figured using this guide that I found; the prices in the guide are for mint, so since mine certainly don't qualify as mint, I put them at 40% of the guide's price.  I am open to haggling on these, especially for the more expensive ones. I am absolutely open to haggling. :)
Cards
Oh god, so many cards! I literally have THOUSANDS of them. XD I collected heavily from 1998 through 2009 or so. Most of my collection is the TCG game cards, but I have quite a lot of Topps cards as well.

Because of the sheer number of cards I have, I'm not even going to attempt to list them out. Instead, I'm going to ask that anyone interested in cards PM me with a list of what they're looking for. :) Prices would vary depending on the card.

Still to come are other-brand figurines, plushies, and other various Pokemon toys. :)

-------} Monster High! {-------

I'm going to link to my sales post on the Monster High Arena for this section. :)

Squirrely's MH Sales

I have NIB dolls, loose dolls, nude dolls, and the blind-bag Mini figures.

Oops! I accidentally set the album to private. XD It should be public now.

That was about the range I was thinking, so it's good to know I'm not too far off base. I have a few that were viewed as "rarer" back in the day; metallic ones from Wave 4, glow-in-the-dark ones from Wave 3, the Princesses from Wave 5. Are any of those still worth a bit more than the average one?

I'm finally getting aroumd to sorting my ponies for sale, but I have no idea what any of them are worth at this point. XD Can you guys help me out?

Right now, the only ones I've got sorted are the blind bags. Most are G4, but I do have a couple of G3 ones as well. For the G4 ones, if possible, could I get a PC with and without the cards they came with?

The Dollhouse / Re: Info/PC on a My Twinn doll?
« on: June 01, 2018, 06:05:37 PM »
Thanks for the links! ^_^

She does look similar to the Mallory one, but looking around the second site you linked, I found a chart that lists the stamps on the heads. Mallory heads apparently don't have a date; my girl does, she's marked 1996. Based on that chart, I'm thinking she may be an Ariel head.

That's weird... Hang on, I'll check the album settings. Sorry about that!

EDIT: Okay,  changed the settings so that they should be public now. I tried viewing the album while signed out and they seem to be showing up for me. Hopefully they're visible to everyone now.

The Dollhouse / Info/PC on a My Twinn doll?

Looking for some info on my friend here. :) I know she's a My Twinn, but beyond that I have no clue. I see a lot listed on eBay with names and factory information but I don't see anything on my girl to indicate a name or where she was made.

I will probably be selling her, so if anyone knows what she may be worth that would also be helpful information.

EDIT: Thanks to the links Kestrel_kitsune found, I've narrowed her down to being either an Ariel or an Audrey head mold. Can anyone confirm which she may be? She has a 1996 date stamp on her head, and if the body tag date has any bearing on ID'ing her, that says 2002.
