AHH man!! I can't believe these things won't be coming to the US, that really stinks. They could very easily put the toy outside of the candy and just make them separate to by past that stupid law.

Looks like Russia's squishy toys are also better. Mash'ems, fash'ems, whatever they're called, I prefer my proportions at least somewhat proportionate.

Ah yeah, candy with toys inside are illegal in the US cuz of choking hazard. Customs and border patrol are actually VERY strict about letting any into the country, so no ordering them overseas D|

How would you choke on that?  Seriously, I really hope no one would just shove the entire chocolate sphere into their mouth.

I always think this, and it sounds SO stupid, but that is honestly the reasoning. "What if some kid shoves the whole thing in their mouth because they don't know there's something inside and they choke on the capsule??" That's why only the ones where the plastic protrudes from the chocolate are legal here. I'm sorry, if you're buying a kinder surprise or similar product, you are getting it BECAUSE it has something inside. Every kid knows there's something inside there, they're not going to choke on it. *facepalm*

I think Sandra was talking about the lollipops when she mentioned a place by her having chupa chups ^_^ Kinder eggs do sometimes manage to find a way into the country in specialty stores, and people certainly mail them from other counties as gifts and they don't always get stopped, but because of the laws regulating these non-food-item-inside-a-food-item products, they do not make it here in large scale. So it's very very unlikely that these russian versions will be available in the US.

they, uh, sorta fit in my mouth. but not enough to get anywhere near my throat, and a child would probably only be able to grasp with their lips/teeth XD

But yeah, the kinder egg ban is really stupid. I mean, seriously. You can barely fit those capsules in your mouth, and as far as I can remember, it's plastered on the boxes AND the wrapping that there is a capsule inside.
