I first had them in Poland when I was 9. They're yummy, often creamy, dessert-flavored lollipops. Although the picture here seems to be of Chupa Chups chocolate balls? I've never seen those before, but they look pretty neat. I always just thought they made only lollipops. xD

But no, seriously, those are really pretty molds on some of them! That Luna looks gorgeous, the Fluttershy is so pretty- and oh my gosh, a Shining armor? I'm die. Just, bleh. I need them so bad. I really hope there's a pony friend out in Russia willing to lend a hoof!

I have seen these in an Eastern European store a couple of times but the ones I have seen are Disney Princess and Hello Kitty. They are exactly the same as Kinder [chocolate not as good :P] chocolate ball wrapped in tinfoil inside the ball is a little plastic case and inside that a leaflet and a toy. I hope they get MLP ones when I am next in the area. :)

Russia is Ferreros biggest market for Kinder Surprise so I guess the concept of this kind of sweetie is popular in there.

I love that all the ponies are in a rearing pose but I agree with PitterPatter Rainbow Dash's pose is killing me with giggles.

Some of the rearing poses do look a little silly, but I'll agree that it's nice they're rearing at all! We've got a perplexing preponderancy of simple four-leg facing-forwards standing poses of late.

Chupa Chups are original from Spain ^^ They where created in 1958 by Enric Bernat in Asturias, in the north of Spain. And Dalí created the logo.

Here ATM we don't have MLP Chupa Chups, although I'll keep an eye on them. What I have seen are Monster High Chupa Chups. But I don't think they come with dolls.

The only reason kinder eggs are illegal in the US is because they have small parts and then that could cause children because they are intended for children, so they might choke on the small parts.

So wait, these are illegal because of a choking hazard? That makes no sense when just about any toy one can think of that gets released in the US has a choking hazard and is perfectly legal.

Kinder eggs are a complete egg all the way around, with a separate capsule inside. That's why they are illegal, because from the outside the capsule is not visibly evident. Because: stupid. (Also because the toys are not approved for all ages, but even if they were, the egg/capsule design is still not allowed.)

This is a Choco Treasure egg

The choco treasure is not one complete egg. It is 2 halves. The capsule has a special ridge that goes around it and the 2 halves sit on top of it. The plastic capsule is clearly visible when the item is whole, which is how this company managed to get around the restriction.

The ban on chocolate eggs/balls with an enclosed capsule inside has NOT been lifted. The media stupidly put "Kinder Surprise" in the headline of a lot of stories reporting about the choco treasure, leading a lot of people to be like "OMG yay Kinder eggs are legal in the US now!" and then not actually reading the story. But they're not. Items like kinder eggs, and these chupa chups chocolate balls, are still not allowed in the US.

I know it was in the news a lot then, and they said they were getting kinder, but it was the bars or something, I guess. I knew you couldn't get the eggs in the US, but I had no idea that the fine was $2500 PER EGG! Wow, I've sent a few in swaps. I could not have afforded those fines! =(

There's a candy store here called Freak Lunchbox (it's a chain), they have all kinds of older candies that normal stores don't carry on shelves anymore and other candy oddities (they had Whatchamacallit bars there one time when I was in! And Zebra Stripe gum) I might ask them about ordering some of these in ^^

I always think this, and it sounds SO stupid, but that is honestly the reasoning. "What if some kid shoves the whole thing in their mouth because they don't know there's something inside and they choke on the capsule??" That's why only the ones where the plastic protrudes from the chocolate are legal here. I'm sorry, if you're buying a kinder surprise or similar product, you are getting it BECAUSE it has something inside. Every kid knows there's something inside there, they're not going to choke on it. *facepalm*

I think Sandra was talking about the lollipops when she mentioned a place by her having chupa chups ^_^ Kinder eggs do sometimes manage to find a way into the country in specialty stores, and people certainly mail them from other counties as gifts and they don't always get stopped, but because of the laws regulating these non-food-item-inside-a-food-item products, they do not make it here in large scale. So it's very very unlikely that these russian versions will be available in the US.

they, uh, sorta fit in my mouth. but not enough to get anywhere near my throat, and a child would probably only be able to grasp with their lips/teeth XD

But yeah, the kinder egg ban is really stupid. I mean, seriously. You can barely fit those capsules in your mouth, and as far as I can remember, it's plastered on the boxes AND the wrapping that there is a capsule inside.

That's basically the deal I've made with my friend. I told her I'll buy them and she can have the chocolate.
