Hello everyone, I just so happened to got to Toys R Us when they were reseting the mods for the Ponies! They have new pony stuff there already, however, they were officially changing all the pricetags and making homes for the items! They JUST put a box of Fash Ems out and I had to do a double take what my eyes were seeing because well, I havnt heard of them being found in US stores yet!

They are $2.99 each in "mystery capsules". I tried looking at a few to find out which characters could be inside but had no luck! I tried candling, looking for codes, anything printed on the wrapper that could possibly identify the pony....nothing except 4 tiny as heck holes that were angled. I figured Id grab 3 plus the two cupcake ponies because they were having a sale.
I wonder who is inside?

I watched a opening and review of these on YouTube,the person said if you get alot of light on the bottom of the capsule,you can kind of make out who it is. Do let us know who you get! I think they are super cute :)

No way we could could tell to see "who's who" either. We bought 6... got four Twilight Sparkles... Luckily we also got Rarity :inlove: and FLuttershy too.

Meijers all in Ohio have had these for the past couple weeks. My area ones sold out before I could get any, hopefully ToysRUs will keep them stocked better-as all I want is a little AJ. :biggrin:

They wash off with warm water (per the instructions).

So I found out a few tips to help identify the ponies
-Fluttershy and Alicorn Twilight will feel "heavier"
-piece of paper inside helps secure the pony in place, makes it easier to find the head without toy moving around the place.
-an LED Flashlight app can help "candle" the capsules, sillouettes might identify race of the pony
-4 tiny vents on each end of the capsule and be easily punched out with long enough ballpoint pen tip. I dont encourage this method if you are shopping in the store but you can always buy a few, hang onto the reciept and keep capsule sealed but punch out one of the bottom vents and try to ID the pony through peeking. I suggest candling the capsule first and try to find out where the head is on the pony, punch out one of the holes as eyes are easy to ID the character and you might see colors of the pony. You can always return the item as long as product wrapper remains on capsule untampered.
-weighing the capsules individually with a pocket or gemstne scale might help ID character as character might have an average weight in grams, but this isnt recondmended because imperfections such as air pockets might vary the weight. I dont recondmend weighing the capsules in stores.

I got Princess Twilight and Rarity. I really want Fluttershy but I'm not sure how much I want to risk getting doubles. Maybe with the BOGO at TRU I'll pick up a few today!

I also have several still sealed in their capsules. I bought a whole box because I was determined to get a whole set, but didn't need to open that many to get a whole set. So, the extra unopened ones will be probably be going back to the store unless anyone wants them here. :)

I have never heard of these before. Are they super sticky, like those sticky wall crawler things you throw at walls? They look like the same kind of rubber as Squinkies, but I can't tell. I want them though, at least a Fluttershy. So cute!

They arnt super sticky, but are just a little. Hair seems to stick to them but they are easy to wash.

Update for my trading status! I have an extra Twilight Sparkle and Applejack to trade- I need Rarity and thats it! Looking for Rarity guys! ^-^

Weren't there supposed to be packs that aren't blind packaged of these as well? If so, I don't think I'm going to go nuts trying to get them all blind, especially not at $3 a piece. But I'm going to be out of town in an area that has a TRU on Sunday, so I guess if I find them, I'll buy a few.

I didn't envision myself purchasing one of these, but when I saw the capsules in the store, I couldn't help myself. I got Pinkie! The texture is so strange...I kind of like it, ha!

Yes there are double packs and 6 packs in blisters rather than blind packed. But to date they seem a little less available.

I went ahead and bought 2 of these because of the TRU BOGO 50% sale this week.
They were the blindpack capsules, and all I really wanted was princess Twilight & AJ , because there's no Dash on this set. (really? no Dash??? Too bad!) I was curious about them and hey...bogo.
Anyway:
AVOID the blind capsule ones!
My AJ's eye is COMPLETELY ruined on one side. The paint is all smeared, white, and the black part is messed up and flaking off. The capsule hadn't been opened either, so like factory errors---you can't avoid them in these dumb packages. You can't return it either cause it's open & they'll say you messed her up. It feels like a ripoff cause of the high price. I mean, the mess is so bad you can't even display it.
The head is filled with water (shake & you can hear it)
It's not sticky like a wall walker or 'grabby gummy hand' toy, but they're lightly tacky to things like dust, or as you said, hairs
Very squishy & twistable
Details are good, like fully 3D hair 'flaps' and styles & symbols
Smells a little weird at first
So I would say if you like the style or just want that wacky figure type of your favorite character get the ones you can see first cause 3.99 or whatever it was for a messed figure is not cool...but the squishiness is pretty fun if you get a good one.

A brony customer that comes in to where I work bought me two, got Pinkie and non princess Twi. Bigger than what I was expecting, and I love the gummy feel. (when I was younger, had a collection of gooey/gummy random things like those gummy slaphands).
They're only 2.99 out here. *shrug* The problem we're having out here is finding some that aren't open and empty, apparently people in Ohio think it's cool to open and steal. :huh:
I find it humorous there's no RD. Bronies complain how everything has RD on it, then there's something with no RD and they rant. :devious:

I bought my first one of these the other day. I got Fluttershy! She's too cute.

While I was out of town visiting relatives, I stopped at a TRU and got three of them. One of them had already been opened at the store, but it had Fluttershy, so I grabbed it along with 2 more at random. I got Pinkie and Rarity, which was awesome because those were the three I wanted most. They're not the best of quality (Rarity has blue paint smudges in the black part of her eye, Pinkie's cutie mark is unpainted and Fluttershy's eye paint is a bit smudgy) but they're cute. They're also quite different than anything I have in my pony collection. They're fun to squish, too. Of course, I still love playing with Gak (which I also bought today at TRU) so maybe it's just me. My mom hates the feel of anything similar to them.

My boyfriend and I tried hunting for these this weekend, since I love squishy, gooey toys. Our haul was: two Pinkies, a unicorn Twilight, two Princess Twilights, an Applejack and four (!) Fluttershys.
My AJ also has one eye completely smeared and going into her cheek, like she was put into the capsule while the paint was still wet. The only ones I really wanted were AJ and Rarity. I feel like I'm gonna get ten more of these just to find a Rarity, haha.

I'm going to have a bunch of extras of these if anyone is interested in them! I'll sell them for price (plus paypal fees since this would just be a favor to a member) and shipping :)
I'm not sure who I all have as extras since I haven't opened up all the ones I have, but I know I have Pinkie Pie and Applejack!

i think of them as giant pony squinkies.
since my niece is obsessed with both. it's a win win for her.
though i was trying for princess twilight again today and got pinkie pie.
so now i have a pinkie pie and flutterfly... still no twilight princess.

that's how i got fluttershy. and i did pick a heavier one... and got pinkie. just probably didn't have twighly in the bunch i compared.
