Hi ponies,
I have been working on a new version of the nirvana gallery and where possible, if known, I have added the "given" name to a pony in it's own language :sunny: some of the names are really pretty as well.
Obviously it is not always easy to find which pony came with what name as backcards, leaflets and other information can be very hard to find. There is also the added complication of pony names being different in leaflet compared to the backcard compared to the comic (I'm looking at you Germany >_< )
Italy is a tricky one since so many ponies were made for export as well :nerdy:
Anyway here is a nice name for you that I learned Auriken Minty is Mentita :) and the name is on her parlour name tag card :D

Not sure of how much of this is relevant or how much is known already, but those are my go-to websites when looking for pony names in translation.
I collect all kinds of foreign names (not just Nirvanas) from packaging, books, comics, cartoons etc, so I can't vouch for how many of these are definitely from backcards, but it's a starting point!

I looked in the Japanese part of the Nirvana gallery (who is not part of the navigation links left on this side btw). Silky hair is originally called SaraSara. I send you the pictures of my former MOC Takaras here in a PM so you can put them in the gallery as well.

Shaz: ooh some of those websites are new to me :) I remember Perikoala web page and it is really useful :) I have used it a few times when double checking stuff ;)
The name thing all started when I began "collecting" German names :P Then I found the PonyLande website :P so I felt my project was a little bit defunct :lol: I still have all the wok saved though.

SaraSara has a lot of different connitations in Japanese,

Silky Hair sounds like an attempt to translate based on her theme but the above link hopefully gives the range of potential meanings in case you want to pick a better name for her. (It's also pronounced with short vowels, which makes it sound kind of rustly).
Suggest that a better name for her going forward in English would be "Silky" on its own...?
...I have an Italian insert from 1987 and it has a lot of names on it. What is harder to work out is which ones are Italian and which aren't, because they all have Italian names and it's a bit comprehensive. They are the Italian names for ponies that may have been sold with different names elsewhere, too...
Suspect you probably have Italy covered, but lmk otherwise.
Perikoala's Spanish link is also super useful.
