Hello there everyone! This is my first time requesting such a thing, so please forgive any mistakes I might make: Now, here is the situation: My best friend Nods birthday is coming up, and since we live on different continents, and I can't send him stuff for privacy reasons, I thought I would gift him with some fan-art instead. But sadly I can't afford to buy him as many pieces of fan-art as he deserves, so instead I would love for some of you to draw his Pony-OC - everything would be awesome (pixel art, adoptables, sketches, anything really). Or, if you'd prefer that, we could do an art trade. His birthday is on July 11th, which is a bit short, but once again, everything (including happy birthday wishes) will be greatly appreciated! This is his ref: visitors can't see pics , please register or login[/spoiler] Thank you so much for reading this, and have a wonderful day! Mel

Soooooooo I've been pretty much out of ideas for dresses for some time now, but in the meanwhile, I've started drawing digitally, including G2, which in my opinion, is greatly under-appreciated! Hello everyone! I finally got around making a tutorial for one of my favorite kind of dresses. Hopefully I'm going to have the next part up in a few days, but I cant make any promises. Anyways, today, I'll show you how to make this: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI'll be showing how to make a dress for a Celestia-model G4 pony, but you can apply this technique for all generations and poses. First of all, yes, there is some sewing involved in this outfit. But! Its very minor work, and if I can do it, so can you! So, step one, Materials: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginYou will need: -Fabric of your choosing, I used satin and patterned organza in navy blue. I used about 11 inches, or 29 cm of fabric for this, but you can adjust the length to fit your pony. -Bobby Pins to hold everything in place (you can use regular pins, but here bobby pins are a lot easier to handle) -Scissors -Plastic embroidery needles and some string to hold it in place -A pony, depicted here, her royal Highness, Queen Moon Step two, Preparation: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPin the fabric like shown, even if you only have one layer, this will help you immensely. Step three, Pinning and Testing: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginCreate gentle folds and pin them in place, then compare against your pony to see if it fits(yes, your nail polish has to fit the fabric.) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginStep four, Sewing: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginStart on the bottom and use a running stitch till the end.( Handy guide to sewing) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginSee above picture for details. (Like I said, very easy stitches). visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt should look like that when its finished. After that, clean off any stray strings and it should look like this: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginLast step, securing the dress: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTake the embroidery needle and thread it slightly below the two ends, like shown in the picture. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginWhen you did that, loop the string around the ponies wings(or torso, if it doesn’t have wings) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTighten it up and tie a little bow. And you’re finished! The only thing that you have to do now is take a picture of your pretty picture and send it my way, so I can marvel at your superior sewing abilities! This is what the finished dress looks like from different angles: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginI hope you liked this tutorial, and let me know if I should make more! So, after getting the prompt "Valentines day" on a different thread, I kinda went into a creative frenzy and bumped out 7 new dresses.

Hello everyone! This post is a bit longer, mostly because I've done a lot more of these dresses than I thought. First, we start with a simple Bee-costume, based on a G2 play-set I saw somewhere and couldn't find anywhere else.
The next dress begins one of my favorite things to craft - dresses by Askblogs! This one is from banana-dreams.tumblr.com
Now, this dress was a lot more tricky. It was both my first attempt at using organza(?) to make the transparent part and my first attempt at making ruffles, and it shows big time
These are a bit older, but the same dress
This dress right here is a lot simpler, with less details and things I could have screwed up, but its also my least favorite of all of them. I don't know, it just seems off to me.
And last, but not least, one of my favorite dresses to work on. In theory ( it) looks really difficultly, but once I started to work on it, I realized how easy it really is.
And were done! At least for now. I got a lot more planned and I'm gonna update this post accordingly. Tomorrow I'm gonna show off my own creations, which means we finally get to the G2 and G3 dresses! So stay tunes, tell me how much you hate/love these dresses, and have a wonderful day! P.S.: I'm always happy to take requests (from the show, fan art, something from another generation, based on an idea/concept), mostly because I''m kind of running out of ideas^^ [Topics merged 25 Jan -- Griffin]Update 1:Royal Armor:
And the crystal pun armor (a very long story) Update 2:Thanks all of you. Yeah, for someone who sews as much as I do I'm really quite bad at it (which is why I'm using felt. So much easier) And a patch of new dresses to look at! First, an exercise in embroidery and techniques:
Witness the first time tulle/organza/whatever actually did what I wanted!
Now, my new Nightmare Moon in my new fabric. (Wants fabric samples - gets 2 meters of fabric. Story of my life)
And last - an exercise in pants and scarfs: Update 3:So, finally, we have reached my own creations. Now, most of them came from experimentation with different materials, techniques and ideas. And, there a quite a lot (17?) of them. I skipped the commentary in this one on some dresses. G2 (Berry Bright): First outfit for a G2 pony - a saddle with ruffles, which I hated at this point in time.
G3 (Amberlocks and Fizzy Pop): First dress for G3 ponies, with felt:
Second dress, used to be a cushion cover ^^
G4: Feather May, in a blue dress, that would propably fit Lily Blossom better...
First time using organza for anything:
My second favorite of all the dresses, this steam-punk inspired purple purple dress looks just fabulous on Rarity.
Photo Finish in a dress I made after discovering some new embroidery techniques.
First attempt at layering for a skirt! I love Sunset Shimmer, she is probably my favorite show character.
A nice pair of socks for the Queen of Socks Minty!
First time making a dress for pegasi:
Now, the next three dresses are what I call "The time I went crazy after discovering how ruffles work"
And last, but not least, my favorite skirt on my favorite pony, Dewdrop Dazzle! Update 4: Thanks all of you so much! Here are some of the 'ruffles' on other generations, mostly to test out how different skirts look on different gens: Silver:
Stars:
Hearts: Update 4.1:Just a short update, but there will be new posts with the Valentines Day dresses, and an extra post for crowns/jewelery today. Update 4.2

Hi!
My name is Melanie and I'm a 21 year old German pony enthusiast and when I'm not thinking about ponies I'm working as a IT-specialist( aka a programmer).
I used to love the MLP G1 movies on VHS as a child, although I never had any ponies (not sure why), but as time went on I forgot about my love of ponies, until I recently stumbled upon Friendship is Magic, which rekindled my love for ponies. I mainly collect G4, but some G3 and one G2 have already found their way into my collection.
Recently I started to hand-craft outfits(dresses, skirts and costumes) for my collection(mostly G4 but some G3 and G2 as well), which I'm planning to show of here (hence the name Dresses For Brushables).
I look forward to meeting all of you and learning all kinds of new and interesting facts, techniques and tricks!
With that said, I wish all of you a wonderful day
Melanie
