Title: SCAMMER ALERT !!! nasty ebay transaction
Post by: maycrestmom on September 08, 2012, 04:15:26 AM
OK =

so who is sam0069 ?? Anyone here... they better not be.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130747669643

I happened to have "won" an auction on the 11th for this item  when lo and behold I stumble on this lovely positive comment to the seller

I originally posted over in the nirvana forum as that is what this former put-together princess is considered... and the saddest thing is that I paid more for an item that was obviously sold twice.

http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,307938.0.html

I am now reporting to ebay = if there is anyway to find out if the buyer is an arena member = and if there was any knowledge about what the heck went down as the seller was obviously having PM/ side chats as that is why it was supposedly listed "separate" in my auction

will keep everyone posted.... this S-U-C-K-S!

just got my ping for the email I sent ebay = will see how it goes from here = if nothing else, this is gonna be interesting

from my home email - paste

Please note that this is a system generated email; please do not reply to this email because it won't reach us. You can contact the Customer support using the help section from the navbar.
This is for an auction that has ended right after mine = for the same item = seller is a confirmed scammer My auction ended on 8-11-2012. The seller than sold the item again looks like a BIN (?) as there is only one bid 130747669643 is the item number sold to an ebayer sam0069 = theyve both now LEFT POSITIVE FEEDBACK so looks like I won the item, then the buyer and seller set up a second sale and the second buyer gets the actual item. I got mailed a baby sun hat, so am now in the process of returning per ebay policy. here is a copy from the resolution page Item number:140815326853 Price:GBP 180.00 Sale date:Aug 11, 2012 PayPal transaction Id:2HH172666J3721839 Case ID:5018906486 Case opened on:Aug 30, 2012 Seller:heavenlee-fashion Problem:Item not as described This seller SHOULD BE BANNED for this scam.

This seller is criminal
I checked the bids on the auction you won and clearly this Sam is right under you with several bids.
I'm really speechless. Well it's horrible that they had a private agreement after the seller sold it to you but holy cow they got your money too and put up a BIN on ebay (brainless, they think that ebay cannot see it's the same item?!)?!?!? And then sent a poopy item to make this seems a mistake?
This seller deserves really a prize for dishonesty and stupidity
I am so sorry for you, I hope that ebay/paypal give you all the support and at least you get back your money  :(
Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: maycrestmom on September 08, 2012, 06:31:13 AM
yeah that's just it = that's what's so concerning to me and why I want to know...

it's just as possible that the seller was playing us both and telling the sam0069 person that she would be a back-up "if I didn't pay" and it's plausible that since the BIN came down on the 14th that the seller did just that and made it look like a second chance offer which - understandably -  if I were given a chance I would have gladly bought on that rationale.

I mean, come on = he sold it for less the second time - the exact last amount that sam0069 had bid under me

so IF the buyer is an arena member = I would really like to know more of the puzzle pieces and I really hope that more of this story comes to light so folks here can trust - or not - as needed

That is so wrong. Dishonesty never wins. I hope eBay refunds your money, and bans that person.

Wow, I am surprised at her feedback rating and it says she is a trading assistant contact member...that is surprising.

Looks like she mainly sells clothes with the tags on. She has a total of 9 negatives for non-received items with no contact received from her in the past year...

That sucks hun. Good luck.

I don't know him/her. I'm so sorry for such unfair things :(

I'm not sure i understand the whole situation. The seller's name is not Sam. So it's another buyer(?) How do you know the name, ebay doesn't show bidders full name right?
Is this buyer even aware of the whole situation?

Hope ebay will help ya out!

The other person who got the bin, their screen name was sam0069.
Maycrest saw under the bids link on the auction she won that sam0069 bid a few times on that auction, but she won it. But then the seller listed the pony as a bin after she won the auction and sam0069 bought it. So Maycrest was shipped the wrong item to make it appear to be a listing goof when in fact the seller was being dishonest in reselling the item.

Ah, thank you for clarifying! This is a really nasty case... it stinks of scam. So it looks like Sam emailed this seller that (maybe?) she wanted to offer more then Maycrest(?)
In the other topic i read that the seller never responds to Maycrest, so i'm sure it's indeed scam, not just a honest mistake. I'm very sorry these dishonest people excist.
Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: maycrestmom on September 08, 2012, 07:15:57 AM
oh heya - sorry if I wasn't clear

I have a problem with an ebay seller =  heavenlee-fashions.  The seller doesn't usually sell MLP = they sell clothes.

The story on the auction was that it was a sale of childhood ponies = someone was kind enough to point out that the UK glowing green hair princess is rare (which it is) and so they put it into a separate auction.

Which I thought was legit - and I won - on august 11

but on august 14 - the seller sold the pony again but this time as a BIN

and I find that the buyer of that second sale = sam0069 (you are right, don't know the real name/if has arena membership) = was the bidder under me.  And it looks like this buyer received the princess pony as heavenlee fashions and sam0069 have now each sent positive feedback to each other for that second sale that was conducted three days after my auction

So was it made to look like I was a non-paying bidder and this was a second chance?  Is there more to this sordid tale?

I am glad that the poor toy wasn't just lost in the mail and tossed, but it sucks that the seller scammed me = so yah, I am pushing for banishment and have already left scammer / negative feedback.

I just want to know  = silence is the worst for me and I would rather have bad news and know how to deal with it than just not know and then I imagine much worse - does that make sense?

ok - bad things happen ... deal with it  and move on.  But I am still in the figuring out = what the heck??!? and I want folks here to avoid a scammer like the plague = enough other crud in the world to deal with right now, don't need people scammed outta pony joy

hope my re-telling was a bit clearer

Oh no! I am so sorry you got scammed out of your pony. Perhaps it was because it says it posts to United Kingdom, and this sam person was from the United Kingdom and you are from the United States? Maybe they were afraid to send an expensive item overseas so they sent you a dud? Still, they should contact you, not scam you.  :(
Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: maycrestmom on September 08, 2012, 08:01:21 AM
yah - totally understand if that was the case and I had not already been in contact to verify that they were OK with shipping to US

honestly, I would've been fine to have been blocked as a US buyer =  their pony/ their choice = but just don't take my 190 GBP first and send me a bum item in its stead and then not answer my email questions and then without comment just ask for resolution to escalate and demand I send the bum item back... yah the scam is what sucks

and why no one should ever buy from heaven-lee fashions - for 3 GBP even

just my two bob, quid or whatever equivalent to cents

yeah I'd call up ebay and show them proof that she not only resold the same item to someone else... but that almost all her negative feedback has something to do with her not responding to her buyers and not shipping their items.

Yikes. So she sold you the that princess pony for 175 and then sold it again for more to a second buyer?

And then sent her a next-to-worthless item just for the joy of pouring salt in the wound, I suppose.

From what I understand, the second listing, which was a BIN, was actually for less than what the OP bid.

I mean, come on = he sold it for less the second time - the exact last amount that sam0069 had bid under me
Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: RockinPrettyBeats on September 08, 2012, 10:29:20 AM
Hum, If she sold it for less to the second buyer what would she have to gain?

Unless she was just hoping that the OP would just forget all about what she bought and keep the hat :-/

I read through the both threads and am still a little sketchy on the details. But it doesn't look good on her end.

Unfortunately, looking at her feedback it seems like she is able to keep just enough honesty to not get in trouble. Her star ratings are excellent and she has 9 out of 2500 which isn't much. I don't understand why she would be a decent seller and then pull something like this.

Hum, If she sold it for less to the second buyer what would she have to gain?
She had to gain the double money keeping the ones from Maycrest and scamming her. She has 9 negatives but has also other neutrals and if you read them they aren't good, just people has been kind with her.

Looking at the feedbacks of the buyer Sam I noticed they have negatives too and there's a scary "item relisted". I don't think that even if they are a member here they will post, it seems you ended between two dishonest peeps

Only three days later than when you bought it?

Can I ask when you paid?  Sorry to read you are having to deal with this seller...

And just for the benefit of the doubt...  maybe the 'new buyer' just believed the seller and bought it... (just... maybe...).  But still, the time frame is too short to have a non-paying buyer case.

*big hugs and good luck with this*

You know, I don't know what it was with this pony but it never sat right with me from the start, maybe women's intuition?!

The big thing that gets me is simply what would she possibly gain. Surely this "human" knew that you wouldn't sit back and let £180 fly out the window and keep a babies hat, and surely judging from her previous feedback she knows that eBay will refund your money (with everything you've got it's pretty much guaranteed) so actually what is her gain. I thought maybe some PM bitching emails and she's somehow got the woman selling it to fall for a story, but surely it would be the same price?

Whatever else this seller is definitely up to something, some people are dispicable. Hope it all gets sorted soon for you!

Maybe she knows the second buyer personally and wanted the pony to go to them... who knows what her bizarre thinking is...

Whatever the sellers reasons for doing what she did, bottom line is she should have just told maycrestmom instead of pulling a lame trick in sending a bogus item!
Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: zap18 on September 08, 2012, 05:40:37 PM
Since the price of the BIN was just under the original sale price, the second sale probably was conducted through a second chance offer.  However, just because ebay shows us the ending price of the BIN, that doesn't have to be what the pony sold for- the seller could have added the remainder of the agreed upon price to the invoice afterwards.  They could have just used the second chance offer function to facilitate the sale.

Oh my goodness :whoa:  :dropjaw:  This is absolutely awful!  I am so so sorry to hear what happened to you   :cloud:   . Something is very wrong here, but its hard to see what really went on. I know that ebay will side with you and you'll get your money back thankfully, but this is not acceptable behaviour from the seller at least, and possibly from other buyer as well. I have not come across this buyer before so I dont know if they are a member here, but if they are, someone will know for sure.

"Never received item and no communication, opened a dispute to get my money bk. - 31-Aug-12 15:14 "

"Postage cost not acceptable - 23-Jul-12 11:52 "

"Didn't received item... completely ignored me!!!!!! - 07-Jul-12 22:10 "

"Item arrived damaged!!! Got refunded from ebay. - 30-Jun-12 22:53"

So, basically, these feedbacks for 2012 tells me that the seller is shady as frack and needs to be avoided at all costs. Seller basically depends on Ebay and Paypal to take care of the problematic transactions rather than fix issues on their own.

I just added to my Ebay List to avoid at all costs! I love the feedback you left, it's not the first time this kind of shady business dealings has happened and potential buyers/bidders need to know what ethics this seller has with Ebay selling.

Was there a senders address on the item that she sent? Perhaps you could lodge a police report with the UK for fraud. Not sure if you can or not.

Title: Re: IF you are this buyer.... I want to know = nasty ebay transaction
Post by: GoldenLambPony on September 09, 2012, 05:42:20 PM
I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out, and came up with this scenario: She sold you the pony, but accidentally got your package messed up with someone else's package. Upon realizing the mistake, she knew you would want a refund or your pony sent to you. She didn't have enough money to refund you or reship your pony because she had already spent all the money paying bills. So she quickly sent the second highest bidder a second chance offer to get some money and buy her some time to come up with the rest to refund you and play it off as a mistake?

Its a little far fetched, but the only thing I could come up with for her odd behavior. She must need money fast and will pay it back later. Kind of like those places you go to get a loan for a week, then you pay them back but with like 40% interest. Maybe she thought the interest rate on scamming was more favorable.

I wish it was "accidentally" goldenlambpony, but it just now doesn't seem likely at all...

worse is the weirdness that happened - read the link in kitkatvintage's thread - to save that seller from being scammed to sell that princess when it was originally listed in lot for like a dollar... seems the seller is so thankful (?) she goes on to scam whoever wins the separate auction that is the result of her avoiding a scam herself = too much

My wondering now is if there was anyone else who was informing her of that value of that pony and again - the seller "wanting to do a good deed (?) sort of thing" - commits to helping that buyer regardless of the outcome of the auction.

Admittedly I was not chatty with the seller other than asking if it  was OK to ship to the US, so  I dunno...

yah, maybe there was an element of this seller needing money-for bills or whatever- and it makes sense the seller would have to come up with a delay tactic for getting my money off hold, as I thought ebay puts a hold on funds while an item is in transit - but not sure of that policy.

here's the response I got from ebay:

**************

RE: Your question about eBay Buyer Protection - SR# 1-4552788775

Hello Monica,

Thank you for writing to eBay Customer Support regarding the seller that you're having issues with. I understand that you want your seller to be banned from eBay.

Monica, what I did for you is I have reported this seller for possible Non Performance case here on eBay.

If proven that your seller violates eBay rules, in result your seller's account may be put on hold or much may be suspended and can no longer list an item here on eBay.

Relevant Department will be handling the report against your seller and rest assured we'll be keeping you posted for whatever result it may be.

Let me assure you that keeping eBay a safe and reputable place to buy and sell is our top priority as this is essential to the future of our business. We respond to every report that we receive and, if necessary, take appropriate action against members' accounts.

As soon as a buyer wins an item, by being the highest bidder in an auction or using Buy It Now, the buyer and seller enter into a contract. The seller must sell the goods and the buyer must pay for them.

The seller may not refuse to accept payment or fail to deliver an item for which they have accepted payment. They may not send an item different to that described or pictured in the listing.

What will eBay do with the seller?

eBay does not tolerate fraud activities, your complaint will be noted in the record of the eBay member you reported. If we find this member has violated our policies, we will investigate and take appropriate action. If this occurs, you may be contacted in the future about the status of this complaint.

I trust this information helps and I wish you all the best on eBay in the future.

*************

So seems the outcome is that the seller will likely loose her ebay store ... still dunno how easy it is to start up a new "identity" as a seller, maybe she already has several accounts so best I can do is just once again plug the arena over ebay in regards to doing safe pony sales

Meh, they should ban also the buyer to be so .....  :enraged:
I don't believe the thing of a second offer, after so few days of the auction and again looking at their feedbacks they seems dishonest as well

Doesn't ebay block IP addresses to prevent people make a new account? Just asking, I think they should do it, it's too much easy for a scammer to open a new shop and keep the evil job.

Even if they did block an IP address, it isn't that hard to change your IP address. You can just reboot your modem or even download a program that scrambles it.

Yeah Maniah, sure we can do it, because we know how to do but not all people is able, for sure it would at least limit the scammers, the more ignorant ones would be out  :P

I just really wish that Maycrest get back her $$$ and find another Princess maybe cheaper too and to see this scammer burned once and for all  :)

OK = well I know the stupid sun hat made its way back to the UK... dunno if the seller is gonna just refuse to sign for it/pick it up.

I alerted ebay of the same and I wonder if this is a loophole/problem = I mean seriously, no one is forced to pick up their mail... I hope the policy is just showing proof that it was returned

will keep everyone posted and let's just hope this seller cannot come back to sell whatever goods - or at least if he does, than it should be trackable so you all can update your block-seller lists...

anyhow, fyi =

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful the case was decided in my favor.  I just think it is way too easy for the seller to pick up another online identity and keep on chugging and it kinda sucks that we can't just see a regular brag thread from whoever "bought" that princess since I am pretty sure there are enough posts about the whole mess of it all, so it's kinda sad to have  that all go underground ...

just so bizarre the seller turned around like that... that's all I can say :-/

Ah finally, that's great that you got your money back Maycrest! I am really happy for you  :)
Well not good for the pony you lost but well at least you have the money, maybe soon you will find another one and in better conditions from a nice seller, you never know!  :)

And I completely understand your feelings about the seller and ebay, I also think that ebay should do something more against those scammers as it's true that those ones come back with other accounts and keep the evil job...guess we just have to keep our eyes open and help each other in the community to avoid scams

If I had this princess I would have sold to you as I am not collecting anymore regular ponies but sadly don't have her, hope someone else here has one for you!

ha ha that's true = time to update the wanted thread again = been getting dragons so now down to just a princess Glow-y, Crash and Amber with coral hair (and has a tail) - pink, blue and yellow - one for each kid ;-) so it's all good

(gotta love that there are a-l-w-a-y-s ponies to hunt for!)

I'm happy to hear you finally got your money back   I hope that you'll be able to buy another Princess pony soon to make up for the one you lost. Its such a pain that the seller gets away with this though :(
