Attheirongates - eBay?
« on: October 11, 2015, 11:51:22 AM »
This eBayer has amazing feedback ( over 1200 positives and no negatives) so I didn't think anything when they bought about $90 worth of ponies from me. It's been over a week and eBay has now made a case. Does anyone know who this person is? I find it weird for someone to have such great feedback and be such a good seller and then screw someone over like that. I'm getting a married in a week so I'm selling these ponies to finish paying for my DJ and dress alterations since I'm still short after an incident involving my dog needing emergency vet care after being attacked by another dog.

This is just so frustrating. I really needed the money :( and the person got some great ponies for really good prices.

Unfortunately, feedback on eBay offers no real way to tell whether the buyer will be a problem or not. Sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers and positive feedback left with a negative note/warning by a seller is a policy violation and will get removed. Additionally, there is no way to tell if the buyer has a pattern of not paying for things, unless you have your listings set to block buyers with some set number of unpaid items within a month's period. I agree that it is incredibly frustrating, there really needs to be a system put in place to weed out these kinds of buyers- like allowing seller's to leave negatives for buyers once they have gone through the unpaid item case with no payment received.

I am sorry you are dealing with this, it is such a waste of time and energy :(

That name is really familiar. I think they may have been a non-payer for some of my auctions.

FOUND IT! From http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,349167.0.html:

"Another person who won a G1 auction who decided not to pay. I sent an invoice and tried to communicate with them but got no response back. I opened a case against them and the case will be closing in a few hours and there has been no response:

attheirongates

I'm really getting sick of these non-payers. And I wish eBay would offer to relist our auctions for free if there's a non-paying bidder. It's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to lose out. I mean, I used up one of the few free listings eBay gives us nowadays and wait around for days for nothing."

I had trouble with her as well.  She eventually did pay me, but I had to send reminder after reminder and really chase. :(

*nods*  I remember the name. Such a nuisance when buyers like this can seriously mess you about - especially when you need the money for something important quickly :(  ebay really needs to address this issue because if you look at her feedback it all looks great but it doesn't tell the true story.
Hopefully (as in silverdawns case) the person will eventually respond and pay up as she sometimes does. If not you'll have to relist which is also a pain. Maybe do a BIN rather than an auction if you are selling for a good price and you want to sell quickly? :awake:

I have had the same thing happen to me, I open a case after 7 days and they paid the very last day before the case closes both times, it is incredibly frustrating only because they don't answer emails saying they need more time to pay :(

I had an issue with them as well. They paid after the case was opened.

I think what surprised me was that one of the 2 times she did this to me the listing was a BIN! I was so confused...why would some one do a buy it now and then not pay for almost 2weeks???!!

That is why we have the non paying bidders thread. So that other members don't have to deal with these time wasters. If they do it once, they are more than likely going to do it again.

eBay does what now?
I never even knew this .
that seams like a very unfair way  to do things too.

so a buyer can leave negative feed back for a seller
but a seller can't  do the same for a  bad  buyer ...

The only good thing is that a buyer can have only so many non-paying bidder cases opened before getting booted from ebay.  I hope it happens soon for this person, sounds like a real flake.

I know ebay did away with negative feedback for buyers because seller feedback extortion was so rampant.

For BIN, you can check an option to make the buyer pay immediately.  But this does not apply to BIN with best offer or auctions unfortunately.
