My first deflock/repink... What do you think?

Hey! The title rhymes...

Well, I finally finished my first EVER deflocking of a pony... Wind Whistler! (Yeah yeah I know she has a NSS counterpart, but she was soooo baity, I had to!)

And then, I realized after reading some threads about re-pinking hair, that I actually HAD the right color dye already... and so, because my poor Wind Whistler had terrible fading (but a BRIGHT PINK top of her tail, really annoying!) I decided to repink her as well. I figured... why not, she's my custom...

So here she is!! I'm really excited with the way she turned out, I think she's just lovely... not to pat myself on the back, but still!

Aww thank you so much everyone!  The re-pinking really made me think about wanting to repink some of my "faded pink" hair ponies, but I'm not ready for that step yet, practice on a few more 'customs' first heh

And Skelleton - I didn't think it was very hard, but I was REALLY nervous hehe, then I just convinced myself that she was a custom so, however she turned out would be alright - but, I just searched the Arena forums for "Re-Pinking" and read through some of those threads to see what people said. I think it seems much harder than it is, but if you're trying to get a specific color or darkness, I'm sure it's a bit more challenging. I just went with kind of the "whatever color it comes out" type of thinking.

I just used liquid RIT dye - in Rose Petal (or Rose Pink or Petal Pink) - I think it changed names, and is now called Petal Pink... I just put a small amount (a couple drops, it looked kinda... a bit lighter than magenta when mixed with the water), mixed with water in a plastic cup and used an old toothbrush to brush it into her hair. I didn't measure how much dye I used, just kind of tried to only put a couple drops in but with a pour bottle, it was kinda hard to get only a few drops... so I did the best I could. Then, I did not rinse her out, I just laid her out on a rag to let her hair dry (not touching her body)... once it was dry I did wash it out, but no dye came out.

I read that if you use cold water, and the pony is dry, that you can wipe the dye liquid right off the body and it won't stain - so that's what I tried to do, I don't notice any staining, but she is a dark blue pony, so that may have helped, I'm not sure how it would work on a white pony? I think if you wiped it off fast enough you'd probably be alright!
