Update: PC Africans....Decided

Alright, a lot of thought went into this, and I've decided to NOT sell any of the Africans at this time.

Reason? Simple, my husband asked what I would do with the money made off selling them and I dident have anything meaningful I wanted to do with it. It also brought into question the rest of my collection. How could I sell some favorites and still buy others? And of corse, I cant replace these once they are gone.

For historic records on SA price checks, a few notes.
~ The highest offers dident seem to care about condition.
~ Price varried greatly on each pony, but the one that got the most intrest had the lowest offers,I guess because she looks like the Itilian? (Windy) I would guess others like Moondancer fall into this catigory, however, prices never got competitive. So this might change in a auction.
~ Dont sell any valuable pony based on unsolicited PMs without price checking, I had a few offers I thought were good before this post but after posting here, those offers were actualy much lower than the top bids.  When I am ready to sell one of these, it will go to auction here.
~ Anyone is welcome to PM me if they have questions or concerns.

I can't beleave I'm writing this.....

Ok. So I have 3 South African ponies, AJ, Windy and Medley. I get a lot of pm's asking me to sell them, especially after I respond to any posts about them. Now I'm quite fond of these and haven't seriously considered selling them before, but everything has its price and I'm starting to see serious offers that are hard to ignore. I have numbers in my head of whatit will take for me to let one of these go, but realistically, what do you think any of these would bring in the current market ?

Note: feel free to PM price quotes. I will not post them publicly.

If you sell, I'd take offers. They (obviously ) don't show up for sale often, so I'd imagine people would go crazy for them. I think they could bring in anywhere from $600 (the price of the last SA Bubbles I saw on the market) to $1000+.

well its hard to say i know seashell and the two on bid or buy went for between 400-600 Im not sure what the cotton candy sosilver bought ended at?

I know the CC was at $400 for the longest time during the auction, but I don't know what she ended at either. I don't think it was higher than $600 though.

Oh wow... I don't want to get anyone's hopes up too much, I just wanted to know what the rough price range was right now. I have been inactive in the collector world for about five years and it seems a lot changed for SAs in that time.

I won't list offers I have received. But I think I have an idea of what to expect for these now.

There are more photos in that album, but they are ancient and I'm a wretched photographer.

Do you think condition matters much? As you can see in the photo each has its own flaws but nothing disfiguring.

Oh! I should mention. I might have the brush for Windy too. She came in a lot with an Italian and there was one flowers brush that is much lower quality plastic and off color. I don't have any Italian brushes to compare to so I'm not sure which one it belongs to, but it *might* be Windys.

i don't think that much has changed with the SA ponies since i wrote the spotlight (remember that? you helped me!) other than we have found MORE ponies, including new variants.

i am thinking $300-$1000 in the current market, depending on the pony and who is looking the SA ponies are hard to price since some are still OOAK and they don't come on to the market very often, also some do seem more desirable than others.

from what i remember there are more applejacks floating about than any other pony, except for moondancer. however moondancer is VERY sought after and the last one sold for around the $1000 mark (thanks glacia i had forgotten until you reminded me!)
