The Storytelling Game Thread!
« on: March 01, 2012, 09:09:09 AM »
I thought we could play a little game to liven things up in here!  The game is exactly how it sounds - it's all about story telling.  You've probably played this in some form or fashion before.

Base Rules:
1. Keep the storyline going!  Don't backpedal.  No flashbacks.  Keep it moving forward.
2. On your turn, you must write at least 3 sentences, but no more than 5.  Don't be a story hog.  Try to leave the end of your turn pretty open-ended so that the next person has something to work with.
3.  Don't change character names!  Otherwise, anything else goes!  Make it as ridiculous as you want.
4. Of course, keep it Arena appropriate. ;)

I'll start!
*clears throat*

One day, on an ideal summer afternoon, a puppy poked his head out from underneath the cool porch.  A peculiar scent entered his nostrils and filled him with curiosity.  He studied the front yard, sniffing fervently; suddenly, something called his eyes to the house across the street.

(hope I'm doing this right :) )

Someone had put a pie to cool off at their window.
It looked so inviting, so warm and sweet!
They Puppy inhaled more of the wonderful smell, and without even realizing it, he started to walk towards the house across the street.

Oh! Oh! I want to play! I hope my piece isn't too awful.  :P

The scent of the warm apple pie wafted in the air as the puppy drew close. He glanced cautiously around the unfamiliar yard, wagging his little tail. Suddenly, the neighbor's cat flopped down at the edge of the windowsill next to the pie, guarding the fresh baked dessert with a quiet glare. Oh, how the puppy wanted to wipe that smug look off her face!

( I used to LOVE the "add a line" message boards they used to have on AOL. *sniffle* Nostalgia!)

Being guided by his nose to this spot, it was not surprising when his other senses were perked. From his low position outside the window he could hear a voice, it wasn't his master's. It was lighter, softer, and much friendlier than what he was used to. Was this a girl? It drew his attention past the fussy cat, he tilted his head, ears lifting slightly as his eyes drifted off and became unfixed.

"At least attempt a piece," the voice from inside said. "Then you may have pie. I know it's your favorite."

The hiss came next, but by then it was too late; a large, furry, white blob was launching his direction.

EIDT: (I just noticed went over 5.. Sorry!)
