that's miserableSadly these sellers seem to be everywhere, and the idea of a deal being just that, a deal, seems to have gone completely AWOL. Yesterday I'd just concluded what I thought was a buy-it-now deal, paid up, only to have my money returned a couple of hours later. My suspicion is that the seller suddenly thought they could get more money - well why agree a deal then?Hey-ho - Karma has a way of biting back though.........

You came through on your side. I guess someone may have contacted the seller and made an offer. Figures, doesn't it? Where are the people who care about their customers? If eBay wouldn't have changed their feedback system, I think we would still have more honest sellers and buyers.
It's so hard to get a deal any more. MIND YOU it is not always JUST the seller who is at fault. There are still people who will contact an ebay seller to make a private offer.

After my auction ended, perhaps someone who missed the auction made a private offer and the seller accepted? Or maybe even during the auction that happened and the seller didn't cancel the auction just to see if it went any higher?
