Title: USPS First Class Mail International question.
Post by: starrypawz on January 01, 2013, 05:39:20 AM
Okay so this isn't pony related.

I've seen something I'm thinking of grabbing from Ebay which is from a store rather than an auction, it's US based but with the price conversion what I want is a pretty reasonable price. And the shipping doesn't seem too bad either, at least it doesn't seem much more than anything I've paid out when buying ponies. XD

Apparently they'd be shipping via USPS First Class Mail International which I guess is the 'normal' air mail?  (I think that's what most pony stuff I've brought has come through on)
I'm just asking as I'm still trying to get used to Ebay.

Yeah anything I buy from the U.S I ask for them to post first class international..anything else is too expensive!

Theres no tracking though and from what I gather if its lost its lost...I've never not recieved anything though :)

Okay thanks,
Hmmm I think I've only once or twice had stuff with a tracking number and that was when I brought from a 'big' company like when I got my hoody from Bioware.

I ship USPS First Class International for all my packages abroad.  And in all the years I have done so, I have maybe had one or two issues. I would say you have nothing to worry about especially since they have a store and it is not some fly by night seller.

Plus ebay has so much buyer protection nowadays that if a problem should arise you are covered.

Yeah I was just double checking as I kind of blanked when I looked at it as I thought it seemed familiar.

A USPS first class international package has some limited tracing with the Customs form number. Looks like LC**********US with the * being numbers.

I thought that Ebay buyer protection for international mail is only valid if the shipping method has true tracking and insurance like Priority Mail or Express. I'm not sure. Maybe PonyLady or someone else knows better.
