I have quite a few G1 baits- how baity do you need them to be? Mine have missing/ cut hair, bad marks, symbol rust etc.

Pony Corral / Re: what are your collecting idiosyncrasies?
« on: June 12, 2016, 03:53:07 PM »
I'm not super picky, however I must have all the ponies with bees in their symbol/ cutie mark, of all gens. And I'm trying to get all US release unicorns (G1). Other than that, any pony that strikes my fancy. Also, and I don't know if this counts as an idiosyncrasy, I love G1 ponies with factory curls. No matter how frizzy those curls are, if they are original I'll keep them just like they are.

The Dollhouse / Re: Help Wanted: Questions for Smart Doll Q&A

I'd love to see a 1/6 YoSD sized line. Also, are there any plans for elf eared sculpts? I wouldn't think so, as they wouldn't really fit in the story with the other dolls; but it never hurts to ask, right?

I do! I have gray skin Lilith and she's so adorable! Those little teeth >< The company faceups are lovely and detailed, a lot of the more affordable companies' faceups are pretty bland. My Lilith can pose really well and had the perfect stringing tension right out of the box. The only thing I don't like is her double joints aren't the prettiest. But they are solid and pose well and she wears tall socks & sleeves so you don't see them. Overall I was really impressed at the quality for the price.

** ETA I hadn't seen the new body yet- I just checked it out and the joints are much prettier!

Pony Corral / Re: DRAGONFLY FOR PRESIDENT!

Candidate Dragonfly, what do you plan to do about the tragic homeless baity pony problem? Rehab and restoration, bait shelters? We need to get those ponies out of our thrift stores!

I use a mineral based sunscreen, the chemical ones irritate my skin. I work with horses so I'm in the sun a lot, but I'm also a goth and want to be as pale as possible, lol. I wear a hat and these 'sun sleeves' that are stretchy synthetic fabric tubes for your arms. They're kind of expensive so I made some from some old tights I had. Seems to work pretty good.

Off Topic / Re: Every horse loves bath time
« on: June 10, 2016, 10:02:06 AM »
My horse will tolerate a bath for only so long, before sitting back in the cross ties just hard enough to pop the panic snaps and ambling away. I have to keep a pocket full of treats, a dressage whip, and an infinite amount of patience when I bathe my girl. When she 'escapes' she doesn't run and I can catch her easily & put her back in the wash rack. I think she thinks it's a game. Like when my cat plays 'I'll knock it off the table you pick it up and put it back' over and over. Strangely, though, Magic enjoys playing in water and swimming, sticking her entire face under the hose to get a drink, that sort of thing. She just doesn't want to be clean I guess.

Wow! Amazing eyes :) I have some baity TE ponies that desperately need new eyes. I really want to try this!

Mister Radiance is perfectly ok with my collection, if a little amused. The few friends that know about it think it's fun, and I have one friend who has expressed interest in attending the fair one year. My in laws don't know much about it, as they already think I'm weird and whenever I've worn a MLP shirt around them they've laughed at me a little for being so childish. But who cares what they think; I'm pushing 40 and I look cute as hell in my MLP swag!

I mainly remember Minty being the general of my pony army. She told all the other ponies what to do. AJ was her right hand..er .. hoof girl. The other ponies had fluid personalities and genders.

Introductions / Hello again, it's been a while
« on: June 10, 2016, 08:50:18 AM »
I dropped out of the community for a while, considered selling most of my collection, and just put ponies out of my mind in general. But ponies are persistent, and they roped me back in. I'm getting excited about collecting again & I hope I can be more active in the community. I'm glad I still have most of my ponies. I was just so depressed and didn't have the energy to mess with them, and I felt bad for leaving them untouched for so long. But ponies are very forgiving, and after a break I'm ready to dive in again! I'm only sorry I won't make it to the fair this year.

Well, I have blind bag ponies in my purse & car, and various other ponies in the bathroom (spa), on my dresser, G3 ponies stuck to the fridge... I'm supposed to keep them 'contained' in my pony room but they keep escaping.
