Ohmygoodness, thank you so much!! :D I love them!

The Demi gal is so perfect! I don't have a name or symbol for her yet but I'll work on that next. I love her wings. And the little flag! Ee!

And Frightful is just devine. Her hair looks amazing, I love her the orange looks with the black. Her spooky face makes me giggle. I can't wait for Halloween -- Frightful loves a good spooky party. XD

Thank you so much!

Oh wow SquarePeg, your artwork is gorgeous! I especially love the detail you put in the eyes and the little freckle texture on the muzzle.

The paragraph in your first post made me laugh. No wonder we 80's gals do constantly think about our hair! You didn't even include all the Barbies out there with hair accessories. XD I never had Lovely Locks as a girl but I remember seeing a few of the cartoons.

Would you be up for a challenge? Could you do my Halloween persona girl, Frightful Nightful? Without the pixietail and magic fringe, please.

For my second request, I was actually wondering if you would be okay with doing a pony without a reference image? I know Pride Month is over but I realized I never designed a ponysona for when I came out as Demi, and I think I would like to have one. If that's okay with you. :)

The four colors of the Demi flag are black, white, purple, and gray. I was thinking maybe her body could be a light gray/purple color, with those four colors for her mane, in that order from top to bottom, and purple eyes. And I usually do unicorns for my ponysonas, but maybe this time she could be pegasus because I feel like I've evolved into a new person.

Thank you for indulging me! ^.^

Off Topic / Re: The Plant Thread
« on: July 02, 2023, 09:41:50 PM »
Oh wow! A 38 page thread about plants!

You guys are all amazing! I really admire people with a green thumb!

My whole life I've had a black thumb, but just recently (maybe the last six months) I've started getting serious about raising succulents. It doesn't come easy to me, I messed up a bunch of times and all my early plants died. So I started trying harder and watching a ton of YouTube videos and learning, and the ones I have now seem to be doing pretty well. I'm proud of myself! I feel like a real plant mom.

If you guys don't mind, I'd love to show off my set up. It's small compared to what you guys have created in these pages, but I don't have a lot of people who look at my plants, so I could't miss this opportunity. :3

The first photo is my outdoor display. These guys need a lot of sunlight. The two at the top are called Topsy Turvy, because their leaves are shaped like they're upside down. They are my favorite. I love how they look! The smaller one has a long neck because he survived the winter indoors without much sunlight, while the bigger guy isn't a year old yet.

The middle guy, with the giant leaves, is called dragonfire. Yeah, I specifically bought him because he's called that. He's quickly becoming my favorite because he grows super fast. XD Those big leaves in the center are new, and I've only had him for a month!

The two smaller guys on the end are called Gasteria Flow (white container) and Perle Von Nurnberg (pinkish gal in the blue container).

The leafy guys in the giant blue container on the ground are Cosmos flowers, planted from seeds. All my other plants I bought from stores already growing, so this is my first attempt at starting something from scratch. It should have flowers by late July or August! Maybe. If I do it right. ^^;

Next photo is the guys who don't like a lot of intense sunlight, so they stay in the screened-in front porch. The floppy guy on the right is my tiger tooth aloe. He's my oldest plant, from 2021.

The middle tray is some new succulents I'm trying to grow from leaves! This is called propagating. Succulents are great for this because if you pull a leaf off, each leaf can grow into a new plant. They're just starting to get roots now! I'm so excited it's actually working. I've tried propagating before and it never worked. These leaves are all Graptopetalum. They come from my Graptopetalum plant that was drooping badly, so I tried trimming it to get it back into shape.

The oval container on the left is a catch-all for some tiny succulents. (Smaller succulents don't like bright sunlight.) In there I have two pups from the Perle Von Nurnberg outside, three Crassula (the thin green guys standing straight up) and one Graptopetalum (the purplish guy, who is the one that I took the leaves from to propagate).

The last photo is my indoor guys, who don't like a lot of light at all, so they live in my room. From left to right we have Hypoestes Pink Splash, a Crinkle Leaf Fern, and an Easter cactus.

The only things I have that aren't succulents are the Cosmos flowers, the Pink Splash, and the Crinkle Leaf Fern. I like thinking of myself as a succulent gardener.  ^.^

I still have a lot to learn, but it feels good being a plant mom!

Wow those are really cute! I love the alternating colored hair plugs for Marena, great color choices. Willow's face paint is so adorable!

I know these aren't Cats vs. Pickles, but I caved in and picked up a couple of the Pop Art Soft turtles from work and they are CUTE!

They're very soft! I like to hug them. They also have beans in their bellies and legs, which gives them a bit of weight so they can stand up and not just fall over.

And unlike CvP, Cepia seems to not be going insane with these guys. Only 12 characters in the first wave. ^^;

I'm going back to try to get Sandy. Might try for some others, too. Koi and Hope look cute! I'm not really a fan of the Pop Art style of Luvvy so I'll probably stick her on ebay.

I don't even like miniatures and these are the cutest things I've ever seen. XD And you get to make them yourself! Genius!

The company Mega Contrux had a cool line of toys called Breakout Beasts, which are pieces of monsters floating in an egg in slime and you take them out and assemble the monster. They had a similar but less successful line aimed at girls called Crystal Creatures and I loved them. Unfortunately they seemed to have stopped making them after Series 3 but I collected every single one they made back in 2020.

The slime was the most annoying part. I know many kids love this stuff but for me as an adult collector it was a giant hassle to dig out all the parts of each creature and wash them off lol. That stuff gets everywhere.

The types of fantasy animals that came in the eggs included unicorns, deer, dragons, lions, and a kirin and a panther. Along with armor and other accessories. All the parts (accessories, horns, jewels, even legs and tails!) can be swapped around to each creature to make your own unique characters!

Ooooooo this week we got a ton of Cepia stuff at work! :D I was excited to see it after we've had nothing but the Jumbos that have been hanging around for over a year.

We got a box of Bears versus Donuts! At least if you want these, it's easy to feel the package and tell which ones are bears and which ones are donuts. The donuts have a big hole in the middle. XD

We got the Pop Art Turtles and Pop Art Elephants. I like turtles okay, I might have to cave in and buy one to see the pretty art. I like the idea of plush being art!

And we also got another of the gold wave with blue borders. And lastly, we got another box of the current wave of Chonks.

It looks like Cepia realized they make the most money with the blind bags. I haven't seen a box of unpackaged beans where you can just choose the character you want in quite some time... (Well, except the Holiday ones.) I guess that's to be expected. I'm a little sad since I would be happier picking the ones I want rather than the blind bag game. But oh well, that's the way the market works right now.

I'm just happy to see these guys in the store. Because I get a nice employee discount. XD

If anyone is looking for more of these we just got the Series 1 vinyl back in at my work for $6.99 and we have some of the Series 3 plush left for $13.99. :)

I'm sorry if this was posted somewhere else and I missed it.

I usually check the "show new replies to your post" page every few days here to see if there's anything I've missed.

The last few days, whenever I check the page, it has an error message that says:

"The server is currently under high stress. Please try again shortly."

I've tried refreshing a few times but still get the same message. Is this something that is just happening to me, and I need to clear out my cache or something? Or is it a site wide issue?

You are so good at finding this online information, Carrehz! I appreciate it since I don't have that much google-fu. Mostly I just go by the packaging or the wiki page for my information lol.

Looks like Cepia are starting to realize that they've been overreaching themselves? It's a shame since there were some Gold Waves I was looking forward to, but it's nice to hear the designs haven't been cancelled completely.

Wow that's strange! I guess I'm not surprised because this company seems so impulsive and changes things up so much. It is frustrating as a collector when designs you really like pop up and then disappear, though. :P

What I like is the mention that from Fuchsia wave onwards, checklists will be shorter. YES!!! It's been driving me nuts how the checklists included all these characters that weren't actually available in that wave, or at all.

Wait wait wait... REALLY!? All this time I thought the checklists show what is available in that wave! I've been duped this whole time!? Gah! That's so annoying! ...I guess I never really noticed because for the most part I buy the characters I want on ebay, and just once in a while buy the blind bags from the stores if I happen across them in the wild.

Also there was a Facebook Live recently and lots of new stuff was shown - Previews of Puppies vs Squeaks (upcoming DvS baby line), Cows vs Aliens, Bears vs Donuts, Christmas CvPs for this year (I love Harold omg), and previews of Fuchsia wave CvPs. Some characters are redesigns/palette swaps of Blue Wave beans. Not sure how I feel about that.

Oooo thank you for the link! So it looks like a lot of the extras I got from the kickstarter (the non-exclusives) are actually Fuscia wave beans. I should try to sell those on ebay quick because impatient people will pay more. XD

This is my first time seeing the bears and the cows. Looks... interesting? I won't be collecting them, but pretty cute.

I dunno how I feel about the redesigned Blue Waves either... Like, I really want Blank Page but I don't like the changes. I want the original design. And I love Skelecat but the purple just isn't the same as the black... Meh, I guess I feel *shrug* about the whole thing. I guess it's good that they're not just re-releasing the old designs, because I know collectors are picky about having the original wave and re-releases would make them less special... But for those of us who missed the original wave, getting a different designed re-release just isn't the same thing.

I kinda wish they did more like Snowball, where they rereleased with the same design but a different tag. But maybe I should bite my tongue, at least they don't just rerelease the same 6 characters over and over like the MLP brand. ^.^

The keyrings - I asked about those on the Reddit a while ago. Apparently before the Kickstarter, they were sold on Cepia's webstore for like 5 mins, those didn't have a checklist either BUT Sakuramei on there did give me the stock photos of them. I made a checklist thing, I'll put it under a spoiler since it's kinda big:

I don't know if the Kickstarter keyrings have all the same characters as the previous release, I assume so? But there's more than 24 shown and I was told that not all of the characters shown were even in the assortment before (or at least no one found some of them), and some of them are shown twice on the images, so who knows what's up with that! -_- But it's something to go off, anyway.. I hope that helps. Better than nothing.

That's SO weird... maybe they were having production issues and decided to hold off on putting them out... But they why even put it up online? This company makes so many weird decisions... Anyway, I hope they get a real release soon, I want more! lol

Omg these are so cute! We sell them where I work.

I'm not usually one for blind box type toys but I loved every once of the designs, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to buy some. (Plus I get an employee discount.) And I got lucky and got most of the ones I wanted!

I like that this company made both vinyl figures and plushes, and both come in those cute little boxes. It's a little more original than just collecting plush or figures. And some of the characters overlap, and some of the characters are original to either the plush or vinyl.

In series 1 I got the dragon kitty, the mermaid, and the fairy, which were ones I wanted. I also got two donut kitties and one hamburger kitty, which I'll be reselling. The only one I didn't get from series 1 that I wanted was the unicorn kitty, but that's okay. :)

Then series 2 came out and I got the pumpkin kitty, which I wanted, and the pancake kitty, which I'll be reselling.

(BTW instead of 'series 1' they call them 'litter 1' and 'litter 2' which I think is adorable XD )

These are all vinyl. I haven't run across the plushes yet, although I've seen them online.

One negative I have of the packaging is that they don't show the designs of all the characters on the outside of the box. For a blind box series, that really annoys me, since I want to see all the options I might get before I buy. I had to google them.

Oh man, somehow I completely missed this post? Are you still looking? I have a TON I'd love to get rid of, including one of the chase figures and some of the hard-to-finds.
